my computer decided to be a twat today, wouldn't boot up properly. not 100% on what the problem is - initially thought that one of the graphics cards may have been on the way out. changed them over to another card, still having the issue intermittently. so have ended up reinstalling the operating system. worst job ever / refinding all my programs / drivers etc. Could it just be the heat,we've had a couple of hot ones, when you were saying how hot it was for you yesterday, I had just finished the lawns, and you would swear someone hit me with the hose, and that's with a self propelled. One thing I'm glad about my new desktop, is that it's well ventilated. |

One thing I'm glad about my new desktop, is that it's well ventilated. i don't think so, the air con's been on the last two days, and although the computer room is still the warmest room in the house it isn't boiling hot. air con is good enough to take the edge off, without being brilliant. the Corsair h50 radiator cooling fan was the fan that failed. no idea how long it wasn't working for. wouldn't have been ideal. what was happening was when the windows was opening / starting the second monitor on boot up, the screen was going black as it switches both monitors on, and not coming back from that - even though your mouse pointer was visible. funny problem to track down. you could boot the computer up in safe mode with one monitor, it would sometimes work in normal mode with both monitors but would then fail upon reboot with all peripherals plugged in. i don't think it was a conflict with the peripherals, it failed with and without them being plugged in. anyway i've changed graphics card from 2 x gtx570's / sli to a single gtx670 and now re-installed the operating system and it all seems to be working again fine. it's been a couple of years since the operating system was installed and i'm pretty lax about de-fraging drives and updating drivers (yes drivers were checked / updated in the troubleshooting process - didn't make any difference). |

Even though it was shaping up to be a stinker of a day, a mate and I still smashed out 18.5km in Daisy Hill this morning. I PB'd on all tracks bar one and didn't have chain pop off once (single sprocket up front with no derailuer or guide, so it normally comes off once every ride). Pretty happy with our efforts and I'm glad I've been riding road when I can't make it bush to keeps fitness up! |

Dont worry Shuffs, the Australian sun will have bling plastic fkd in 2 seasons As much as I hate to say it,I think you're going to be right, both my kids,(the youngest is over 30,now) used to fold it down, and use it as a billy cart down the back access lane. Both axles were bent to the shit house, but there was no way I could get the wheels off when it was dispatched to the garbage bin. gym's are rife with 'joining fee's' and 'access card' charges. they're all much of a muchness. i'd have changed to anytime fitness except that i didn't want to have to 'lock in' on a twelve month contract. a 3 or 6 month change of scenery would do me good but i didn't want to change things up that much. |

So if you lock in 12 months but direct debit weekly,it costs you $14 a week but if you pay upfront for 12 months like Slav it works out to $11.50,so it seems to me Doc has the best deal paying weekly but only 40 cents a week more than Slav. You know $600 will buy me 20 cartons of good German Lager,I know what I'm spending my money on. |

there's nothing up on the northside that i'm aware of that matches that. maybe Goodlife at Aspley, but the facilities are a bit ho hum. Actually the building looks like it must have been a resort or function centre at one stage, it definitely wasn't its first purpose, that of being a gym. |

Whilst on the subject of motorway prangs, did anyone see the footage of that 170 vehicle pile up in America in the snow that happened a couple of weeks ago?My son showed it to me on one of his Facebook sites,I can only find news type links for it on YouTube, but it was just like watching lemmings jumping off a cliff, just went on and on. |

it's something you probably expect to see down the road after the car flys past you at that speed. pretty much Whilst on the subject of motorway prangs, did anyone see the footage of that 170 vehicle pile up in America in the snow that happened a couple of weeks ago?My son showed it to me on one of his Facebook sites,I can only find news type links for it on YouTube, but it was just like watching lemmings jumping off a cliff, just went on and on. i think i may have seen it on the news / or different footage. frankly, there's any number of the same type of accident each and every winter over in the USA. |

Was that the one where a guy was filming it from behind the fence? Some of those cars and trucks were coming in pretty fast.why drive that fast in a bloody snow storm That's the one,I was wondering when it was all going to stop. i think i may have seen it on the news / or different footage. frankly, there's any number of the same type of accident each and every winter over in the USA. Agree, what reminded me,was this picture of a bloke (that was in a 26 vehicle pileup) in what's left of his Silverado.Apparently, all he needed was two Bandaids, and some ice http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-na...ieve-hes-alive/ |
