Salim Mehajer empire looks to be teetering on the ropes

QUOTE
With Salim Mehajer’s political career in tatters, the property development empire of the nation’s most famous former deputy mayor also appears on the ropes, bouncing cheques of as little as $15,000 to a key financier, according to court documents.
Mr Mehajer’s apartment tower at 38-44 John Street, Lidcombe — the only sizeable development he is actually currently building — has sat largely idle, less than half-built, for at least the past four months.

Documents lodged in the NSW Supreme Court show the broker he engaged to source up to $60 million to finance the project, Acuity Funding, in the western Sydney suburb of Pennant Hills, is suing him for more than $2m and seeking to take control of 5 per cent of each of four of his biggest land holdings.
According to court documents lodged by Acuity’s owner, Berhero, Mr Mehajer’s companies failed to pay an agreed $1.98m brokerage fee last June.
Instead, a deal was made whereby Mr Mehajer would sign over the 5 per cent stake in his properties between 36 and 44 John Street Lidcombe, and pay Acuity $25,000 a month.
According to court documents, the transfers never occurred and cheques from Mr Mehajer’s companies in June of $25,000 and $15,000 bounced.
Mr Mehajer yesterday denied that the project had stalled and said it was “ahead of schedule”. He declined to comment on the legal battle with Accuity.
He and the nine other elected members of Auburn City Council were suspended by NSW Local Government Minister Paul Toole on Wednesday ahead of a public inquiry into the council over allegations of corruption.
The bulk of Mr Mehajer’s developments are in John Street, the main street of Lidcombe in Sydney’s west, where he and his father have developed two towers of residential units.
Next door, at a 38-44 John Street, Mr Mehajer’s planned 11-story Skypoint Towers has sat largely idle for at least four months, construction apparently stalled at level six.
Locals note the development stalled months ago, saying truck loads of materials stopped arriving, the scaffolding ceased rising and two giant overhead cranes stopped operating.“Over the last six months, a couple of people come and go, but I’m not sure what goes on there,” an adjacent shopkeeper said.

The Australian has visited the site numerous times in recent months, a handful of workers on site declining to comment on the development’s progress.
Irene Simms, who has raised concerns about some activities of Auburn councillors and who sat on the council until Wednesday’s suspension, said no significant work had occurred on the site in recent months. “A lot of people are commenting, there has been no substantial work there for a long time, nothing appears to be happening on site,” she said.
The brokerage fees charged by Accuity are substantial and the group describes itself as specialising in “sourcing funding options for clients who others have been unable to assist due to the complexities of their financing needs”.
At least some financing for Skypoint Towers appears to have been provided by private investors.
The legal action between Mr Mehajer’s companies and Berhero continues.

i was surprised to see by one of the pics that he's driving the car with it being so low to the ground. you could only imagine the condition of the undercarriage. rolleyes.gif

i don't mind the bagged look, slamming a car so low, but practical? hell no.

look how low this 626 is........ tongue.gif (not bagged), but yeah impractical, and could only imagine the danger that the fuel tank would be in scraping along gutters etc

i think it still fcuked the wall........ rolleyes.gif

not sure why they don't use a passenger plane, (if that's the standard that they're trying to achieve with the walls construction). we've already seen passenger planes bring down buildings, i can't see that a nuclear power plants walls would withstand the impact and not crumble and subsequently cause further damage.

2016 Corvette ZO6 CR.7 Special Edition Totaled By Dealership Employee

There was only 500 Z06 CR.7s being made, but unfortunately we already have to mark down that number to 499. After sorting through a few stories, we’ve come to the conclusion that this is what actually happened. The customer who purchased this car had waited just over a year to see it. Before he even made to the dealer, and before the car was even prepped for delivery, an employee of the dealership totaled it. That employee is in the hospital, but expected to be ok.

this from another source

QUOTE
Sometimes when a supercar crashes, there are hopes for the machine to get the required servicing attention and return to the road. This, however, isn't one of those cases.

Alas, all hope is lost for this 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R, with the vehicle having been involved in a brutal crash in Texas.

The details of the accident are scarce, but we can tell you the special 'Vette was totaled in Katy, TX. It appears the Chevy had left the dealer lot hours before the accident and was on its way to having its windows tinted.

Well, as you'll be able to see in the footage below, not only did the Z06 fail to get protected against the Texas sun but the accident the supercar was involved in makes it look like it fell inside the shredder.

Any Corvette crash is painful, but when you think the world now has one Z06 C7.R, things are even more cringe-worthy. As those of you following the 'Vette world know, General Motors is only gifting the world with 650 units of this special edition, 500 of which are destined for US driveways.

That means one less American driver will get to enjoy the charms of the C7.R endurance racer-inspired machine.

Since the LT4 under the hood of the "standard" Z06 already delivers a meaty 650 hp and 650 lb-ft, the tech changes offered by this special edition target the rest of the car. Goodies such as the Z07 Performance Package and carbon-ceramic brakes are included on the menu.

Even in this terrible state, you can still recognize the Z06 C7.R thanks to visual treats such as the signature yellow livery we've all seen on Corvette Racing Machines.

Our favorite bits include the exposed carbon aero package, as well as the yellow accent black wheels. And here we are, thinking about the spare parts that can be saved like cold-blooded disassemblers.

That said, the C7.r is a bit of a meh marketing exercise anyway. It's the standard car with the Z07 package and special paint.

I'm actually surprised at how many of your 'available' movies I now have, and are yet to be viewed, the only one that you did put up that I don't have is "He didn't Die'.My son put quite a few on my hard drive last time I was in Brisbane, and the Mrs wants to get one more trip in before my Op,so i might see if he can furnish me with a copy,(he has three terabytes of movies, and series).plus a mate just put another twenty or so movies on there for me.
The problem I'm going to have,is when and how to watch them,I'm supposed to be in hospital for a minimum of four days, but they wont let you out, until everything is right. When I had the last one done, the drain they put in,wouldn't stop oozing,so four days, became a fortnight, plus I'm fifteen years older unsure.gif
I'll just have to play it by ear,but it's going to be bloody frustrating, because there is so much you can't do,and you are so dependent on your carer

If I do, then yep. I can get a new one landed for around 125k us. Local ones in Japan are about 200k US. Ah, sensible countries where you can bring in whatever you want.

The other 2 contenders are still the V12 Vantage S and the XKR-S GT. Both helpfully compared in this video!

The other 2 contenders are still the V12 Vantage S and the XKR-S GT. Both helpfully compared in this video!<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="468" width="625" data="https://www.youtube.com/v/LFuVVAyJ5hY"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/LFuVVAyJ5hY"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain"><param name="quality" value="best"><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF"><param name="scale" value="noScale"><param name="salign" value="TL"><param name="FlashVars" value="playerMode=embedded" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent"/></object>

They certainly are a well made, and informative series,I started watching with the opinion that the Vantage was the better looking vehicle, but came out the other end thinking the XKR-S has a look that could easily grow on you,(and V8's sound so much better than V10's,and 12's),with the added benefit that came across as the better handling vehicle. The Vantage seemed to fit more in the category of the Corvette, with its handling, particularly when they showed how much arm work he had to do to keep it on the black stuff, and that clutch lag with conventional driving is a bit of a worry,So now I'm
1 XKR-GT
2'Vette Z06
3 Vantage
but if you like a handful of fun, best bang for your buck, has to be the Corvette

I would be going lightly used for the Jag or Vantage. That makes price order in USD:
Vette - 110k
Jag - 125-140k
AM - 130-160k

I personally actually think the Aston is the worst looking, though I've always been that weird guy who hasn't gotten what the big deal with the vantage is. Too stubby. Not a patch on the DB9 platform.

The only area that the AM has it over the other two is interior quality (just) and the badge.
The Jag has exclusivity on its side just 40 (!?) in the world, and it has basic, you know, Camry features (keyless go, satnav you can use) that the AM doesn't.
The Vette is by far the fastest, best featured...and maybe best looking. No bage cachet though...but I can buy new and order to my spec.
Decisions!

do you have a kindle?

the available movies i bring to peoples awareness are generally a 'proper' quality, or very close, so i'm not surprised that your son already has them. plus there's a lot of dvdscreener quality movies available atm with the academy releasing movies for the judging personal to watch and vote on. invariably those movies filter through to nefarious sources. of which i know nothing about. ph34r.gif
