for those wanting exactly location...

the cameras are on the bridge straight after the Logan Motorway Exit....

I know for a fact that these ones are not operational for some time yet they are however testing them to see why they r having so much trouble with the other ones, you should be right for another 2-3 months + for these cameras

The cameras are on the bridge that has an EXIT 30 SIGN attached to it.

They are speed cameras, I got a media release at work about them, under embargo till tomorrow I think.
Anyone driving through there from tomorrow onwards, be careful.

Don't know if they are speed cameras or not - but it doesn't matter because they are not connected yet (as at 24 Jan 2011). The wires on the right hand side are not connected to the cameras themselves as you can see (they are still rolled up.

I had to check coz i got paranoid lol

these are most likely loop speed detectors made by Redflex, they have the ability to monitor up to 6 lanes on traffic.

aren't you lucky!

can anyone find info on these cameras?? not to sure if there in operation yet

its the bridge where the logan motorway crosses the M1 at loganholme

mate got this picture yesterday and said they were flashing away (not to sure if there still in testing mode)

Heh got them everywhere down here in Vic, best ones are between the girders on bridges or behind overhead street signs on the freeways.

Personally I prefer the fixed ones everywhere other than sneak kents parking unmarked vans all over the place

I fkn forgot about these today when i went past them on the bike. Pretty sure I may have been over the limit. Will let you guys know if anything comes in the mail.

Being on the bike my eyes are always on the lookout for potholes etc. Saw the cut marks in the road, thought to myself 'WTF is that' then remembered the cameras above.

Are there any fixed speed cameras on the gateway bridge?

Specifically the old gateway bridge heading northbound as you enter the bridge. I was sure those toll cameras that hang over the road are not speed cameras as well.... at least I hope not.

Can anyone confirm/deny?

So the camera's set up northbound from Mobil at the Johnston Rd overpass to just before the Caloundra exit are point to point? Because I was doing 120 easily going southbound back in January... never got anything... so just curious.

Might have something to do with the fact that GPS says im going 110 while the speedo says 120.

The camera you refer to is point to point, it takes the time you travel the distance and then works out your average speed

For someone who is "Pure Evil" you are quite helpful. Is it only northbound but? And it's not too hard to avoid the first one... just go through mobil. haven't seen a camera facing towards the offramp.

In regard to direction i have no idea if its both ways :)

In relation to being helpful, I have worked in automotive repair and now Insurance. I hate speed cameras  , they believe that they will lessen the road toll, but i fail to see how spending millions on the technology and infrastructure and taking pictures and sending out fines will fix the greater problem of to many uneducated and impatient drivers  on the road.

I also think that a lot of the laws surrounding vehicle modification that they say will keep the so called unsafe "hoons cars" off the road is a absolute pack of crap to put it bluntly. A lot of modified cars are actually safer than standard cars

Maybe the state government needs to actually look into how many accidents have been the direct result of the state of the road surface rather than blame speed and drivers all the time. Baghdad has better roads than queensland and its had the crap bombed out of it.

Captain bligh needs to get the money to the roads and complete all the shit going on around this town instead of channeling it into worthless do gooder projects, damn hoe needs to realise that car freaks vote as well.
