QUOTE A NEW SPACEBALLS MOVIE IS IN THE WORKS, ACCORDING TO MEL BROOKS
Now that Star Wars has returned in full-Force, now seems like the perfect time for its parody counterpart, Spaceballs, to grace us once again. Released in 1987, the film has aged beautifully, and now it seems like Mel Brooks—who wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the original—has his sights set on a sequel. Brooks was on Adam Carolla’s Take A Knee podcast earlier this year, and it was there that he confirmed a sequel is in early phases of development. As far as details go, however, Brooks revealed that he hopes to start filming in 2016 and bring back as much of the original cast back as possible. Even better? He’s tentatively titling the film Spaceballs: The Search For More Money—a brilliant callback to the merchandising of the first movie. There are several significant hurdles this production would need to overcome, however: mainly the passing of several cast members, including John Candy in 1994. We’d almost rather see a sequel not bring back his character Barfolomew than cast somebody in the role who won’t be able to capture his spirit, which is certainly a tall order. Dick Van Patten and Joan Rivers—the other two deceased cast members—also played important roles. Then there’s Rick Moranis, who played Lord Dark Helmet and is in a pseudo-retirement at the moment, having only appeared in a few voice roles since 1997’s Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves. There are substantial obstacles in the way of a Spaceballs sequel happening, but let’s not forget that we still have Mel Brooks, a comedy genius and legend who should be able to figure out a solution that respects the franchise and is more than a nostalgia tour. Needless to say, we’re here for this, Mel. HERE.FOR.IT. Let us know if you are in the comments below! |

NOPE Wouldn't let me back in,but this is from another article QUOTE Mehajer, along with his sister Fatima Mehajer as well as associates, are accused of falsifying documents in the lead up to the poll, which saw Salim [/b[b]]Mehajer elected to the Auburn council by more than 500 votes. In total, eight candidates, including the Mehajers, have been charged. They could face sentences of up to 10 years if the allegations are proven. They face accusations of producing false or misleading documents which wrongly claimed candidates lived in the council area, allowing them to run on two tickets led by Salim Mehajer and Fatima MehajerWith 77 per cent of Auburn voters ticking the box ‘above the line’ in the 2012 elections, the alleged ring-ins could have proved the linchpins in Cr Mehajer securing the last spot in the council chamber. The AFP began its three-year-long probe in August 2012 after the Australian Electoral Commission noticed inconsistencies in nomination paperwork. The investigation led to a printer being seized during raids on Salim Mehajer’s properties. It has been alleged the documents and the machine have been forensically linked.. and a bit more from that first subscription article QUOTE Fatima Mehajer was running as a candidate in the second ward at the election on September 9.
About two dozen applications were processed before inconsistencies were noticed and suspicions raisedFurther checks allegedly revealed that several dozen of the online applications had been submitted from a computer located at the Mehajer family’s home and another at their business address. When AFP officers later raided Mehajer’s property at Lidcombe they located a printer that appeared to have the same security identifier as some posted application forms. Phones were also seized that revealed text messages allegedly relating to the suspicious applications sent to the AEC.While Fatima Mehajer was unsuccessful, her brother was elected to the fifth and final spot on council by more than 500 votes.. |

There's a shitload more, but I have had enough of Travers for today still got time for ole mate? or have you moved onto bigger and better douchebags? http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/sa...KeBP?li=AAgfYrC QUOTE Salim Mehajer facing 10 years' jail on vote fraud charges blames 'hidden agendas'
Sydney's most controversial deputy mayor, Salim Mehajer, says he is the target of "hidden agendas" to remove him from Auburn Council following new allegations that he forged electoral documents to rig the 2012 council ballot. The Australian Federal Police confirmed on Sunday it had served court attendance notices on Mr Mehajer and seven of his associates for electoral fraud offences, after a referral from the Australian Electoral Commission in August 2012. Mr Mehajer told Fairfax Media it was "all a political game targeting Auburn Council as a whole; just like how we were confirmed to merge with Strathfield, Burwood and Canada Bay" and now Holroyd Council. "Welcome to politics," he said. "It's full of hidden agendas to make me step down." Mr Mehajer learnt on Friday his council role will cease to exist when Auburn merges with Holroyd Council under government plans to cut 43 Sydney councils down to 25. He questioned the strength of the AFP's case, saying the matter was "open in 2012". "If their case was strong, they would of [sic] not let me sit a day on council," he said. "I sat four years as deputy mayor; so why didn't they act earlier, when the case was open and when I personally contacted the AFP many times in 2012, 2013 and 2014 to take this matter seriously and deal with it as priority." Mr Mehajer and his sister Fatima, 25, are facing charges of using forged documents and producing a false or misleading document, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. Mr Mehajer's brother-in-law, Jamal Elkheir, and five others who ran as candidates in the poll, are facing charges of producing a false or misleading document, for which the maximum penalty is two years' imprisonment. All eight are set to face Sydney's Downing Centre court in February. It is the latest in a string of legal battles for the 29-year-old developer, who pleaded not guilty in November to intimidating Bruce Herat, the father of Sydney siege survivor Joel, at Anytime Fitness Gym at Burwood. Other court disputes include an action by the liquidator of one of his companies to claw back almost $700,000. He is also being sued for almost $2 million by a commercial finance broker. The controversial developer first made headlines in August for his show-stopping, lavish wedding in western Sydney and has since resisted repeated calls from fellow councillors to resign as deputy mayor. |

http://www.msn.com/en-au/motoring/news/who...FTZV?li=AAgfYrD QUOTE Who’s to blame if my parking sensors fail and I crash?
Practical Motoring Cars are being fitted with ever more sophisticated parking and safety aids, so, can a driver blame the manufacturer if the parking sensors fail and I crash? A reader asks: "What is your opinion on the liability for an accident with all the driver aids being offered on a car. For example, if you are using the park assist and the thing fails like all software will and you run your VW into a Maserati, who is liable? Has this been tested in a court yet?" We put the question to Michael Coldham, a lawyer specialising in this subject: "The answer is even with all mod cons you the driver are responsible to any third party for your negligence in the driving management and control of your vehicle. As with all things mechanical the federal trade practices act gives a right of action for breach of contract or sale of faulty goods so it could be that an action lies against the seller." Michael R Coldham & Associates was established in 1977 and offers specialised legal services for motor vehicle accidents, debt recovery, conveyancing, small business matters, civil disputes and wills. The principal, Michael Coldham, has also held positions on various boards and served for several years as president of 4WD Victoria, President of the Victorian Ski Association and the Chair of the Kerang Business Council. This answer is provided on an as-is basis and readers must consult their own laywers for advice specific to their circumstances. Practical Motoring says: The question about being able to blame manufacturers for crashes comes up time and time again, especially now we have many driving aids, and driverless cars are nearly here. To some extent the question has been around for decades. What if the brakes fail on a car, or the throttle is stuck? The answer there is whether or not the car had been properly maintained (mechanic's fault), operated (driver's fault) or if there was some inherent design flaw (manufacturer's fault). For example, take a car to a racetrack and run it hard, then find you can't stop...your fault. If your mechanic fails to tighten the caliper bolts - his/her fault. But if there's some basic issue such as brake line splitting open on a reasonably new car even though the car was maintained and operated correctly then that's the manufacturer's fault. But driving aids - active cruise control, AEB, reversing aids and the like - are a bit different, because they're helping the driver, not just controls to operate. The key point here is "aid". Every single one of these aids carries a disclaimer saying you the driver are responsible. There are extensive lists of circumstances in which the aids may not work, and reminders you need to check independently. If the manufacturers said "yes, you the driver need do nothing, our systems take care of it all" then they would be liable. But they don't, and won't. In 2015 you the driver still need to take responsibility for your own actions, and driver aids are exactly that, aids. |

Bit of a coincidence K,the weather site on Facebook that I monitor, posted this pic of St Joseph lighthouse on the Great Lakes.Apparently they have snow storms around the lakes, like we have dust storms here, sunshine one minute, then snow storm, followed by sunshine, and it creates this effect. QUOTE Conditions are very cold around the Great Lakes at the moment (i.e Green Bay, Chicago, Grand Rapids, Detroit and surrounds) mainly due to El Nino. Conditions are forecast to stay relatively warm (for them) heading into Christmas and for the first time in a while there may not be a white christmas due to showers hanging around. It is cool to see what Lake Michigan can produce - this is one of its featured effects along with Lake Effect Snow (The entire Great Lakes region is reportedly the only "lake" to produce it in the world) Then a Canadian chimed in re the storms QUOTE we are from Ontario Canada and have driven thru lake effect snow squalls in Ontario - originating from Lake Huron, and in upstate New York, originating from Lake Erie besides the lake effect squalls we have endured in Michigan from Lake Michigan - perhaps it is phenomenon of The Great Lakes - the cold winter jet stream winds blow from the north west across the The Great Lakes and pick up moisture that becomes a 'wall' of snow - you can drive from sunlight right into these snow storms - much like sand storms - drive for 30 minutes with almost zero visibility and come out on the other side into sunlight again - it is very freaky - sometimes it is just and unusual amount of snow that falls in the lea of any of the Great Lakes Would be great to see IRL! |

Disney introduce metal detectors to prevent people carrying guns onto the premises, introduce added security measures......... QUOTE Disney fans surprising reaction to new metal detectors “If we’re going to be a nation of guns,” Allison Brinsley tweeted. “We need metal detectors.” That was just one of the thousands of messages that populated Twitter after Disney announced that they were upping security measures at their theme parks in Florida and California. The December 17 announcement will affect Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure. The new measures include installing metal detectors, banning toy guns, and deploying more security guards and dogs. Guest over the age of 14 will also be prohibited from wearing costumes to the parks. This news comes just weeks after a terror attack in San Bernardino, California, where 14 people were gunned down during a Christmas Party. |

just make sure that they're 18. QUOTE Dutch driving instructors can trade lessons for sex
(CNN)Well it brings a whole new meaning to the saying "going Dutch..." Ministers in the Netherlands have confirmed that it is legal for driving instructors to offer lessons in exchange for sex. Prostitution is legal and regulated in the country, where workers are considered "self-employed" and can openly advertize in newspapers and online. The Dutch government tackled the issue head on after Gert-Jan Segers, of the socially conservative opposition party ChristenUnie (Christian Union), tabled a question in parliament in November. Segers described such transactions as "illegal prostitution" and called for them to be banned. He argued that learner-drivers would not have the requisite escort license, and so would not be declaring any sexual acts for tax reasons. But Melanie Schultz van Haegen, the country's Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment, and Security and Justice Minister Ard van der Steur said that while the policy -- widely dubbed "ride for a ride" -- may be "undesirable," it is not against the law, provided both parties are over 18. They said that if the transaction were reversed, with students proposing "personal services" in return for lessons, then this would be unlawful. "It's not about offering sexual activities for payment, but offering a driving lesson," the two ministers said in a letter sent to parliament on December 8. "It is important that the initiative lies with the driving instructor, and focuses on offering lessons, with the payment provided in sexual acts. "When a sexual act is offered as a commercial business, that is prostitution." Sentina van der Meer, a press officer for the Ministry of Security and Justice told CNN: "It is important to know that it is not known as a common phenomenon." However, little data is publicly available and a recent investigation by Rotterdam police into so-called "sex exchanges" has not been published. |
