Went and checked out the drifting yesterday! Considering it was the NT Titles, I was very disappointed with the numbers! Only 6 cars??!! Jason (this boy has skills) and Jarrod were both turning it up for the 1st round but we left shortly after. |

Went and checked out the drifting yesterday! Considering it was the NT Titles, I was very disappointed with the numbers! Only 6 cars??!! Jason (this boy has skills) and Jarrod were both turning it up for the 1st round but we left shortly after. I heard there was a little confussion with the outcome? Jason could've won the title by default (as Jarrod ran out of fuel) but decided he wanted to battle him for the title, but then blew a tyre so the title went to Jarrod (I think that's how it unfolded). Anyway, Jason was very entertaining and I look forward to seeing more of him in the future! I know Matty and Geoffs cars were off the road, but where were the rest of the drifters? This is supposed to be a growing sport, not a dwindling one Scotty Scotty thanks for the comments. good to see ppl out there in the crowd supporting these events. As with winning by default i called re run to battle Fordy. On the first lap i came in very quick and my key fell out of the inginition and steering locked at full lock (not fun at 120K). Fordy and i decided to rerun to give the crowd some entertainment to watch us battle properly. although the judges counted my spin before the judge started so i missed out on the win. but hey it was good to battle fordy so so close in the runs. exciting we didn't want to stop drifting after that. Zmit yes it was the NT tittles for drift too. yes poor turn out. but alot of ppl are getting there cars ready for the nite event comming up and few others away with there job. cheers jason |

none-the-less.... unexpected things still happen. we dont know why half the field wasnt out there... could be car problems (which is common) could be other commitments? - we dont know. also throwing it out there.... i'd treat the NT Titles as 'just another race meeting' though... another chance to race/drift.... i'm sure there are a few others around that think that too. So the NT Drag Racing Titles is just "another meet" huh? Yeah right! I'm glad everyone else doesn't think like you do Timmy! I'll quote you here " i'm sure there are a few others around that think that too"!! All I said was I was disappointed that there was only 6 cars out there with it being the NT Titles! Don't "specualate" as to why this occured as there could be 101 reasons why the entry number was low! Oh and just for the record, I don't care how many people would think like you that the NT Titles is just "another meet" because those people obviously don't understand what being the 2009 NT Titles Winner is all about! In other words Tim, these are the State Titles! Just "another meet" huh............ sheesh! :headwall: Scotty |

WELL... it was a bit quiet for an NT Titles I know Matty and Geoffs cars were off the road, but where were the rest of the drifters? This is supposed to be a growing sport, not a dwindling one Scotty so heres an idea of what the rest of the club was doing.... Brendon Fry - sold his car Danny Probert - has been making a new car Darren Ford - is in England Gavin Tucker - is in Bali Jay Cowie - sold his car? and love bound Ben Cowie - sold his car Jeff Balistic Dunkel - broken car... needs $$$ Joel Grant- broken car... needs $$$ Jordan Kemp - wants to sell it, so is not willing to put it on the line Lars Copcut - broken car... needs $$$ Matthew Lawson - broken car... needs $$$ Mitchell Allan Currey - away with work Shane Davidson - broke my car trying! Rhys Trezise - selling car I believe Christian ROTOR Marschall - moved to Adelaide I dont mean to speak for every one, but we dont all have that wonderful and vast cash flow that some have, and some of us have jobs that take us away, you are probably thinking, NT Titles, just do what it takes, but still we have to live first, then live to drift. And we cant change the date of the NT Titles just because it does not suit everyone, if that was the case, there just might not have been one this year due to the fallout of drifters in the last 3 months. It is important, and it is a "state title" but even Steven Bradbury came home with a gold Medal from the world event, the Olympics, after being the ONLY bloke to cross the finishing line. Like Bradbury's story, we all started out this year to win, we just fell over on the way, and it was just a few that managed to finish on the day that counted. Congratulations to the place getters, and more importantly the faithful few that do commit to trying to get to every meeting. Which brings me to this point.... NIGHT DRIFT October 31st are there enough of you out there to put on one more magic show for the spectators, and mad drift fans???? I have put a call out to all TEDA members, now Im asking YOU, the ones out there that have wanted to drift, can drift, have a car to drift, this is the time to step up, and be a part of the awesome fun we have at Night Drift, and be the one that helps us put on a show for every one else. If you have any quiries, ideas or wish to compete or even maybe SPONSOR someone who has a broken vehicle (hint hint, I can see a big "TOLL Priority" down the side of the VL Scotty. LOL) then please contact me at... [email protected] Thank You to everyone so far that has helped the club get to this level, lets stay positive, and keep the ball rolling into 2010. Cheers, Shane Davidson. www.teda.com.au |

Sad to here about the small turn out but remember Darwin is a small town and drift is bloody expensive! Been driftin Mallala since movin to Adelaide and the difference is huge. If you dont turn up early to practice you will miss out cos so many people turn up they have to turn cars away. The quallity of cars is crazy and the speed awsome. My skills have improved loads and im lovin the mega high speed of the track (160kph into turn 1!)Good luck to TEDA for night drift and look forward to seeing some vids. |
