well correct me if im wrong but arnt 1j's older than 1997? i thought the law was that u couldnt put a motor in a car that was newer than the engine. due to emission laws? Who said this engine was a 1J? And further more, At the simplest you could have just done a wiki search on toyota JZ engines and noted that 1Js were made till 2007 and that Chasers/etc. were made after 1997 etc. etc.. But really this engine isnt a 1J anyway. |

I'm doing a 1J build in my S15 atm. I can't see you making that sort of power with 440's, but some bigger injectors and it's very much possible. And just wondering, but why did you put the 1JZ head on the 2JZ bottom end? It would have been better to keep the 2JZ head as well. Pray tell, why? |

A 2JZ head flows around 240cfm at .4" inlet and 155cfm at .4" ex where as a 1JZ head flows 215cfm at .4" inlet and 135cfm at .4" ex. |

funkin haters By haters you mean realists.... you are not going to make 500hp+ on 6 x 440cc injectors....no matter what fuel you run. And the 37/01 emission that that 200sx is complied to are bullshit hard to match unless you are going to run lpg. You are definitely going to have troubles making them with a donkey old non VVTi JZ motor. There is a lot more to emissions than just carbon canisters and cat converters....most is to do with combustion chamber design/how complete the burn is and how quickly the O2 feed back can come online. If OP had of done some research, he would have realised that if he had of chosen a Pre 96 model, he wouldn't have any hoops to jump through at all. Not saying he won't be able to get it passed, but chances are if it does it would be on the sly. Your typical Boost cry-baby will respond with haters....a smart person would ignore the little digs and take the information on board and do something about it. Oh and nice ride by the way, looks like it should be a pretty clean swap when finishedand should make some descent power with some bigger injectors |
