Engine: Tickford Enhanced 4.0L SOHC I6

Exhaust: Factory

Suspension: Factory

Wheels: Fairmont Ghia 15" Rims

Modifications: Stereo (see below), Factory CAI, K&N Panel Filter

Stereo Audio / Visual:

Kenwood Head unit (not sure which model)
TS-D1720 C 6" Pioneer Splits in the front
TS-D1602 R 6" Pioneer Coaxials in the rear
FXA-5100 1800w 5-channel Cadence Amplifier powering all speakers
15" MTX Roadthunder Subwoofer in custom box

Estimated Power: 165kw stock (at the engine)

Hey guys, finally got around to getting my ride up onto Boost. It is a '97 EL Fairmont Ghia I purchased just over a month ago now. In that time I have left it 99% stock but I got a K&N Panel filter from my GF for my birthday and I have put my stereo from my old car in it for some DOOF DOOF. It is a little dirty in the photos but I am planning to give it a wash probably tomorrow. My plans for the car are:
-Remove Pinstriping
-BA XR8 Replicas either 18" or 19"
-Drop it down
-Possibly exhaust down the line

Wayyyy down the line (when I get off my P's in about 20 months) I will be going straight into a Snort Performance Turbo kit. Which is why I don't really want to waste $1300 right now on an exhaust.

I like the way the car looks stock so I have kept all the original speaker covers and I worked hard to get the Head unit to sit nice and flush in the dash. It has a nice leather interior and I don't plan to change any interior details, aside from maybe a Blue LED Dash conversion down the line.

Enjoy, please give me your opinion, even if you don't like it smile.gif

Mark.

Looks nice & neat. Leather looks in good nick which is a plus. Had a DF LTD back a while ago, and the goodies make it. When the electrics start to playup though....time to move on.

    looks pretty clean man.
just look out cooling system problems.
we get a few through work, they also get pretty gunky in the cooling system.
a flush every couple of months should keep it running perfect

You have the same head unit as me tongue.gif

It looks really clean, just get some rims and lower it and it will be gangster. $1300 for an exhaust? Where did you get that figure from? you should be able to get a brand new 2.5" Redback exhaust off ebay which will bolt straight on for about $200, I got one for my old AU last year, FYI exhausts are the same fit from EA to AU and so are the cat sections

Probably the worst shaped falcon out there, thats only my opinion. But sounds like your keeping it nice and clean which is a good idea. By the time your off your P's I daresay you wont want to turbo this thing, you will want to move onto bigger and better things. Good luck mate!

I used to think that but I reckon they're great now!!! Yeah keeping it stock cos they look great the way they are. As for power, you can make plenty with a turbo kit, more than any V8. One dude on the ford forums wad making 280rwkw on an entirely stock engine and a Snort stage 2 kit. Pretty good to learn in lol smile.gif

i think the EF/EL Fairmonts are a great shape. Love the grill on them, good colour too

Get it lowered and on some sensible rims and it will look a treat

Nice clean car you have mate, be careful with the mods, once you start you wont stop!

$1300 is about right for a new exhaust fitted, (extractors, cat and catback system)
i paid $1200 for my pacemaker 4499's, high flow cat and an off the shelf redback system, all fitted and whatnot.

an AU exhaust wont fit an el so dont listen to that drone that said it will fit, the extractors will fit but the rest wont.

Yeah mate, I paid a bit more for it because it was in great condition and only has 100k km's on the clock so I'm going to look after it and keep it for a long time into the forseeable future.

Any car with the stacker will have the double din facia, you might even be able to pop out the second slot? I just kept my stacker control in there for look, it is not longer functional. Had a look at your lane too mate, it's a great example of a stocko Ford, looks great mate, lots of style. The turbo e-series go great mate, do it, do it!!! Better than most imports on here. But you will still get called a bogan for having a nicer car than most. It comes with the blue oval.
