VOICE OF JUDY JETSON, JANET WALDO, DIES AT AGE 96

Janet Waldo, best known as the voice of Judy Jetson on the hit cartoon show "The Jetsons," has died. She was 96.

Waldo's daughter Lucy Lee confirmed to ABC News that Waldo died Sunday morning.

Lee said her mother had been diagnosed with a benign, but inoperable brain tumor five years ago.

Waldo, a Washington native, played several roles for radio and television, but was best known for her work as Judy Jetson, the teenage daughter of George and Jane Jetson.

"The Jetsons" ran from 1962 to 1987 and included a big-screen adaption in 1990 called "Jetsons: The Movie."

Chris Evans to take back seat on Top Gear role after ratings plummet

Despite Chris Evans' protestations, the long-awaited new series of Top Gear has had a seriously tough time of it, both critically, and ratings-wise.

The third episode of six in the series went out on Sunday but overnight viewing figures were down on the previous week, which in turn were down on the first episode. A live audience of just 2.37 million tuned it, down almost half a million on episode two.

However, it seems that Evans is going to put his ego to one side in the hope of boosting the flagging show, following the positive reaction to features presented by motoring journalists Rory Reid, who tested the new Ford Focus RS, and Harris, who was shown in a film with Ferrari's F12 TDF.

Their easy, natural style was certainly at odds with Evans' initial overexuberance and went down well with reviewers. Both were relatively unknown prior to joining the show, with Reid winning his spot via a public audition.

It is understood that Evans and Matt LeBlanc will continue to anchor the studio footage, but Reid and Harris' material will be given greater prominence.

The viewing figures for Sunday's show were the second-lowest since Jeremy Clarkson joined back in 2002, while 'audience appreciation' figures leaked to The Telegraph revealed that the debut episode was rated as the worst quality show on terrestrial television on the weekend it aired - it scored an appreciation index of 60 out of 100, compared to a BBC2 average of 82.

While catch-up viewing - widely cited by Evans as the true criteria to judge the show - will boost the figures, the overnight numbers are the worst since the original reboot of the show, other than one episode from June 2003.

The series' remaining three episodes face a difficult task to reverse its fortunes - on overnight figures at least - as they will come up against Euro 2016 games; a problem that could have been avoided had the show's start date not been moved back.

After days of outrageous flirting and kissing, the pair seemed to take things to the next level and had sex in the bedroom.

Ofcom confirmed there had been 252 complaints from viewers of the Channel 5 reality show over the weekend, which were being assessed.

The raunchy scenes, screened during the 9pm highlights show, featured the son of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White and club hostess enjoying foreplay on the sofa.

At one point, the 30-year-old redhead lifted up her top as Marco Jnr, 21, sucked her bare breast.
Viewers watching at home took to Twitter to express their shock, with many comparing the scenes to 'porn' and declaring they made them feel 'sick'.

The pair's coupling has been made even more awkward for viewers because Marco Jnr has a fiancee on the outside.

'ALF' Actor Michu Meszaros Dies at 76

'ALF' Actor Michu Meszaros Dies at 76© Image Attribution Unavailable 'ALF' Actor Michu Meszaros Dies at 76 Michu Meszaros, the actor who played the alien ALF in the 1980s NBC sitcom, has died. He was 76.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the actor's passing with his manager, Dennis Varga, who told THR that Meszaros died at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, California after being found unresponsive at his Hawthorne, California home a few days ago. No cause of death was given.

Meszaros, who was born in Budapest, Hungary, was 33 inches tall, and began his performing career in the circus at age 14. He eventually moved to the United States and joined Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus in 1973, where he caught the eye of Michael Jackson. The pair eventually formed a close friendship, and later starred together in a Pepsi commercial.

The actor became a beloved television star when he appeared on "ALF," playing the titular alien -- a.k.a. Alien Life Form -- on a handful of episodes throughout the show's four-season run, wearing the furry costume for full-body "walk around" shots of the character. The rest of the time, ALF was performed by puppeteer Paul Fusco, a co-creator of the series.

In addition to his television work -- which also included a role on sitcom "Dear John" -- Meszaros also appeared in several films, including "Waxwork," "Big Top Pee-Wee," "Warlock: The Armageddon," "Look Who's Talking," and "Freaked."

Meszaros, who became an American citizen in 1990, is survived by Varga and Varga's wife, Irene, with whom he shared a home.

Woman suffers two heart attacks after 'car stabbed' in road rage attack

A 21-year-old woman is in a critical condition fighting for her life after she suffered two heart-attacks following a road rage attack in Queensland.

Early reports suggested that the 21-year-old had been stabbed, but it’s now understood her car was stabbed several times with a knife after she was tailgated for several blocks by the alleged attacker.

The incident took place on Tuesday morning in Inskip Ave, Rainbow Beach at a roundabout.

"It seems like it was some sort of road rage incident," the witness told the Gympie Times.

"She stopped the car and the man came up to the car and started stabbing the car with a knife."

Following the alleged road rage attack the young woman reportedly went into cardiac arrest.

Paramedics were able to resuscitate the woman at the scene. She then suffered another heart attack and was once again revived.

She was then airlifted by a rescue helicopter to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for further treatment.

A man has since been arrested in connection to the attack.

He is assisting police with their investigation.

Bike hoons crash soccer match on the Gold Coast

A group of Gold Coast soccer dads turned vigilantes after young hoons on trail bikes terrorised a junior soccer game.

The mayhem was caught on camera and it's not the first time.

Resident John Kerr says his wife was almost run down.

The reckless riders were caught on camera tearing past 10-year-old players and their parents gave chase.
"Some carrying 4x2s who were chasing this galoot haha up the hill.

"He was about to be marauded by a bunch of really angry dads so he high tailed up the road," Mr Kerr said.

But left his bike behind and it is now with police who are investigating the latest in a string of similar incidents.

Mr Kerr added: "It's justice, they've been terrorising this area, you know for quite a long time."

Former fugitives Mark and Gino Stocco plead guilty to murder

The pair was arrested after a man was killed on a property near Dunedoo in central-western New South Wales in October.

The arrests followed a police search spanning three states and lasting two weeks, after the men shot at officers near Wagga Wagga.

They have been charged with more than 30 offences including the murder of Rosario Cimone.

Appearing by audio-visual link in Dubbo Local Court this morning, both men also pleaded guilty to two counts of shooting to avoid apprehension, and one charge of arson.

Crown drops attempted police murder charge

The crown has dropped charges of attempting to murder police.

In all, the men were on the run for eight years.

The pair have been committed for sentence in the Sydney Supreme Court in August.

A police operation involving officers from multiple commands located the pair after a suspicious vehicle was spotted in the Goonoo State Forest two days before their arrest.

Roger Rogerson and Glen McNamara found guilty of murdering Sydney student Jamie Gao

Former police detectives Roger Rogerson and Glen McNamara have been found guilty of murdering Sydney man Jamie Gao during a drug deal.

Rogerson, 75, and co-accused McNamara, 57, had pleaded not guilty to murdering Gao at a Padstow storage facility on May 20, 2014, and dumping his body in waters off Cronulla the next day.

The pair were accused of being involved in the planning and carrying out of the shooting death of 20-year-old Gao during a drug deal.

Both men denied pulling the trigger and instead pointed the blame at each other.

McNamara's defence told the trial it was Rogerson who shot and killed Gao before threatening McNamara and his family, forcing him to help dispose of the body.

Rogerson claimed the 20-year-old was killed during a struggle with McNamara and the student was dead on the floor when he entered the shed.

'No 20yo deserves to lose their life over a stupid mistake'

Gao's family issued a statement that praised the legal system for finding "two very dangerous criminals" guilty.

"But while this is the verdict our family were hoping would be delivered, true justice can never really be served," a statement said.

"No 20-year-old deserves to lose their life over a stupid mistake.

"No matter what today's findings are or the sentence that is given, it won't change the fact that Jamie remains absent from the lives of our family — the people who love him — and we miss him every single day."

The trial was told by prosecutors both had given "far-fetched and unbelievable" versions of what happened.

Gao told his cousin Justin Gao he was going to be involved in a massive drug deal with a man called 'Glen' that was going to make him rich.

He held a number of meetings with McNamara in the months before his death — McNamara claimed these meetings were for a book he was writing about Asian crime gangs.

This explanation was dismissed by prosecutors, who said McNamara and Rogerson were preparing for the killing.

Prosecutors told the court the crown did not have to prove which of the defendants killed Gao, just that there was an agreement to kill or seriously injure the victim.

There was little reaction from either of the men when the verdict was handed down.

It took the jury just under a week to reach the verdicts. Justice Geoffrey Bellew thanked them for their service.

"The community owes you a great debt," he said.

"I know this trial has occurred for much longer than anticipated."

He excused them from ever serving again, unless they wished to do so.

Unfortunately, the All Japanese Day re scheduled for this Sunday the 19 June has to be again postposed due to the uncertainty of the weather and the oval being too wet to take many cars before tuning into a quagmire

If they fix the interior in the across-the-range refresh they are doing next year anyway.

Well I like the sound of stock. It has this strange whistling noise which I have grown to love. I do kinda wish it was a touch louder but it has a nice note and doesn't look too bad IMO. Arrow makes an exhaust which looks and sounds great but it's quite expensive for essentially a little louder than stock.

Looks like its going to be heavy rain yet again on Sunday. For some reason, I am not a fan of the F Type. Would much rather an NSX
