Well technically his MX5 is a bullet, as he has a completly built this car from the ground up... like you said, the only original thing on the car is the doors, and the boot... Has RX7 Suspension/Brakes, custom built chassis, custom 1 piece fibreglass bonnet... But now its getting a LS2 V8!! haha

No your wrong. So you're trying to say he should be saying. You are mate is saying a Bullet Roadster isn't fast enough?

When infact you're mate is proper. Do you do crack by any chance?

Are you kidding? You are mate saying. Haha and your telling some one how to use proper grammer.

Grammar wars 2.0. By the way it's "grammar" Not "grammer" thumbsup.gif

OT: Nice 180 mate, she has turned out really well, keep up with the good work. drool.gif

Who gives a flying about the grammar, its a forum get over it. Fantastic build im sure it hammers. I would make sure the suspension is set up, for good handling, the motor seems to be sitting nice n low too! awsome work

I go tno idea what ur on about sl8, but lay off the waccy tabaccy... it aint doin u any favours...

OT: Got the motor tuned up a bit on the weekend.. Plugged in the hand controller and changed the idle and a few other things. Also found a lose sitting fuse that was causing the motor to stall at Idle when the thermo fan would start...

As some of u may know if u have been following this thread, ive had issues getting a speedo in the car, so now ive had enough fucking around, and im gonna do a bodgy... I baught one of these yesterday..
http://www.superbike.co.uk/imageBank/t/Tra...ech%20Vapor.jpg

I know its for a bike, but im going to hack up my old Digi dash and replace the digital speedo with that, so it should fit together rather nicely... And the way it measures speed, is the same way mountain bike speedo's work.. u heard me... magnet on the wheel, and a magnet on the suspension or sumthing near enough... It also has a built in tacho (probs wont work with a V8) but also has temp sensors, trip meter, timer etc etc.. so should be pretty cool..

dont all speedos work that way though? maybe not on the wheel tho, drivetrain or sumten. if the speedo magnet is on one wheel, it will be inaccurate when you are turning because the wheel you put it on will spin at a different speed to the wheel on the other side of the car and will not necessarily be the forward speed of the actual car.

theres one front wheel - not two - on a bike, so its okay in that application. i would put it on the rear driveshaft instead so you get the accurate rotational speed from both the wheels, but then the speed's been changed by the diff anyway :S

Not all speedos work this way...
Most have a Gear driven cable that comes from the gearbox usually, or instead of a cable, the gear turns and generates a pulse, that pulse is then sent to the computer/dash.

This is a primitive version of what im talking about...
http://www.gadgetspage.com/wp-content/Speedometer1.jpg

But mine has come from a Honda Quad Bike.. And i havnt figured out exactly where im going to put it yet, but it will most likely be rear wheel...

I also have a tomtom which i have been using... So combine the 2 and i think i should be able to get a fairly accurate speed reading.. Eventually I will build my own dash, but thats when i can afford it!!

Well I have finally sorted my Speedo issue, still need to get it calibrated and make sure its accurate, but im using a Vapor Speedo/Computer off a Honda CRF250...
It is a steal for $200 i reacon, you get Speed (km or mph) Tacho (12000 RPM) Ambient Temp, Water Temp (with sensor in a T pipe) Odometer, stop watch, avg distance, max speed, trip meter, 2 LED warning lights for high and low RPM range Blue Backlit screen.
It works on the same principle as the old school mountain bike speedos (magnet on a spoke, with a sensor on the forks) I put my magnet on a bolt on the CV Closest to the Diff centre, and so far has worked for 3 weeks with no drama...

Taking the rig to a Dyno day in Labrador on the weekend, so I will hopefully have some figures and a video to share!

See that not means that's the one he is saying is incorrect/the one that should be used

sorry for bringing that from the grave haha people laugh.gif

Definitely an awesome build should hammer along nicely

Fuel guage works fine when u start the car.. after about 10 mins if goes to over full... I heard its a common prob in these cars, both of my brother had 180's and both of their fuel guages were weird, one would ALWAYS sit at 1/4 full, the other did wat mine does...

That car is hawt! Good job mate for saying you were going to do something then following through with it. Would have set you back a pretty penny but worth every cent by looks of it. thumbsup.gif

awesome work man smile.gif Me and a mate are looking to turbo mine in the cressida, if it's cheap enough and if my gearbox will stand up to it lol

brind0g
Post #124

cheers man, id love to see your conversion... that v8cressida.com site dosnt work? got any other links of it?

Im so close to single turbocharging mine.... these motors are pretty average up top without any major head work... turbo is a perfect excuse biggrin.gif

top end = cams and cams = expensive... make sure no more than 10psi cause anything over that and the factory gaskets start complaining, so i got cometic metal ones in case i go that way smile.gif

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_kMmr9R230

That's mine as of today, but that all has to come out again =[ Cause head gasket is leaking water, once that is fixed properly and motor pressure tested it's back in heh. My mate is also putting a 1uz in his ma70 supra hehe

I'll see my other mate in a few weeks and he will tell me how easy the turbo conversion is, it seems twin is possibly easier, even tho i wanted to go single, he pointed out a better way for a twin setup then bringing pipes around...

The car is at my mates place around logan area if you wanted to come look at it next week or something? Help me put it back together lol, and ask questions, my mate is the celsior/1uz guru for qld, and the dude i got to rebuild my engine is the 1uz/turbo guru for qld so it might be worth your while smile.gif
