Whats involved in the swap? Been looking at older mazdas but most are autos It's pretty straight forward really. I wrote this up and posted it on ausrotary for anyone facing a similar situation. note, this is only for a 1979-1983 Mazda 626 I've ended up adapting a s2 rx7 pedal box to suit. If you're going to do the same conversion you'll need to do the following...... * Realign the brake pedal to ensure that it sits at the correct angle to the brake booster - s2 are offset to one side where as 626 are centered. the cradle has a cutout at the top to allow for this, but the offset pedal would foul the cradle at the very top (and not allow for the pedal assembly bolt fitment due to this). You don't need to realign the clutch pedal. * Grind off and reattach both return 'striker' pads on the clutch and brake pedal - they're both in the wrong position. * Change the bolt holding the pedal assembly together to a 200mm long bolt. The factory pedal cradle on a 626 is 15mm wider than the rx7 item, hence why you need the bolt. If you follow the advice i've just posted you'll save yourself the necessity of having to pull out the pedal cradle. It's a pain in the proverbial. Changing the pedals then becomes a matter of undoing one bolt / two split pins and a couple of pins on the actuator arms of the clutch slave / brake booster. and the return springs. The 626 pedal assembly bolt on an auto is 160mm long (guesstimate - auto) / the rx7 bolt is 185mm long. You can't use the rx7 cradle (i believe) although i never tried fitting it, it's visually different in its molding that goes up against the firewall, and the bolt positions tying the bottom of the dash, steering column and bottom right (from the brake booster) firewall bolt are all different. It was easier to modify the brake pedal and striker pads than it'd have been to modify (or attempt) the cradle. |

Hi guys, I'm Joel, Shuffs son. This has been a bit hard to write but just wanted to let you know dad had a really serious stroke on Friday morn and died early this morn. He really felt part of a community on here and had a lot of time for you guys and considered you very close mates and he'd want me to let you know what happened. None of us knew it but looking back now the signs were there he had health problems leading up to this just we didnt realise how severe and the stubborn old bastard refused to go to the quack despite pushing from mum. 45 years of smoking had done its thing and one carotid artery was completely blocked and the other 70% blocked so it was a ticking time bomb, I'm just glad it happened while he was still in hospital recovering from his hip replacement and not at home where help might have been much longer to arrive. one of the frustrating parts about this was after living with the pain for so many years he only got to enjoy his new hip for 2 days before this happened. Anyway i just wanted to say thanks, you guys have no idea how much enjoyment dad got from here. I haven't been real active on boost for about 6 years now but he was always talking to me about it and loved to have a chat or share some car knowledge where he could. Thanks again guys Joel. Mate, that honestly is a shame. He was an incredibly knowledgeable individual. Will be missed in the boost community. |

i bet you that he could still play with his mistress/s. sook QUOTE Woods: I couldn't even play with my kids
Tiger Woods has revealed just how bad his injury troubles were back in December. The former world number one provided some new information about his recovery process on Wednesday, first in a blog post on his website and then during a press conference at Bluejack National, his first U.S. golf-course design located in Montgomery, Texas. In the online message, Woods said his health was improving, although he still did not know when he would be able to return to golf. "As I announced last week, I am starting to feel a lot better," Woods wrote. "I have been chipping and putting at home, and recently started hitting 9 irons. That's been so nice. After all, Florida is the Sunshine State. "My son Charlie and I compete in just about everything and have three-hole chipping contests. The loser has to do push-ups. My short game feels pretty sharp. "The big thing right now is trying to get stronger and more flexible. Sitting out as long as I did, some weakening occurred, and I have a lot of work ahead of me. "While there is no timetable on my return to competitive golf, I want to play this game at the highest level again. In order to do that, I have to get healthy. "I've received many nice calls and texts from my fellow PGA Tour players and want to thank them for their support and encouragement. It's a fraternity out there, and we're all in this together." At the press conference, Woods revealed that he was in a bad state during December's Hero World Challenge, although he was doing "a helluva lot better". "At the Hero, I wasn't feeling very good," he said. "I couldn't play with my kids. I wasn't able to throw and play catch with my son." He also denied a report that he had started hitting drivers, saying: "I haven't hit anything more than a 9-iron." Woods also admitted he had pushed himself too hard in the past, coming back from previous injuries too early. "That's what athletes do," he said. Asked again about a possible date for his return, he replied: "I don't really know. This is a different injury than I've had in the past. When dealing with nerves, there is no timetable. Everyone feels differently." |

Yes that is the plan haha.. have a $5000 budget to buy the car so i best buy one soon before she spends it on other things There was a good 626 that just sold a month ago @ Logan. they started at 5k, with the price steadily decreasing. two weeks passed, they were desperate, the price was down to $950. i was just about to ring them and buy it, was chatting to my brother to see if he could come down with me to drive my car home if i bought the car. got back to the comp and it was sold. There's another one on there now, a coupe, currently asking 6k, down from $7,500, i reckon you could get that for 5k. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/banyo/cars-...-626/1104215724 Mind you, they're coming up all the time, it's just a matter of being patient. And it also depends on what you want at the end of the day. |

Yeh i have missed afew decent ones in the last few months, i have just email the guy from the link you posted its worth a look. That xb is rather interesting and not to over the top.. it's had an outside only respray, and the front end rebuilt. it came up for sale 6 weeks after i had already bought mine. I wasn't overly worried, i've always liked the 4 doors / had 3-4 or them prior to trading my last one in when i moved up to queensland 10 odd years ago. it just comes down to how much of a project you want with what starting point (pricing) you're looking at. |

New nsx looks like a hot wheels car but then most modern sports/super cars are starting to go crazy with styling paint it red and put a ferrari badge on it. there's a lot of people who wouldn't know the difference. the styling's not dissimilar |
