actually the law states the following distance must be 2 seconds. at 100km/h you travel at 27m/sec, so the following distance should be 54m. BUT if you left that gap someone would always come into that gap, so you would have to slow down and make that gap again but it would happen time and time again. So in actual fact anyone travelling at 100km/h that is closer to the rear of your car than 54m is tailgating. Even the police are guilty of this one!!!! |
