Does anyone know what requirements are there, if any, to transfer registered ownership from one family member to another? Is the usual roadworthy certificate and all that crap still necessary (as when you legally sell a car) or can it be done with just a completion of a form at QLD Transport and possibly pay a small fee? The transfer does not involve any third party - it is simply a change of ownership from one family member to another. The car is still to be kept within the family. Hope someone who might have done this before or knows some info about how QLD Transport handles this can help.

get a change of registration form it outlines the whole thing. if its from family member to family member/deceased estate etc you dont have to pay stamp duty, you do though need a safety cert etc. but yeah the whole thing explaining it is on the papers, which you can download from transport.qld.gov.au as well |
