Estimated Power: Not sure I have not driven it on the road
Hey everyone this is my first car that's not a falcon . Its had a hard life this poor little corolla but I would like to have it all nice and running by February next year to replace my EF wagon as a daily
First off the body. who ever had it must have just thrashed it . It has several dent in every single panel on the car and one of the sills is smash in but surprisingly very little rust needs to be cut out. I have tapped all the dents out and starting to bog over them to smooth them out. The previous owner resprayed the car with very cheap paint aswell. They just shut the doors and sprayed away. Theres a bit of over spray and they only did one coat and no clear. It look odd because the door jams are bright yellow haha. I will most likely respray it in the same colour but do the door jams in black or grey like the wheels.
Suspension wise I might try a dual shock setup or mayby try making coil overs. But for now I will just buy some proper springs instead of the chopped falcon springs that are in there for now. As for the rear I will return the springs to the correct way and get the leaf reset of use block. It sits nicely at the moment so I would like it to sit like this after the suspension is fixed. Theres about 12 cm clearance from the sill to the ground and about 10.5 at the lowest point which is the exhaust. I have always like watanabes and a set of superlites came up cheap so i grabbed them.
The original engine was a 3K with an auto but the previous owner swapped it for a 4k and 5 speed. that's about all I know about the motor. Im new to carbies and 4 cylinders so I hope I learn quick haha. It seems to idle and rev okay. but Im not use to the extra peddle ( I only have an auto license because I couldn't afford driving lessons at the time I got my license). Its so tiny I think I could just about lift the motor haha. Also no idea why it has a 3" exhaust but it does.
Other then that its going to stay fairly sedate and just be a cool little cruiser. Enjoy the photos and remember it is a project not a finished car. Thanks for reading and feel free to comment good or bad
