Alot of it comes down to car set-up, if your going out to try and break your 60ft times then you adjust the ladder bars accordingly. I think before we cast judgement we should find out if the car was using a very large touque converter, and what sorta rear end. |

QUOTE `nigno: I am flicking through my ANDRA book and cannot find one for specifically wheelie bars. Most of the fuel cars dont run them, so i'd imagine if there was a rule that it would blanket cover group 1. Cheers Craig That was my thinking too... although without having proper knowledge was hesitant to give out incorrect info cheers for clearing it up though EDIT: Just thought of something to... possible throttle may have jammed and it took him that long to hit the emergency kill switch. I didn't mean my previous posts as a harsh dig at the driver and team, there are many things that could have attributed to it... I just think that if it was due to ignorance and lack of preparation that they are fucking idiots coz ppl can get seriously hurt (other than the driver which is pretty obvious). |

QUOTE 'nigno - its clear you dont know what the hell your talking about, so please dont bother posting trash... No one knows for certain if the car is going to pick up the wheels, there are way too many factors in it to even begin guessing. And calling a "drag team" stupid is silly in itself as this guy may be a privateer entrant as I do not see any corporate sponsorship stickers plastered all over the car. So please, for your sake, do yourself a favour and dont post rubbish. Hahahahahhaa living up to your name Silly Silvia It doesnt take a genius to work out slicks + big hp = wheelstand.... I dont give a fuck if he is a privateer or sponsored... he is still a dickhead if that was caused by ignorance and lack of preperation So you can shut your fucking mouth, have a good day |

Also when you said lack of preperation you just didn't say that, you said because of a wheelie bar |

I would say this is your last post because you have run out of bullshit to spin... QUOTE(`nigno @ Aug 30 2005, 11:19 AM) I apologise for my concern with ppl's safety very silly of me to get passionate and irrate when there are ppl's wellbeing at stake As for top fuelers etc running big hp with no wheelie bars.... wheelbase ???? aerodynamics... rear end setup etc Nah that couldnt have anything to do with it. This is my last post in this thread as its becoming pointless all im saying is that it was fucking dangerous and if it was the driver/teams fault they should be ashamed of themselves for a) putting the driver at risk b) everyone else surrounding the car including spectators Have a good day chaps. Hook up Wheelspin With massive HP and big slicks it can work either way, its as simple as that... Hit the nail right on the head with that one, track and air conditions come into factor |

QUOTE But there is no point explaining that to an drag safety expert like you is there? Did I ever claim to be an expert, hence why i asked someone about the regulations regarding wheelie bars, I was merely concerned for the safety of ppl and as a result have suffered abuse from the know alls Say what you want i still stand by my comments... safety first in my mind |

Some of the classes that people compete in wheelie bars are not legal to use for the class, so this may be the case with the above car. Sports RWD in the Andra sports compat classes is one such category where wheelie bars are illegal, so before you launch into an attack about the sanity or mental competency of the competitors, officals, etc, it might be best to understand the class rules first. |
