2016 Lagonda Taraf by Aston Martin: The World’s First Million Dollar Four-Door - Ignition Ep.150
Motor Trend Channel

Published on Apr 25, 2016
Jonny Lieberman celebrates the 150th episode of Ignition presented by Tire Rack in style, by driving the new Lagonda Taraf around Great Britain. A hand-built, one-million dollar sedan built by Aston Martin in the same skunkworks workshop where they built the One-77. Only 200 examples will ever exist. The Taraf sports carbon-fiber body panels, a high-strung 540 horsepower V-12, and more rear seat room than a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. But is there anyway any sedan is worth one-million bucks? Watch and find out!

New School power in an old school platform! The team over at Speed Warhouse put together a solid mix of forgotten styling with a proven power plant. They weren’t afraid to push the car all throughout the weekend by participating in in the Roll Racing AND the Drag events at TX2K16. They did manage to find a weak point after a full weekend of heavy abuse, but managed to remain in high spirits after finally enjoying this beautiful car’s potential!

What’s It Like To Get Caught In The Middle Of A High Speed Chase?

On the way home one night, an Uber driver and his passenger were treated to a car blowing through an intersection with not one but two police cars in tow! Another car joins the chase, and the passengers cannot believe what they are seeing! They don’t sound to be from the United States, so seeing a high speed chase to them is apparently mindblowing!

i may have posted up this clip, or something similar a year or two ago about Koenigsegg 'printing' their turbo, i was just reading an article about variable turbo's. You've got to wonder if they'll become more readily available / popular in aftermarket applications. thumbsup.gif

626 update: Finished reconditioning my 626 front bumper today so it's all ready to be fitted once the cars 'done'.

The chrome was lifting on the inside so that's been addressed / wire wheeled via an angle grinder to remove lose material / rust, then painted. Brackets done as well, new stainless steel fittings sourced and rubber end caps repaired using a heat gun / flat paper and various grades sandpaper.

^^^^ I've sourced just about all the 'parts' that I need with the exception of a good rear bumper bar.

I've bought various bits & pieces as spares or replacement parts, doors, guards, trim pieces, chrome surrounds - all my chrome bits have been painted black which I detest - driving all over the place, Warwick, Kilkoy, Oxenford, sourcing parts online via Gumtree in South Australia (left hand door mirror & an uncut radio surround).

Still heaps to do and find of course, it's like anything car related. I'm going to get the gearbox and clutch set up next - I've got it lined up with a mate - he needs to free up the cash for a project of his own.

I've completed the hubs and brake brackets, adapting series 3 rx7 struts, series 4 rx7 hubs and series 6 brake calipers / vented discs to all work together.

The next part will be to make a decision, rebuild the struts / buy shock absorbers / brake lines OR go straight to coil overs.

It's basically $400 to rebuild the struts & braided lines vs $950 for coil overs plus additional $$$ for the brake lines and cutting and welding the strut bottoms to complete.

I'm thinking to get the gearbox set up first while it's available and help my mate out, there's no hurry to fit the brakes & struts up to the car.

Salim Mehajer investigated over alleged domestic violence incident as tycoon denies split with wife

Former Auburn deputy major Salim Mehajer is reportedly being investigated over an alleged domestic violence incident which took place over the Anzac long weekend.

News Corp reports that the controversial politician turned up at his sister-in-law's house in Horsley near Wollongong and was allegedly 'yelling, screaming and knocking at the door'.

The couple have been consistently in the media since their wedding last year. Photo: Facebook

His wife Aysha, who used to be called April Learmonth and is a former beautician, was reportedly staying with her sister when her husband turned up and demanded the keys to the Mercedes that she had been using.

Police want to interview Aysha in connection with the incident but she has reportedly flown north to the Gold Coast.

Officers are reportedly considering seeking an AVO against her politician and property developer husband.

A spokesman for NSW Police told Daily Mail "an investigation is underway following a an alleged domestic violence incident at a home in Horsley on Monday."

"The incident involved a 29-year-old man. Police have spoken to witnesses and they are assisting with inquiries."

Mr Mehajer has tried to play down split rumours which have dogged the couple for months. Aysha reportedly moved out of their shared home in March.

The property developer told News Corp on Tuesday: “Aysha and I are not separated, we are living happily, just away from our Lidcombe residence — somewhere in Sydney. Kind regards, Salim Mehajer."

He also denied knowing why police would be investigating him and added, “Once I find out I will inform you.

Before the couple's extravagant wedding last August, Aysha was a country girl called April who had grown up in Woonona, near Wollongong.

Mr Mehajer has kept a firm front on social media with regular photos of his wife and messages about how their love is unbreakable.

On Tuesday night he wrote on his Facebook page, "When they try turning on you, don't look back."

"Our love is too great to destroy my_princess_forever_," accompanied by a photo of the couple walking down a beach. It is not known how old the photo is.

Yahoo7 has reached out to Mr Mehaher for comment but is yet to receive a response

Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour Offers Stunning Tribute To Prince... Without Saying A Single Word

Here’s how one guitar legend honors another.

Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour offered a spine-tingling tribute to Prince during a concert at Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday night, but instead of singing or even speaking, he let his guitar do the talking for him.

Just as Gilmour was about to play the second guitar solo in the Pink Floyd classic “Comfortably Numb,” he suddenly shifted into an expressive “Purple Rain” tribute.

Even the lighting went purple:

After the “Purple Rain” solo, Gilmour seamlessly transitioned into the second solo of “Comfortably Numb.” It was if the two songs were meant to be together.
