Changed the battery after finding it had a lead acid in the boot. Put my Optima D34 in. Was also surprised there wasn't a fuse at the battery...

Put my Pioneer headunit in too since it shits all over the Alpine that was in it. Sounds good man!

Might adjust the rear coilovers later if I could be fucked.

You shouldn't fuse your main battery feed thumbsup.gif

Tried to ghetto rig the wiring on the latest bushwagon mustering rig, a D21 navara.

This is much easier on older cars.

- cut rubber matting to size
- removed the racks that Caddy had put in the car
- installed rubber matting
- modified the location of the shelves to give me more room down the middle of the canopy

shelves are now "quick release" so it takes about 30 seconds to remove them when i need to use the ute as a ute

Got headunit working (the first time not working was a HUGE derp on my part... it didn't work because I didn't turn it on... fucking LOL).
Wired up amp and sub. Made up a patented interference fit boot install using a bag-of-rags preventing the amp from falling into the space below the sub.
Proceeded with hectic doofs. Goes bloody hard for just a 10" sub.

Discovered front right speakers not working. Yay, more fun working in tight spots.

you have a toyota right? if door trims take you any longer then 5 minutes i think its time to put the screw driver and step away from the vehicle

pro tip: if you cant modify the existing speaker mount, make your own out of mdf to suit the speaker and the door, keeping in mind the window/window mechanism and speaker depth

ot: detailed the work car......made a huge difference even on paint thats only a few weeks old....main idea with the car is to protect the paint and interior as much as possible to keep it nice for as long as possible - also to make it easy keep clean in the future

What a productive Sunday!
Ever since this happened (last Feb), we've had a perfectly good GTi engine, box and bits sitting there, rusting away in the orchard.

We got a new donor car last weekend: a good condition Mk3 GTi minus running gear = $100. I spent last Saturday stripping it out.

Work started with the door being forcibly removed from the crashed GTi with a crowbar, big ass hammer and a chisel.

Found it had lowered springs and adjustable struts! SCORE!

Many hours of toiling later... That night i fitted the Mk2 loom to the Mk3, and fucked around endlessly trying to get the Mk2 dash to fit, with the steering column and ignition also being different for no good reason. Found the block had a broken engine mount hole which will need a bracket made up.

Final plans are a roll cage, bucket seat, ecu chip, pod filter, exhaust and 60mm throttle body and FPR. Easy peasy!

Got given directions to a 60 series thats lying out in the never never (got left therr to rot late last year after the motor went catus'd). Its real "Turn left at the black stump" type stuff. See what we can find haha. I love living here sometimes.
