It gives us great pleasure to confirm that Team Endless Japan will be returning with their RX7 in 2015 to compete in the Garrett Pro Am Class.

This team competed in 2013 and finished in the top five of Pro Am Class at their first ever WTAC. They will be returning with a much faster machine this year, once again driven by the highly capable Atsushi Shimaya.

Now sporting well over 600hp thanks to a GCG/Garrett GTX4088R turbo and a whole bunch of other upgrades the team will be looking to push well into the “20s” this time around.

The relationship with Endless goes far deeper than a sponsor deal for Shimaya-san as he is actually the head of R&D at Endless brakes and this car also serves as a mobile test bed for their products. The team will also be supported by R Magic when they venture down under in October. R Magic have been heavily involved in the upgraded aerodynamic package.

With an R Magic built 13B turbo the car has been progressing well in the local Super Battles at Tsukuba circuit in recent times. It’s apparent the team’s focus was to prepare the car for the much more free flowing Sydney Motorsport Park circuit.

The potent rotary engine is backed by a HKS 6-speed sequential transmission and an OS Giken Super Lock LSD. Endless Superfunction shocks are fitted to all four corners rounding out a total JDM-style build.

After all the hard work Shimaya-san just can’t wait to hit the track in Sydney. “I am really looking forward to this event again” he said “our car is in a much higher state of tune now and we really want to do our very best for Japan. We will be fighting for a podium finish”

We will be fighting for a podium finish this year for sure!

With Pro Am Class really moving forward in the past two years, it will be great to see another Japanese contender putting on a show for the fans.
