Oh, and GSXR engines come in 600, 750, 1000 and 1400 (In Japan only I think?) sizes... I'm not 100% on that but I'm not a bike nut either.

motor bike turbo, would be the best way to go about it. but i rekon u would hav hard traction problems as soon as it kiks in,

i know someone building a motor bike and it camer std with a tubo and holey shit does it go runs that same turbo a hi l;ux has and he is running 10psi and once itsa on boost smoke arama

Well Me and a Buddy Are building Turbo Kart using a bike engine

we have the disk break wheels and we are using a axel type set-up
we got a Trail Bike engine coming soon
also have a diff out of a ride on lawn-mower
and stearing stuff will coem from a ride-on as well

Frame will be made out of half-inch box steel and bigger bit when needed
Aluminium for the floor

I'll keep u posted when we get it going

ive been doing heaps of research into turboing small motors.
u can get turbos of about the right size but end up abit too pricey plus for a 250cc well ahh good luck tryn to get a turbo u will get 4psi outa it if that!

but i have got pics of turbo stuff on my pc so ill dig them up n post! ones of the beer keg go kart, some other go kart thing that i cant find ne info on, and a turbo barstool also video plus pics of a turbo on a 5hp briggs n the turbo is a garret outa a volvo but the dik is running the turb dry (he says its for show purposes)

well ill dig them out n show ya's!

ive done hours upon hours of searching on this stuff n have found a webpage full of little retards that want help on making go karts but its interesting to read the good posts!

ne way i dont think ill end up eading down the road of turboing ill just b using a smog pump as a supercharger....

i do believe u can get turbo kits for gsxr 1000 motors.... that would make things interesting to say the least. they use a t28 size turbo. larger then i thought but i fella i know was thinking about ordering one for his, said u need a decent turbo cause of the revs. how many cars u know rev to 16,500???

hey thanks for all the replies and all that. now i am after a gokart frame at the moment doesnt matter wat condition and all that or wats on it just need the frame and ill start work on it from there. now that gsxr1000 engine u were talking bout has that got a 6 speed. and does anyone know how to adapt the gearbox into the gokart b/c ive never heard of a manual go kart.

Well...

Most motorbikes are a chain drive and most go karts are also a chain drive to a solid rear axle. So you take the chain from the gearbox and pass it over the sprocket for the rear axle and hey presto gearbox connected to the rear axle.

The gearchange and clutch you just have to modify the bike ones with linkages and cables to get a setup you are happy with.

I have a GPX250 motor complete and running with a 6-speed box if anyone is interested smile.gif 36hp I believe they are...

ive started smog pump a small 4hp ohv motor with a mate..... started it today ...... we b awesome we r going to run a blow through carb... tiz b cool
