Basically I had never really passed a thought at doing the
following.. but I saw it done in another Silvia in silver while drunk and
getting a lift home.. and thought it was pretty cool.. You can see what Steve
did here

Now, I wanted to go silver too at first, then thought that the originality that
I try to keep with my car would be thrown out the window! I thought of a light
blue colour (like the intercooler pipes since I have that paint lying around)
but thought that would be a bit over the top.. so I chose the same paint colour
as the exterior of the car.. its a dark metallic blue.. the idea is that it
won't be extremely different, but hopefully will at least give a bit more of a
lived in feel.. just on track to occupy some of my time, particularly while I
don't have my license..
I've heard of many people who have tried this with miserable failure, heh..
meanwhile I've heard of someone who did this in... YELLOW! ... argh, what were
they thinking.. some people like to be too unique and "hey look at me"..
The original colour is a glossy black.. so I've acheived a glossy dark blue :-)
.. it looks moreso obvious under direct sunlight and/or with the flash of a
camera.. at night you wouldn't really notice the difference.. it's suttle..
which is what I anted..
The only tips I can give if you are wanting to do this yourself, is take your
time or it'll look shit.. use expensive paint, go to the trouble of priming,
lightly sanding, etc.. and be committed, there's no going back once you've
rubbed sandpaper over it scratching it completely.. uhm.. do alot of lite coats
of paint, but not so light that you hold the can too far back and you end up
with a rough finish.. if you end up with a rough finish, you can always get some
fine grain sandpaper, sand it back a bit to make it smooth, then do another coat
of paint..
