OK, here is an update for everyone that is interested.

I have been speakin with Brad. He is the owner of the airfield, i have emailed him more details, and he said he will be getting back to me hopefully within the day.

So i need to find out more information, can everyone that is interested in coming plz send an email to [email protected], please let me know what type of car, and how many ppl will be coming with u, if you will be racing or just watching, and also can you make the subject of the email AIRFIELD.

Me and a mate that is helping are currently in talks with a car magazine to see if they would be interesting in coming to do some stories and things on the event. So hopefully it will be a good day.

I will keep you posted when more information comes my way, lets all pray that the email i get back from brad is a good one. biggrin.gif

Catch you all later

Ok first of all before ya all take this the wrong way I thought I'd give you a few facts:

There is no way, repeat NO WAY you'll race two cars side by side down the kooralbyn air strip, it is NOT wide enough!

secondly, the surface of the air strip is SHITE, it's like a cheap d-grade rock and tar road, and very un-even.

third, there is a BIG fuck off river on one side and a drop onto the road on the other side and at the end of the run-way the same river.

now the reason I know this is I went to school at Kooralbyn for 9 years, I worked at the Golf Course for two years, my sisters boyfriend is a Sky-Diver & does all the filming for the Jump crew out there, my sister works as a part-time receptionist for the Kooralbyn Air-Stripe so I Also know Brad Turned personally.

and myself & BoostedS15 were just out at Kooralbyn on the weekend for a Golfing adventure and after seeing this thread and seeing the air strip there is no way it could work.

And the last thing, Public Liability, if you have any more then 6 cars out there then in the eyes of the law you are classed as Group/Club therefore requiring public liability insurance, and in this sort of event where the public and others could be in SERIOUS danger you will be in all sorts of problems if something does happen

But, by all means go ahead to conitinue to orginise it, this is just my two cents worth...

Cheers,

BELIEVE this, i saw it with my own eyes and saw it wasnt gunna happen, i wont run my baby down that rough road. its just not safe there...........ahhh well......was a great idea, but the public liability thing is DEFINTALY gunna kill any of these sort of ventures. SORRY GUYS.

i think that it was a good idea more investigation needs to go into to it. i think that if everyone is still keen on it after reading wat was posted previoulsy someone should go out to the strip see wtf is going on and take some pics and upload them onto here then let everyone who wants to go decide if they wanna run there car down it.. that is my suggestion personally if it works out it is good cause it just means another excuse to get on the piss as a have no liscence

kroosn
Post #103

well thats easy then just run it every weekend and only have 6 cars. youll just have to be on a waiting list. pffft as for the surface we used to race between cane paddocks on dirt cant be worse than that surely. but yeah itll probably die like every other good thing that happens
