Engine: Factory Highport SR20

Exhaust: 2" Catback system with a bullshit fart canon

Suspension: Lowered sports ryder pedders suspension

Wheels: 16's with 205/45 R16 sport treads

Stereo Audio / Visual: Type R all round with a 400w PDX and 450w monoblock. Keenwood 12" sub and box.

Estimated Power: Little bit more than stock :) beat a supra!

Future plans for the pullstart are brand new full 2" exhaust including extractors with no filthy canon, Excedy button clutch, lower it a bit more, front strut brace, I'd like ITB's except too much work. Replacing all gaskets and bearings within the engine, bigger sway bars a short shifter kit and bigger cams. All in time and when I hopefully start earning.

Just taken the extractor cover off and degreased and painted rocker cover, no it isn't a panel filter, it's a K&N pod in the standard airbox with ducting, sucks like crazy :wavey: got a new dash surrond that isn;t cracked and changed the dash and aircon switch lights to blue...

And has been painted finally! only out of a can though.

Thanks :o

These go pretty hard, although the better base would have been the GTI-R, but since you're on P plates. leave until on opens, buy GTI-R

Actually 3 of the pictures are EXACTLY the same and the engine bay and interior is taken from a different angle but looks the same as it did last time.

What should you do to the car? umm well you cant take back painting it with exports finest, and you clearly cant afford to redo it properly, so maybe just stop posting it so we all don't have to see it.

    A. Dont waste your money replacing gaskets on an SR20 that are not leaking, complete fucking waste of money. Until they start leaking(unlikely with less than 200K on it) your just wasting money

    B. No need to replace bearings, since SR20's are a throw away item. You have more chance of damaging the crank big ends by fitting new 'fresh' bearings than using the existing bearings. Keep it filled with good oil and it will be fine. If it ever does blow, SR20's DO NOT fetch a premium price 3 weeks before Racewarz, less than $1000 for a new SR20DE with a warranty is the going rate :)

    C. Dont waste your time with a button clutch, the SR20 gearbox is weak as piss already, shock loading it with a button clutch is just begging for 3rd gear to become shrapnel. The money spent on the button clutch is better spent on a PAR flywheel.

    D. Do a brake upgrade to GTiR/N15 SSS front brakes

Thats quite true, I got a quote fro $780 for a good sr20.
Would you recommend a heavy duty clutch or not?

Yeah neovvl ftw for the guy who said that! :)
And yeah pretty much what iamhappy has said...
Heavy duty clutch will be fine mate, either Xtreme or exedy will suit perfectly

Oh and to any of the fools who think he couldn't beat an n/a supra, wake up, without the turbo supras are really not fast at all.

OP, clean up the paint and drop in an sr20ve and you'll have a wicked p plate car :o

Not bad, paint looks good from a far but a little rough.

SR20 would hammer in a car this size but don't say you have beaten another sort of car unless you have the time slip to prove it, other wise you just pissing in the wind.

How much would a VVL set me back though, and really is it worth it?
Thanks, is it worth lightening the flywheel as someone said before or not?

Around $2500 to do a VE conversion properly, not difficult, just fiddly.

Also, NEVER lighten the factory flywheel, you buy an aftermarket lightened flywheel. It has more mass in the centre of the flywheel despite having similiar weight. I prefer the PAR flywheel since it has the best inertial mass :P

    SR20VE with PAR flywheel ;)

Well I'm using a brand new sr20ve 20v short motor mated to an sr16ve head, which is costing me $2000 all put together. But if you want I can pm you the number of a bloke who can get you a sub 100,000km sr20ve for $1500. And again, iamhappy is pretty much right, will in total be about $2500 done properly. Cost mainly depends on all the little extras that you choose, as I said, the VE itself will be $1500...now factor into your budget: port matched extractors, lightweight flywheel and HD clutch if you want, suitable ecu and all the various fluids to get it running. Plus random shit like plugs and solenoid switches and whatnot. So cost is mainly dependant on your ideals for the car :dunno:
