Vintage and Historic Karts QLD had a run at the Lismore Kart club last Saturday.
It rained for a couple of hours but it didn't stop most of the guys getting out there and having a drive / slide smile.gif

The vintage group is slowly growing and has regular meets throughout the year.
If you know anyone who has a old kart and would like to get the dust off it, then hit me up. smile.gif its great fun.

are these actually 'vintage' carts? or are they just old beaters/home built haha. Makes me want to have a go, looks cheaper then a real car lol

they are classed as vintage as they are no longer allowed in competition and are of a certain age. http://www.vintagekart.4t.com/
they are all karts that were once raced.
majority of the members are hunting down and restoring any old karts they can find. The search for parts is worldwide and some of the final results are amazing.

some of them are by no means slower than modern karts.

especially the twin engine ones. awesome to see them leave black marks out of all the corners.

Just curious, if you had a kart/built a cart, where could you legaly take it to use it?

my mechanic takes his to lakeside and QR, they hit 160km/h there which sounds terrifying for a backyard contraption with your ass an inch off the tarmac

Hmmm, yea, i'd be keen to make a kart with maybe a 125cc engine or something?

Love the Shots of all the old Dap's smile.gif

I do miss the Dap's smile.gif My all time fav brand of kart. Might be biased there, as I was a Factory driver for them in the early 90's smile.gif

Wow that dap is in mint condition.
The old man used to pay a fortune for them back in the day when I raced.

Awesome pics mate, brings back alot of great memories.
I raced at lismore for about 5 years and bent a few chassis there too.

Yeah, alot of work went into that dap kart.

its really well presented and is dam quick too.

It was a shame about the rain because it must have scared a few guys off. there are some really old karts in the bunch and i was hoping to get some shots of those.

just have to wait till next time.
