there's a photo of where what countries rank respective to each other in the link, i cbf'd saving it to repost it. http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/it...BBtodnG#image=2 I'm pretty widely traveled, and taken as a whole, Australia is perhaps the 3rd most expensive place to live that I've ever been. As a side note, when I had the mirror replaced I also had the sideblades re-tinted pre-sale, as they'd gone a bit yellow (CF does that apparently). Now they are darker than the rest of the CF!!

did they find the person who damaged the cars? i'm guessing not..... days must be counting down 'til the move to Japan, have you sorted out accommodation? Nope, no idea. Tickets booked for 25/7. Hotel booked for the first 2 weeks - hopefully that will be enough time to find a rental. We plan to rent for the first year, then build in the second. The exchange rate is doing my head in though. I have liquidated all assets in Australia, and basically need to move my life savings to Japan. A prospect which at the current rate would cost me literally hundreds of thousands...which is not a pleasant thought. Side note: man, that F type SVR is really playing on my mind! Hope I get to see one at a motor show or something soon... |

Then just transfer assets over as it's favourable to you, or you need them for another purpose. you could even keep the SVR at your pad. I could drive it for you - just to keep the battery charged of course. |

Yeah fcuk that,i'll happily say no with a smile lol. From what I know,he's in jail for a minimum of 10 years. Don't ever turn down the opportunity for a promotion if it comes knocking - it may not be what you want - but if the compensation is worth it, then it could lead to even greater things / more toys / assets / early retirement etc etc. That's surprising - that he's got ten years plus. Good to hear, but still surprising. |

here's a different sound from Queen (from one of my fb feeds)...... QUOTE They removed instruments to isolate Freddie’s voice. When I heard THIS, I got chills Singers today simply have no talent compared to years ago, Freddie Mercury is a perfect example. In the video below, the instruments have been removed to isolate Freddie’s voice from Queen’s popular song, “We Are The Champions.” It’s incredible what Freddie can do with his voice. I wouldn’t hesitate to call this EPIC. What did you think? |

Pulling out of my own damn parking space. I always forget how much more car there is behind me when I drive that thing... Anyway, Suncorp actually offered me a spot tomorrow. I can't help but wonder if this has something to do with my appalling 12 month hail repair wait that ended with me getting so angry that the head of Suncorp Insurance called me up, apologised, and gave me his mobile number, lol. you're not having a good run, in the last year....... |

worlds longest rail tunnel QUOTE Discovery Channel-Gotthard Base Tunnel-Build it Bigger Documentary film Published on Mar 31, 2016 Science Channel - Gotthard Base Tunnel The Gotthard Base Tunnel is actually two main parallel tunnels measuring a record-breaking 57km each, served by a maze of access tunnels, shafts and passages. In total there will be 153.5 km of tunnel through the Swiss Alps. The project has been conceived to solve the problem of heavy European road traffic on this major route through the Alps, while simultaneously developing Europe’s high-speed rail network. The existing tunnel, much higher up, can only handle three-truck freight trains of up to 2,000 tons. The new tunnel will take 4,000 ton heavy freight trains – carrying entire trucks on board - effortlessly through the heart of the mountains. Passenger trains will be able to travel at speeds of up to 250kmph, resulting in a train journey time between Zurich and Milan of just two hours and 40 minutes – a third less than at present. But digging a tunnel underneath 3,000m mountains is going to take all the skill of some of the world’s leading engineers. Much of the geology that lies beneath the mountains was unknown when the project began. Problems that would slow the project down and give rise to complex engineering challenges have been a feature of building the tunnel. The planned completion date is 2015 but that may well slip. In fact, in July 2005, a tunnel boring machine (TBM), known as Gobi II, got stuck when it unexpectedly encountered a section of unstable, soft rock. The tunnel promptly collapsed in front of the TBM’s cutting head – and there is no such thing as reverse with a tunnel boring machine. Experts on the project found themselves with the unexpected task of trying to calculate the extent of the section of less stable rock, as well as having to rescue the TBM by digging it out of the place where it had got stuck – a process that would take several months. The Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) is a railway tunnel in the heart of the Swiss Alps expected to open in 2016. With a route length of 57 km (35.4 mi) and a total of 151.84 km (94.3 mi) of tunnels, shafts and passages, it is the world's longest rail tunnel, surpassing the Seikan Tunnel in Japan. Its main purpose is to increase total transport capacity across the Alps, especially for freight, notably between Germany and Italy, and more particularly to shift freight volumes from road to rail to reduce environmental damage caused by ever-increasing numbers of heavy lorries. A secondary benefit will be to cut the journey time for passenger trains from Zürich to Milan by about an hour and from Zürich to Lugano to 1-hour 40 minutes. The project consists of two single-track tunnels. It is part of the AlpTransit project, also known as the New Railway Link through the Alps (NRLA), which includes the Lötschberg Base Tunnel between the cantons of Bern and Valais and the under construction Ceneri Base Tunnel (scheduled to open late 2019) to the south. It bypasses the Gotthardbahn, a winding mountain route opened in 1882 across the Saint-Gotthard Massif, which is now operating at capacity, and establishes a direct route usable by high-speed rail and heavy freight trains. The total cost of the project is 9.8 billion Swiss francs, or US$10.3 billion. When completed, the Gotthard Base Tunnel will be one of the longest tunnel construction projects in the world: 20 years of constant construction and preparation. |

Good to hear, but still surprising. The opportunity versus rewards was appalling, putting in an extra 5 hours a week for $100 which means sweet fcuk all. With how we are travelling,we'll be buying a house once all legals are settled and i'm adding a KTM 1290 Superduke R to my stable in 2 weeks. The remainder money will be earning interest til I figure out whether I want to work 5 days/week or only work 3 for chump change lol. Apparently everyone involved sued and he had a shit house record. |

Completely fcuked ha, I will never lift past my head with my right shoulder and have a weight limit of 15kg for good, there has been no improvement on the condition in 7 months but its stabilised and what I have now is what I will have forever. The physio is to stop it from locking into place. |

The physio is to stop it from locking into place. The partners nerves in her hand are ruined, she will have the same condition for good and her kneecap will always be off centre and she'll walk with a limp. Technically i have a 'weight limit' too - or did - many years ago, in relation to a permanent back injury. After the initial adjustment in living with the injury - getting used to doing this differently - i can't stress enough, that the two major things i found that helped the most in overcoming those restrictions and living an 'almost' normal lifestyle has been the mental attitude and working out at a gym, and the improvement in body conditioning / strengthening or muscles / ligaments associated with it. I know my brother struggled for many years with a shoulder / neck injury - and 99% of it was the mental attitude that went with it, that stopped him from even trying anything. I was going to the gym for 18 months / and trying to motivate him towards making healthier decisions before he had his 'light bulb' moment and finally started taking control for his situation and started doing something about it. He's much more positive now (its taken him 2-3 years) as he's started and progressed with his gym work to a point where he's leading a healthy lifestyle and able to do mostly everything that he sets his mind to accomplish. Yeah, he's had a few set backs, as have i, but if you're determined to achieve something and focused towards it, then there's no stopping you. |

http://www.msn.com/en-au/entertainment/tv/...vl4R?li=AAgfLCP QUOTE Remember Curly Sue? She's got a killer set of pipes and just won The Voice.
Alisan Porter, the woman made famous at the tender age of 10 for her role as Curly Sue, has won the 2016 series of The Voice. Shooting to fame after starring alongside Jim Belushi, Porter later disappeared from public life, succumbing to addiction, like many other Hollywood child stars. It was only following her rendition of the song Blue Bayou - a performance which judges Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera all turned for - that Porter revealed who she really was. "Alisan, you're going to have so much fun on this show; it's going to be a blast," Shelton told her at the time. The former child star also explained that despite her former acting career, "It's not my passion. This is my passion." When Pharrell asked why it had taken Porter so long to get to where she is, the mother-of-two replied, "Honestly, I was going through a hard time in life and then I actually got sober almost eight years ago," which was met by a wave of applause from the judges and crowd. "I found love and I had children, and that was my goal - to just be a good mum. And I really feel like the universe just had a plan for me, because you guys turned for me today." And plan it did, because after joining Christina Aguilera's team the former child star leaped from one vocal challenge another, quickly separating herself from the pack and proving herself to be an untouchable talent. Along the way, Porter seamlessly tackled classic songs like The Eagles' Desperado, The Mamas and the Papas' California Dreamin', Joni Mitchell's River and the Carole King and James Taylor hit, You've Got a Friend. And on Wednesday night, Porter went on to take out the winning spot of the show's 10th season. It was Aguilera's first win as a coach. |

http://www.foxsports.com/motor/story/f1-20...roscreen-052816 QUOTE F1 selects Halo cockpit protection over Aeroscreen for 2017
F1 cars will reportedly be fitted with a further development of the Halo cockpit protection system in 2017. Germany's Auto Motor und Sport said the decision was taken by the FIA as well as team technical directors during a five-hour meeting at Monaco's Novotel hotel on Friday. The decision to definitely push ahead with a controversial covering for the premier open-cockpit formula followed a scary incident in Thursday practice, when a flying metal drain cover was hit by Jenson Button's car. "We must make sure that the risk for all of us (drivers) is reduced to the minimum possible," fellow F1 veteran Fernando Alonso told RTL broadcaster. The 2017 Halo will in fact be a development of the black carbon version seen on the Ferrari earlier this year, in stylized titanium and possible to open via a hinge. But it is believed the Red Bull-devised Aeroscreen - favored by many in the pitlane - is still in the running to replace the halo for 2018 and beyond. |

scratch that, it's not in anyway a 'technical' comparison, it's just them being their usual dickish selves / self promotion. |
