hey guys, Just curious to see if anybody knows if you can transfer personalised numberplates, say from NSW, to QLD, if you can still use them? I'm looking at purchasing a set from interstate in NSW, but I'd just like to know if I can buy them, and still be able to use them. I've heard different stories, but I was always under the impression you could not do it. Any thoughts on the matter? -------------------- ![]() |

I wouldn't think so, as the plates could be in use here already. |

QUOTE(^sims^ @ Apr 5 2006, 10:10 AM) but you're supposed to transfer the rego (to qld rego) within 3 months.. you can get fined for it otherwise.. Dependant on certain situations though. If you work for the ADF, some public service jobs, mainly Government related stuff, you can get away with keeping the car registered under State X even though you live in State Y. For example, one of my Dad's car, which we recently sold for parts finally had it's Victorian registration expire last year. We haven't lived in Victoria for over 10 years. However as he was in the ADF, he could get away with keeping Victorian registration. *shrugs* Anyway - for you - you now know that you can't. ROCK ON R~R |
