Um you could just bolt a trubo on the sr20de and running about 10-12psi with bigger injectors, intercooler, oil cooler, fuel pump, remapped computer and a few other things. You will have excellent response and high levels of torque; more than the standard sr20det. However, to make this effective you must have the setup properly tuned. |

Yes you can turbo an SR20DE. You don't need new pistons, you don't need a turbo timer. What you do need is a turbo and manifold off an SR20DET, otherwise an aftermarket SS one as they are so cheap no. You will also need DET injectors. |

I think C-red in Perth do this type of conversion and seem to get good results. |

This begs the question....why re-invent the wheel? It would be a lot less trouble (less heartache, less work, and probably less money) to just put an SR20DET in....instead of trying to grow the DE into a DET. |

That may be true, but what about in the future when you kill an engine.....a DE is certainly a hell of alot cheaper than the DET. You would get 3 DE's for the price of 1 DET. Given a "normal" amount of boost, under 10psi for example, i doubt the DE would blow up 3 times in the lifespan of one DET. (Taking into considerationthat the DE's Life was probably alot easier than the DET, afterall, turbo vehicles are bought to be thrashed) |

Reportedly these conversion produce a mountain more torque due to the higher compression ratio in the DE engines. |
