Went to MTQ just then, he'd suplly me a turbo to suit for $1,800 oh and apparently i'd need to spend another $2,000 to make it work...

Slacks creek eh, i shall check. That'd be good stuff! It's been hiflowed and has the same spec as the HKS25/35...



Ok just checked, they're in Sydney, they're the only one in Aus. $675 min price for a rebuild. No fucking around with other oil and coolant lines and intakes. Looking like the better option atm. If you spot a turbo that would suit my car, such as a HKS2530 or even bigger, give me a PM.

That's what I thought you'd hear from MTQ lol. They must rebuild turbo's with gold or something. I'll keep an eye out but maybe you could just buy a brand spanker from nengun or something...

Not sure on the specs of the 2535, but here's the GT-RS for r34

The HKS GT-RS Turbine. This Kit comes with everything for a straight bolt on to the existing Flange. Parts included are the HKS heavy duty actuator, oil lines, gaskets and bolts. Rated at 400 PS 88.3kpa boost pressure. Priced at $2492.45

Still better than mtq lol.

wat brand turbo is it??

becoz i remember a couple of brands only sell the rebuild kits to
certain certified supplier/retailers.

then rebuilders/wholesaler/retailers like MTQ
cant purchase that from someone like GCG so they themselves have to send the turbo to them and pay for their services and the kit and then throw their fee on top of that.

so to cut out the middleman u get it from gcg and try get some sort of trade price if u can coz 5-10% at aniything over a few hundred is money better in ur pocket then theirs smile.gif

yeh i checked gcg site last nite and said was in sydney

but i used to ring them all the time for quotes, when i worked at gladdy autobarn and i swear they had a goldy/brissy number or store.
maybe it closed down....... hmmm

i had a GCG one in my liner, forget how much it was coz i didnt do it and i gave all the receipts to the new owner but i mite have some copies somewhere at home, will have a look for you ash

So your standard turbo has been hi-flowed Ash? Thats what I was thinking could have happened.

Lots of Slide Hi flow turbos seem to die, but generally the GCG ones have a good name.

Is it ball bearing? Most of the hi flows dont retain the ball bearing cartridge. And they are the ones that tend to shit themselves at 20ish psi lol.

Have you still got the turbo out and about Ash, I wouldnt mind checking it out.

Oh and does the rear housing have OP6 stamped on it?

if i wanted response i was thinking to4z or even better gt35/40 might be better... cant remember as all my turbo plans went out the window ages ago along with my money.

so when i get rest of my car sorted out ( tyres,clutch,respray) who wants to help with engine swap smile.gif anyone got any experience working with 2j's

hey guys cruise sounds like it went really good.. will have to make it to the next one. I said this in the other thread but not sure who will read it so I'll say sgain.lol We should get everyone together when Mopower Race Engines and Performance Dyno Centre has there grand opening dyno day. They are the new dyno shop opening up in Gladdy. Will have an AWD chassis dyno and an engine dyno.

Severe - you should give garth a call from there about your turbo. dont think he is back at work till friday but would be worth talking to him. there number is 49724883.

and maybe get a dif tune done on it if possible or advance the timing since i got the adjustable cams already installed just set as std. for the moment

but im guessing ill need a piggyback ecu first....... sad.gif


and to u ls1_toy nick i already have a 2jz-ge smile.gif i need a 2jz-gte
it would be alot easier to sell up and get a twin turbo 6 speed
but for me to make enuf on mine id lose out money on all my stereo and the hard work and exretemly intense labour that jake (aka JAK355) put into it
and also the paint is terrible and i would have to respray before i sold it.
not to mention its smacked 173,000kms recently so yeh

very soon im doing every suspension component and along with gearbox/dif service thats after tyres clutch of course.
just gotta wait to hear back from my new job prospects.........
