wanna hook it up to the computer. u ment to get a better reading if u hook the tacho up to the computer and not the crank angle or coil or wot ever else reads the revs. |

auto elect cost money ( cheaper if i luckyenough to find someone with a rb that has done it before )..... na no manual... bit of a let down i spose |

There will be a tacho output that will be suitable. There is a possibility that you will have to put a pull up resistor (about 5k) between the output and +12V(ignition) to get a signal for the tacho as they are often an open collector output. To find out which one it is you may need an oscilloscope or a wiring diagram for the engine. Assuming you are in Brisbane you should go to Max Instruments or some other VDO dealer (remember to kiss their ass because you didn’t buy their product) and get them to do it, or at least suss out the signal wiring. |
