what would be the prize for the series win? free supercheap seat covers for excell?

Evaded Motorsport
Post #92

Far out guys, $190 is a fantastic price to have a whole day of racing at Lakeside. At the end of the day this is a business it is not a charity. Going straight through Queensland Raceway costs the same amount however you do not have assistance from many of the various sponsors and the opportunity to share in some fantastic prizes.

Will be interesting to see how it goes Jeff, depending how things go we might pick up a cheap excel to take part. But I think we have too many toys as it is.

trackattack
Post #93

Yes the price is the same as what you pay when you book directly through QR to go to QR or LP.
But in addition we are organising and running the series and providing trophy's.

Plus we will probably provide some kind of series prize as we have lots of business who want to support grass roots racing.
including...

Evaded Motorsport
AusPerformance
Quattromotive Auto Tech
Specialised Driving
AMS Painting & decals

In addition to the stock class we will be including the "Excel Rally Series" cars in a separate.
This class will allow more freedoms for tyres and suspension for those who want to improve their cars.
It will also allow the rally cars to run in our series without modification.

Cheers Jeff

No this has nothing to do with cams.
Cages are NOT required for sprints.
Cages for circuit racing are Minimum 4 point cage.
building your own is no problem.

Price needs to be confirmed, but I think I can get a 4-point bolt in cage kit from between $300 to $600.

yes you can let your friends drive your car.
They need a AASA Clubman licence for sprints which is $20 for a day licence or $55 for the year.

Sorry for the many questions - will get my firewall sorted in the next few days.

How does the championship work ie points etc

I will be missing the first meet because im taking the lux down to half way havoc in NSW but wil make the rest

trackattack
Post #102

first place = 50 points
second = 45
3rd = 40 etc etc

we can also introduce a consistency component to help the slower cars if we need to.

Done and dusted. Will go tomorrow for a looksy and will find a car next week.
Will there be many excels ther tomorrow?

And does that mean you can potentially earn 250 points in a day at lakeside (yes im dreaming)?

Finally, if my mates are driving, does the car get the points for the cmapionship or is it the driver?

Not sure how many will be at Lakeside today, there were 2 at our meet there last sunday.
Points are round based, so for sprints best time for the day earns the points.
So if you share your drive you wouldn't be penalised for points.

Todays event was moved to 7th March, so we can run Excels on the 7th March if you guys are keen.
14th March sprint will still also run as calendared.

doesn't matter if we only get a couple of cars to the first couple of events,
Interest is growing in this, hopefully it will kick off big over the next few events.

How will this work for the actual races? can you swap drivers as well? I'm looking at splitting a car with a mate of mine and would like it know if you can swap drivers on races days, make it like team effort.

TrackAttack mate I'm loving your idea racing the most commonly stolen car around a race track, if only i wasn't putting all my spare cash into my europe trip i'd be there in a sexcel. If this series goes onto into next year i'd be keen as to thrash the shit out of a sexcel first race is the 7th of march at lakeside? keep me posted
cheers

Just a quick question on this comment!!!
How does the entry fee work in this case?? Especailly since its a "race" meet and not a sprint meet.
Do the "two" parties both have to fork out the ($190) each or would it be just the "one" fee, for the car.
It would be kinda stupid if the two drivers both had to pay for a full day racing and only getting a falf a day each out of it, if you know what i mean!!
I hope i'm makin sense here!!! :oopsie:

No the entry fee is for the car and the time that it uses.
so only one entry fee is paid per car for the circuit racing
at sprints if you want you can double enter the car which means 2 entry fees, but double the track time.
we have had cars triple entered at sprint days

PS QR sprints is cheaper than lakeside @ $120.00

first race is the 7th of march at lakeside?

The first "Sprint" meeting was originally the 14th of March, but due to rain the other day we now have 2 meetings at lakeside in March plus a meeting at queensland raceway.

UPCOMING EVENT DATES

Mt Cotton - Introduction into tarmac hillclimb $150 all day - Sun 21st Feb (this has nothing to do with the driver training center, so noise is not an issue)
Queensland Raceway Sat Arvo Sprint - $120.00 - Sat 6th March
Lakeside Sprints - Sunday 7th March $190 all day (Moved from feb due to rain)
Skidpan Lakeside DTC - $120 all day - Sat 13th March
Lakeside Sprints - Sunday 14th March - $190 all day
Circuit Racing Qld Raceway - Sun 28th March - $160.00 all day - need a roll cage !
Sprints & Khana Carnell raceway Stanthorpe - Sat 3rd April - $100 all day early bird rate

Cheers Jeff

The events on link below will earn points towards the series.
For Sprints we will run a separate point score for each track so it wont matter if you only attend one circuit you will still get points for that tracks series.
The circuit racing is only going to be 5 rounds, so that series will be a combination of both QR & LP (we wont count the 14th as its too close being this weekend)

edit: Beaten!

Needs more circuit IMO :oopsie: maybe a race in the months missing, and the 14th feb is a bit early to run a circuit. late march sounds good tho, april? Aug? oct?
I know there are sprints on some of these dates but once there are say 10 cars, I'm sure 90% of entrants would rather circuit race.

A roll cage + a harness that expires (and we dont have a trailer so looking to get it mod plated) for 5 races is... well rough.

Aus std harnesses dont expire, I have had the same harness in the car for years.
Dont forget this is AASA not CAMS so the rules are more suitable for the level of motorsport that we are doing.
