Playboy Mansion Sold To Billionaire Neighbour

Playboy fans everywhere are mourning the end of an era as Hugh Hefner's iconic Los Angeles mansion is sold to the billionaire businessman who lives next door.

Private equity boss, Daren Metropoulos, 32, is to become the new owner of the vast 29-room property, representatives for Playboy Enterprises and Mr Metropoulos have confirmed.

Both sides have refused to reveal the sale price until the deal is completed.

As part of the sale, Hugh Hefner must remain at the mansion

However, some reports suggest it went for roughly $110m (£76.1m), significantly less than the $200m it was originally listed at.

Mr Metropoulos, who is the co-owner of the Hostess Brands, maker of the American snack Twinkies, bought the house next door from Mr Hefner in 2009 for £18m.

He reportedly plans to merge the two 1920s-era properties, creating an enormous 7.3 acre compound.

But the development will have to wait as, under the terms of the sale, Playboy Magazine's 90-year-old founder will remain in the mansion for the rest of his life.

"If the purchase closes and at some point after Mr Hefner's tenancy ends, Mr Metropoulos intends to reconnect the two estates ..." Metropoulos' business, Metropoulos & Co, said in a statement.

"In the meantime, he is pleased to continue to have Mr Hefner as his neighbour and feels fortunate and privileged for the opportunity to serve as a steward of this historic property."

The Playboy mansion, once the scene of countless debauched celebrity-filled parties, sits on five acres in LA's Holmby Hills.

It is home to a game house, home theatre, wine cellar, gym, tennis court, swimming pool, four-bedroom guest house and the infamous Playboy grotto.

The property was originally bought by Playboy Enterprises in 1971 for $1.05m.

At that time, the purchase was the largest real estate transaction in Los Angeles history.

Parents Of Boy Who fell Into Harambe The Gorilla's Enclosure Have Just Learned Their Fate

The mother of a child who entered a Cincinnati Zoo enclosure will not face criminal charges, the Hamilton County prosecutor's office in Ohio said on Monday.

Harambe the gorilla was shot dead by zoo staff after a three-year-old child entered his enclosure on May 28.

The killing of the critically-endangered animal sparked international outrage, with many calling for the child's parents to face criminal charges.

A Facebook post reportedly written by the child's mother, Michelle Gregg, which has since been removed, said: “As a society we are quick to judge how a parent could take their eyes off their child. If anyone knows me, I keep a tight watch on my kids.

“Accidents happen but I am thankful that the right people were in the right place today.

“What started off as a wonderful day turned into a scary one. God protected my child.”

The child climbed through a public barrier at Gorilla World in Cincinnati Zoo and fell into the exhibit’s moat.

The 400lb animal climbed down to the boy, picked him up and carried him into the enclosure.

He was shot by keepers who decided it was too risky to tranquilize the gorilla.

Yeah yeah!!

I think they are making a practical q ride test to get ur learners. Then when u get ur re it will be two years not one. And the q ride guy was saying they want to make the r test different to the re which is probably a good idea.

When are you planning on getting the super duke?

Wolfie, you once commented on peoples lack of knowledge re ebay/gumtree ownereship, even though it is very obvious if you look, what business decision drives this model, the clusterfkd ebay with fees, then bought gumtree, seems rather odd business, or is there more to gathering good data etc and they will then just rob all people, or is it an effective market blocker? just curious on your take on it.

I have found it is good to buy new things on ebay and sell old crap, even with the fees, gumtree great when you have a known fixed price item

That was the choice between paying off my consolidated loan for my 2012/2008 Busa and buy a newish car or have debt and a brand new bike, once all cases settle then we may revisit buying one or possibly a 1999 Copper and Silver Busa but with extensive engine work.

I think it's mostly playing on that ignorance. I think they know a lot of people won't use Ebay because it's Ebay...
