This badass little Volkswagen showed up to Streetcar Takeover Indy to make some dyno pulls on the new bored and stroked motor with a turbo strapped on! What makes this car so awesome is the backstory and how unique this thing is, you don’t see these things on the road EVER! This $400 piece of scrap that was supposed to go to the junkyard now runs down the highway boasting over 200hp out of the little draw through carb turbo setup in the rear, how cool is that!?

This beautiful Camaro drag car gets a little too sideways leaving Reno CAC 5-15-16!!! Here is a good example of what not to do leaving a car meet of any kind. And this just goes to show anyone can crash their high hp car at anytime its not just Mustangs lol. Driver was uninjured in the crash but his Camaro had major damage to the front end. The driver did say he plans to rebuilt it for Hot August Nights this year. PLEASE be more safe leaving events people!!!

Fronm the first time I saw a basic ABS 3d printer 4 years ago, then saw the metal laser ones, I thought it was a game changer to the whole way we build things, hold spares, design and modify anything. Shapeways etc will be the next apple etc, when you see a 3d printed turbo, that blew my mind, what fn next, imagine extruded kevlar then based resin etc........oh for the $2 mill to setup an aussie shapeways to service Asia pacific

Gran Turismo Sport, the latest entry in the PlayStation-exclusive racing sim series, will launch for PS4 on November 15 in Japan, Asia, and North America, followed by November 16 in Europe and November 18 in the UK.

Pyne says Australians don't need fast internet

Liberal minister Christopher Pyne has defended his party's globally obsolete National Broadband Network saying Australians don't need fast internet.

The Minister for Innovation, Science and Industry faced fierce criticism of the NBN, which will produce some of the slowest internet speeds in the world, when he appeared on Q&A last night.

Australia is currently ranked 44th in the world for its connection speeds, below Ireland, Latvia and the Czech Republic.

In 2013, Labor's NBN promised download speeds of 1Gbps through an innovative fibre optics network linked directly to people's homes, on par with international standards.

However, the Coalition's version which won't be completed until 2020 and will only provide download speeds of 25Mbps, well below the global average.

Speaking in defence of the NBN, Mr Pyne said: "(Australians) simply didn't need the speeds that Labor was promising."
"You will be able to watch five full-length movies in the same household if you all want to at the same time.

"Which is a lot of movies. That's a lot of televisions."

His comments come after a series of AFP raids over leaked documents revealed cost blowouts for the Coalition's network.

The leaked documents highlighted the $800 million Optus network was "not fully fit for purpose" and could require more than 470,000 premises to be reconnected.

Labor shadow infrastructure and transport spokesman Anthony Albanese said "the NBN isn't about movies, it's about our economy and how it functions".

"Malcolm Turnbull's fraud-band is double the cost" and "half the speed of what he said it would be. And the delay is extraordinary," he said.

The coalition has also been criticised for pledging to use antiquated copper wiring to support the NBN.

IT'S OFFICIAL: Australia is the most expensive country in the world for smokes and a few beers

Australia: the most expensive country in the world in which to have low-level mid-week fun.

It's not really what a country wants to be famous for.

Australia's global cities have yet again topped a list of the priciest global cities for cigarettes and beer in Deutsche Bank's annual "Mapping the World's Prices" report.

The report is now run by DB strategist Jim Reid, who also writes the highly-sought-after "Early Morning Reid" daily note on global markets. It compares prices for a range of lifestyle items for the global expat and business community.

The "sin index" looks at the cost of five beers and two packets of cigarettes in 40 cities around the world. (Reid admitted in an email to Business Insider that this was "maybe not a very balanced night".)

Melbourne is No.1 on the list, with the price for the basket of minor indulgences coming in at $US67. Sydney comes in seventh place, tumbling a whole two places from last year's fifth spot, with the basket costing $US61.

The results for Australian cities are, of course, severely inflated by the inclusion of two packets of durries on the list. Sydney and Melbourne are the most expensive cities in the 40 surveyed to buy cigarettes, thanks to the world-beating levels of taxes imposed by the federal government on tobacco. Melbourne and Sydney rank a somewhat more respectable 14th and 23rd, respectively, on the list of cities ranked by the cost of 500ml of beer.

(On the "sin index", Australia's rankings are set to blow out over the coming years with the government announcing 12.5% increases in tobacco taxes every to 2020 in the federal budget.)

Australia actually ranks quite well on a number of other indulgences, however. For example, Melbourne and Sydney rank mid table - 21st and 22nd - on the league table of the cost of a full-course Italian meal for two. And the cities are 21st and 22nd on the list of cities ranked by the cost of a pair of jeans, and perhaps this should be taken as a sign of the good taste of the Australian market because the prices are for Levis 501s and Aussies with any sense wouldn't be seen dead in them.
