I imagine with the Jags it's to do with the price of the cheapest model. The f type gear has to ALSO go on a 80k car, where even the cheapest XK was over 100. |

Fn Nissan and their cloth armrest and centre console covering, feels crap and looks crap after a few months, surely leather is not that dear......... all car manufacturers do it, with their little trim gimmicks / highlights. not sure why nissan would use a fabric that has such poor wear characteristics. i'm sure that it'd be designed that way deliberately so they can 'force' people to have to upgrade from a base spec and fork out their hard earned. Or maybe just to have to buy replacement parts somewhere down the track. I bought another drivers seat for my sp23 for $70 just to get the fabric (mines worn through on the edge), and sure the 'new' old seat isn't perfect, but it's better than my existing seat. Mind you i have no plans to fit it, i'm just keeping it as a spare 'til i'm ready to sell the car. |
