Yep show before go is my preference ( haven't lost a point in the 3 years I've been driving) ran a 16.2 at willowbank but got speed wobbles half way down so backed off, next run it over heated so let it cool down then drove home, Im hoping for low mid 15

Nice, If it was mine i would stick with the volvo diff over a heavy old chunk of a 9". the dana built volvo diffs are extremely strong and there is a huge range of ratio's available.

    what gearbox are you running?

Yep, Volvo diffs are very tough. If you want a higher ratio they come in 3.5 (which I have here if your interested?) and various others.

Man really nice car, do yourself a favour thought and research before you spend money
Putting a 9" in a "possible" 15 second car is not a smart move at all

Joke mate, but yea congats on that, wasnt giving ya shit, but how much did u put in to it?

nice looking car mate..... unless your making 450 plus rwhp looking at a 9 in is a waste of time.... the 355 i have in the pipeline should make a healthy 400 plus at the rear wheels and all im doing is upgrading the axles to 31 spline and centre to suit in a BW housing and just as strong as a 9 in with less the weight to turn and carry. The volvo diff is very stong mate but if you want to change you could go a BW out of a commodore and have it cut down to suit and a good set of 28 splines and ratio to suit will be quite good behind the 6 cylinder mate plus the option is there to go 31 splined etc later

dont put a nine inch in it waste of time iv got a van with a salsibury its tough enough

    parka
    Post #27

Yeah don't know much about diffs, few people told me nine inch but others have said keep Volvo or hilux. Bought it for 5k and probably spent another 8K on it

    Dai.

$5000 for that?... Fuck even i'd buy it. Good pick up anyways.

Looks almost identical to my brothers... he's punching out over 300rwhp with his 202 and is using a VL Turbo diff.

    9" is just overkill

Looks great though, well done smile.gif

When I got it was a little rough, spent 4 K straight up for a roadworthy. Then few months later put smaller carby as it had a 650 Holley. Accelerator cable was zip ties
