very true...hopefully people will stop standing out the front on their cars and watching and accually go in. because they'll be the ones who do loops down the street and fuck it for everyone. oh btw was that oil i seen dumped at the end of the street on sunday?

one of the security fellas said they are putting up a wall or something around there to stop noise, so it should hopefully stop them being able to look in for free aswell..... and yes i saw the oil there too, its shit like that, that will ruin an awesome thing like this... there were a group of ppl yelling out skid it at the end of the street too, when the legal burnouts are a short walk away... idiots!

looks good from what i have seen but it's all commo's and falcons. maybe when there is more of an interest from the import scene i'll come down and have a look. nothing worse than being the only import driver in a room full of holden drivers. great idea by the looks of it and the cops seem into it so maybe i can drive around without having to laugh at stock vs drivers trying to race me. if there are any import lads / lasses looking to go let me know.

dude.
sunday night
aswell as all the commo's there were utes, a silvia, 180sx, rx7, ae86 sprinter all skidding or at least having a go. thats what its about.

im an import man myself... but fuck...im still happy to pay and go watch commo's skid , thats what they do!!!!.... and not having to go "oh fuck cops.. bail bail." and spend more on fuel driving around to find where the skids are at on a normal thurs night etc.
primarily.....
Commo's = Skids
Imports = Drifts
but there are a few that can go either way...

I don't post on here very often, but I have been around the "brisbane cruising" areas for a good 10 years now.

Street Warz get my full support for what they are doing. Every time you are out on Thu, Fri, Sat nights or Sun arvo's... you always here someone say "why do the cops bust us - if they gave us somewhere to go it'd all be good".... well... here it is.

I would pay $30 to do a skid any day and as soon as the VL is back on the road it'll be there smoking it up.

Don't forget everyone - this is also a "hangout" area aswell. Come here and DON'T get hassled by the cops. Its what happens out cruising anyway! go somewhere and sit around talking to mates - checking out the cars... the only difference is no frenzied "arrrgggh.. the cops are coming!!"

Just remember - these guys that are organising it are new to organising an event like this (although not really new to the car scene though). I noticed a LOT of improvement from Sat night to Sun night.
- Parking was better organised inside the grounds
- Safety barriers were better down the bottom end
- more light over the skid pad

If the organisers are on here and would like some more constructive feedback here is *my* opinion.

- While its a great price to pay to do a skid - might want to review the amount for spectators. Bring a car full of people and all of a sudden its a $90 night out.... Maybe go for a smaller amount per person, do a "car full" special, or even "Season passes" (i'd be in for one of these!!!).
- Get some barriers up so you can't watch from the outside. I paid to spectate because i want to support this. Didn't stop the many people outside just watching through the fence.
- Possibly look at other "attractions" than just the burnouts - maybe have a dyno night.. a go to whoah night.. a motorkhana night... put some cones out on the pad and get people to go round them. Maybe have a few of these things throughout the night (1 hour of skids, then 1 hour of go to whoah, then another hour of skids.. etc). I know its just the beginning, but something to think about for the future.

some good suggestions there InsaneVL, I'd also like to see some different events. Being an AWD Driver, pulling a big skid isn't exactly the cars forte but dyno, go to woah and motorkhana could be good. I'll still go if they stay with burnouts, but some variety would be good considering the money they have spent to set the business up. Never hurts to broaden the appeal.

i agree with the pricing thing...

events that have been going strong for years don't even charge $15 to watch - Kalbar being one of them

man no wonder this site is considered to be a fucking joke.

someone has gone to the trouble to get something like this off the ground and all you little keyboard warriors can do is abuse him over the internet. whether he is computer literate or can spell doesn't mean shit.

$15 to spectate? It costs $19 to spectate at a test and tune you fucking idiots. What do you expect? him to put months of work and a few years wages into an event so you can come in for free.

I didn't hear about this event until it was over, few mates went n said it was tops. Next time you put this on make sure you start a thread on cruisingbrisbane.com, don't bother with this site, only ones on here that see these threads are stupid little wankers who scour the forum for ppl to burn, the car enthusiasts on here are either to busy cruising or cant filter through these tossers threads or even posts to see an event like this come up on the site.

yeah i agree.
as yous all know it is an ongoing war between cops and skid meets.
this is 'streetwarz' is going to be the best thing that could happen to the car community, and it is legalised.
people go to pinkenba, stains etc, and complain about getting defected or caught for doing skids for being there and watching skids and shit, but yous dont realise this is the 'legal' opportunity to do whatever you want on that skidpan and not get in trouble.
i even read somewhere that people from the gold coast are even coming up here.

so either support it, or go get caught and make a thread complaining about why you got defected or fined for skidding

There is a minority that does tarnish the group in general.

No point with cruisingbrisbane.com tho, all you will end up with is a whole car park of people standing around their cars speaking shit and not actually doing anything.

And you will find that they still will go to Browns Plains, Pinkenba, Nudgee Beach and all the other old un origional venues as well. Why?

Because they can, will and in reality, the fact it is illegal has its attractions for them.

There have been plenty of burnout comps held to the point where there used to be one every single week, yet it didnt stop people including myself, from going out and doing skids in industrial estates everywhere. Hell I entered every damn competition every single week from Ballina to Bundaberg, and every week I would be out there with the same people who attended the same events, doing it on the streets. And that was back when the cops used to come and watch, or at worst, tell us to move on.

There will always be the attraction of a non organised meet, impromptu burnouts and the allure of the fact you are doing something wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is a brilliant idea and hope it goes far, but sadly the youth of today have this dont care/no responsibility attitude which means it wont always cover all bases, even if the option is there. I hope it all goes well for the owner and it isn't turned into just another cash cow. Trick is to still keep it interesting and appealing to people.................

Not to mention that half of them are the rejects from here that have been banned.

IF there is something that is in here and its not up to scratch, report it.

One of us will have a look and tidy it up if need be.

now now, no need for forum bashing.

we may have the rejects, but we also have a community that actually gets along. believe it or not, some people appeal to that.

that said, as a partial owner of CB i am happy to support this event however possible. it's a great idea and i hope to see it last the test of time smile.gif

Rookie, if you had actually come out, and god forbid spoke to one of the organisers, you would quickly see there was nothing "under the desk" going on with it.

As for the funny flyer... Well if you couldn't see that was a pisstake, you need to venture away from google a little more often.
