I shoot in raw when i have room on my card for the file size, and also when i have access to a good computer for converting. With most of my work i have to fit like 500 shots on my card so yeah.

Film is great, but it takes a bit to learn. It is definately an art in itself:)

Ok, righto. What size car do u have?
Yeh I have never done film stuff, I am self taught on digital. Never done courses and stuff like u have so like I said, I have NFI

Once again Harry loving your work, like those random shots you took, especially of the water and the kombi

I use a 512mb high speed card. I would get a 2gig, but im paranoid about shooting everything on one card, then losing it and everything with it. At least if i have multiple smaller cards i can never lose an entire job, i will always have something left.

I find that i get what i need shooting jpg at full res, unless its like a huge landscape where im a bit unsure about exposure, but my computer is not good at converting raw coz i think the program is a bit dodgey and it cant handle the file size.

Mate, I have spent some time going through your pics and I think you are doing really well, you have a good eye and are quite creative, I can imagine that with a couple more years under your belt you will be turning out some really sweet pics.

You just keep getting better dont u Harry. I love the jetty shots. The strong line and the red jumper your mum is wearing really draws your eye to her. Strange how you can do that with such a small subject in the distance.

Btw have you considered doing some model shots? Just something a little different..

Looking great wink.gif

Hey Harry, love the shots taken under the bridge. The black and white version of the first photo is a really good way of drawing attention to textures of the wood. Just goes to show you don't always need colour!
Talk to u soon, Ange x

I got bored the other night so I thought rather than trying to take an picture of some shit little thing in my house in a cool way, i thought i would take a picture of whole rooms in my house with me in them in cool ways.

I had done a bit of reading into super-long exposure, like 10-30minutes! so i tried it out. i set my camera to it's lowest ISO (200), apature at f.22 (inside) or 5.6 - 8 outside (moonlight is bright!), set the focus to manual and got some blu-tac and tape to hold the button down.
I got bored of doing things like this one

Which is a 15 minute exposure of my pizza oven outside in the pitch black at about 11.00pm at f.5.6 (outside).

So I tried doing this kind of thing, with a torch and me as as the model tongue.gif There is NO photoshopping in any of these, just turned the torch off and u cant see me move around.

this was my first attempt
then this
finally this arvo I closed the blinds and my sister shined the lamp on me
and this turned out

U guys shoud try it, its fkn easy!

Cheers
Harry

That stuff is awesome fun. I did that in an attic in New Norcia.
What you should try is being in a pitch black room and using your flash (you know the one you nearly blinded me and Ange with by flashing it in our eyes!!) and get someone to flash you with that in random parts of the room. Because the flash is faster and brighter you wont be blurred in the shots.

I think the problem with the flash is that we did it in a much bigger space so it didnt reflect back into the lens as much.... and aswell did you have the candles lit? we did it in complete blackness. why don't you try it in an open area outside???....

and your grandma is so not 200! don't be mean hahaha!

I tried it today in complete blackness with no luck. My grandma's one was done with a torch, not a flash.
And ur right she isn't 200, shes more like 130.
I'll try again, when I can find an open area outside that is black, so i need to wait for no moon.

Ignore Nickle's crazy talk about photos, I have the real shit right here! Nickle and I went to Cott Beach today and took some pix for her art thingo, anyway she put up the shitty, unedited, basic quality (as opposed to med, high or RAW) so I have told her to take them down and I'll put up the edited RAW's.

This is them
