Yep, most suburban streets have overheads, though there are plans to get them all buried before the olympics. Either way, they aren't over the land so should be fine. |

So the garage being undrneath doesn't count towards the 10m height restriction? am i reading that right? I guess i'm not surprised that lands expensive over in Japan, there wouldn't exactly be a lot of new housing estates being opened up like there is over here. but one of the reasons that Japan has good public transport infrastructure and we don't.... Yep, just counts for floorspace, but at 50% rate. Land's not really expensive here at all in general, just in central tokyo it's comparable to the most expensive parts or Syd or Melb. Go to "the country" which to Tokyo people means more than 30 min on the train, and land is actually way cheaper than the Australian equivalents. |

http://www.nbcnews.com/business/autos/gene...sm_npd_nn_fb_ma QUOTE General Motors Sells Opel, Vauxhall to PSA for $2.3 Billion
General Motors has agreed to sell two loss-making car brands to a French manufacturer, a deal announced Monday that valued the businesses at $2.3 billion. Its sale of German-based Opel and British-based Vauxhall to PSA Group would create a new regional car giant to challenge market-leader Volkswagen. PSA Group, which makes Peugeot and Citroen cars, vowed to return the brands to profit. "We're confident that the Opel-Vauxhall turnaround will significantly accelerate with our support," PSA Chief Executive Carlos Tavares said in a statement issued by the two firms on Monday. Image: Opel factory in Ruesselsheim, Germany The production facility of car maker Opel in Ruesselsheim, Germany. DANIEL ROLAND / AFP - Getty Images The deal foresees taking over 12 manufacturing facilities employing 40,000 people, according to The Associated Press, but Tavares sought to allay job-loss fears by promising to keep existing GM commitments to workers. By acquiring Opel, the French group leapfrogs rival Renault to become Europe's second-ranked carmaker by sales, with a 16 percent market share to VW's 24 percent. Last year, PSA and GM Europe recorded 72 billion euros in revenue and 4.3 million vehicle deliveries between them. The sale of Opel seals GM's exit from Europe. Eight years after coming close to selling Opel to Magna International, the Detroit auto giant has faced investor pressure to offload the business and focus on raising profitability rather than chase the global sales crown currently held by VW |

However big you're thinking of building the garage, double it. i bet you're excited to never have to move again. Unfortunately the garage is fixed to the house but it's motorcycles only so we won't be short on space We're trying to utilise every ounce of space we can. It's slowly sinking in that this is our forever home as we've been living at our current home for 16 years. |

Having a house. I think the further that FF gets from it's roots, the more entertaining it's becoming. I've never been in a position prior to the accident to buy a house We were shot down years ago when we were pulling in $110,000 per year on joint income, apparently wasn't enough for a $300,000 loan. |
