maybe you pulled that from a dictionary about the Commodore. I disagree with that definition. In my opinon a Commodore is NOT an admiral of any kind. something i heard which i found interesting...

relates to the nissan engines (ca18, sr20, rb20,30,25 etc)

ca, sr and rb are all elements on the periodic table which line up and are in that order...

apparantly... just heard it somewhere.. can someone confirm it...???

I just looked it up - they don't quite line up - but they are alkaline earth metals on the same side of the periodic table: see here in blue on the left hand side: http://www.webelements.com/
