Snow tires should be installed on all four wheels; other- wise, poor handling may result. Snow tires should carry 4 psi (28 kPa) more air pressure than the pressure recommended for the standard tires on the tire label on the driver side center pillar outer panel, or up to the maximum pressure shown on the tire sidewall whichever is less. The original tires on your car have tread wear indicators. The tread wear indicators appear when the tread depth is 0.06 in. (1.6 mm). The tire should be replaced when these appear as a solid bar across two or more grooves of the tread. Always replace your tires with those of the recommended size. If you change wheels, the new wheel's rim width and offset must meet Hyundai specification.

For exam- ple, a tire graded 150 would wear one and a half (1 - 1/2) times as well on the government course as a tire graded 100. The relative perfor- mance of tires depends upon the actual condi- tions of their use, however, and may depart significantly from the norm due to variations in driving habits, service practices and differenc- es in road characteristics and climate.

Traction AA, A, B, C - Traction AA, A, B, C - Traction AA, A, B, C - The traction grades, Traction AA, A, B, C - Traction AA, A, B, C - from highest to lowest, are AA, A, B, and C. Those grades represent the tire's ability to stop on wet pavement as measured under controlled conditions on specified government test surfac- es of asphalt and concrete. A tire marked C may have poor traction performance.

Temperature A, B, C - Temperature A, B, C - Temperature A, B, C - The temperature grades Temperature A, B, C - Temperature A, B, C - are A (the highest), B, and C, representing the tire's resistance to the generation of heat and its ability to dissipate heat when tested under controlled conditions on a specified indoor lab- oratory test wheel. Sustained high temperature can cause the material of the tire to degenerate and reduce tire life, and excessive temperature can lead to sudden tire failure. The grade C corresponds to a level of performance which all passenger car tires must meet under the Fed- eral Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 109. Grades B and A represent higher levels of performance on the laboratory test wheel than the minimum required by law.
