im tossing up which xr6t ute to get, ba bf or fg. Pros and Cons? This is not a i "wanna" get one, I actually am getting one within a month Maybe 2 if i dont find one i like. you can get a fpv tornado for about the same price as a fg ute i would probably get a tornado over a fg ute but i would probably get a fg over a bf xr6 turbo and i would avoid a ba unless your going to go crazy with mods such as atomic motor and a built gearbox. |

thats not a FPV motor... good luck with your clutch too. Yes it is. 2007 build mate. Clutch would be cactus if I drove it hard. Every turbo falcon built after 06/06 came with same motor as the FPVs (stronger rods, slightly better valve springs than ba turbos) Fpv started the painted rocker cover, and have carried it through. Feel free to confirm this on any ford forum, or even call ford spare parts. I'm aware of whats done to the FPV motors. Yours has a red tappet cover, and the standard ford coil pack cover. Surely if you had an FPV motor in it, you'd have left the blue tappet cover, and FPV coil pack cover to show off. |

Ahh because it's stronger buddy. I wouldn't push 360 out of a BA motor + stock valve springs. Doesn't matter how it looks bonnets shut when I drive. I did. And bashed limiter @ powercruise for 4 days straight with stock oil pump. Tick tock.. And it's still going strong with the new owner. Currently up to 140,000 i think. Had a fresh head since the timing chain got caught up and jumped 4 teeth. New head, straight back on the dyno, same tune. Bores looked fresh, only small marks on pistons. Lucky. These things must have a safety if something like that happens. Car shut down straight away. Also, don't use octane booster. Head and tops of pistons were orange.... |

The xr6ts though, still have the red tapet cover. Fpv have continued the blue theme they started originally. As for a BA making 360, can 450 if you want. Hence why I stated in brackets. If you already knew this, why all the questions is what I don't get. That's why I think your just failing to grasp the fact that they are the same minus a little bit of paint. I put it there in brackets as a lot of people don't know that the later motors share the same bottom end, comprende? SO, Twincam was right. You're the ford equivalent of Holden owners putting Chev badges on their Commodores. Because they are essentially the same motor (Like the Chev lumina!) You decided that you'd put that its a Typhoon motor for no reason whats so ever. For the last bloody time. I'm aware they are the same motor. What I dont get, is why you're calling it a Typhoon motor, When it isn't. What it is, is an XR6T motor with some head work. And I'm the deadshit. Ok, right. |

Your car is not an FPV, does not have an FPV motor, therefore calling the motor an FPV motor is just sackriding FPV's. A commodore is not a Chev. Feel free to point out any differences mechanically for me though. Would have loved an f6 but at my age it's not the end of the world. Still better than what you own So what is the go? Stronger. The same as. We're not comparing the BA motor to whatever your motor is. In one part you're saying the FPV have better internals. In another. You're saying they're exactly the same. What I am saying, for the last time, for the love of god. If you are saying you have an FPV Typhoon motor in your car (Which have different internals, separating it FROM the XR6T motor) Why the fuck does YOUR motor have the standard XR6T red covers?
