Where did you encounter it Dai?Apparently it's caused damage in some areas and passed over others, leaving them unscathed. The BOM put a 'This Storm is Very Dangerous' sign on it but when it hit the coast around Southport,it chucked a hard right, and followed the coast line.Last time I checked,it was located just off Tweed Heads, and was as black as Neddys Bum in the centre i heard and saw some lightning, there even were some drops of rain on my cars windscreen, but other than that, fcuk it's humid. |

shit stinks....... QUOTE Sydney student unknowingly wearing demerit points accrued against controversial deputy mayor Salim Mehajer
Seven News can reveal that NSW Police are investigating accusations demerit points accrued against vehicles connected to controversial Sydney developer and local politician Salim Mehajer were shifted to a man who had no idea what was going on. Worse still, the victim claims Mr Mehajer's people tried to buy his silence. "I haven't seen him in my life," Mr Razzak told 7 News of Mr Mehajer. "Only I know him like everyone after his wedding, he has a big wedding here, after his wedding everyone started knowing him." At least 11 demerit points for the Mehajer cars wound up on his licence. "I'll lose the job and I can't survive my life," he said of what would happen if he can't drive because of a possible driving suspension. "I have to survive my life thats why I have to work." |

i heard and saw some lightning, there even were some drops of rain on my cars windscreen, but other than that, fcuk it's humid. I have found watching the videos you put up on here,I would end up on You Tube, and end up miles from anywhere, with hours unaccounted for, which is not a bad thing, with my current state of mobility,so,I've added to it,storm chasing. I've always had an interest in weather, because it has been an integral part of my farming life, and especially the uncertainty of storm activity.I've always done my own thing, monitoring the weather using the BOM,but a few months ago,I discovered that Higgins Storm Chasing site, and what I particularly like about it is the photos, and videos that are sent in when a weather event happens. Some of the people that post on there obviously have pretty professional photographic equipment, because you get a lot of photos that have the 'WOW' factor, but unfortunately, you also have to endure the 'Soccer Mum' posts When I saw that storm appear out of nowhere yesterday,on the radar,I knew it wouldn't be long, before it would be documented on the site, and I wasn't wrong!Checking this morning,it looks like it made for some fantastic viewing on sunset, when it was out to sea,and then the light show after dark was phenomenal, and it looks like VK might have had front row seats Around Mt Gravatt Shuffs. Was pointless. Explained about my interest in a bit more detail in Alphas post ^^^^ Looks like it was south of you then, and you must have got the edge of it,did a fair bit of damage in Goodna at the start of its journey, and once it reached Tweed Heads,it went from black and red,to nothing in the six passes of the Brissy radar |

good to hear that your hip operation is booked in, private hospital or public? i can see that you're poor wife's going to have to be on alert after you get your hip done. can't believe that your son's wife is complaining about the humidity, it's not even that bad here, maybe a few months of the year where it gets a bit ho hum, but ten 1/2 months of the year where you can wear shorts and thongs. who'd complain about that. what's your thoughts for the future, travel locally? grey nomad style? or overseas, see the sights, spend the kids inheritance? it's good to have plans for the future, gives you a reason to hope / dream / ambitions etc. hit wolfie up for accommodation over in Japan? Remembered I was going to answer this to the best of my ability............TLDR We have always had private health cover,it is a necessity once kids are on the scene,if I was having my hip done in a public hospital,it would be a minimum twelve months wait from the time I first saw the Orthopedic Surgeon. Funny thing was I had to wait twelve months to get my last one done,my Mrs was a Clinical Nurse Consultant in our local Private Hospital, and changed jobs,so had to get out of their health scheme, she dropped one level in our new one,and we found out we were covered for every thing bar cataracts, and joint replacements.....had it done twelve months to the day! The Surgeon that performed my last operation has retired,so I looked like having to travel to John Flynn, but we have since sourced a reputable one locally (through my wife's medical connections),that I got in to see surprisingly quickly last November, and it was shit for brains me that said at the time,I can make it until the end of February. The Mrs was going to shoot through a couple of weeks after the operation, but has since changed her mind,I can't legally drive, for six weeks after the operation,so I think that's what's made her reflect, and take the risk of me trying to jump her old bones. My son is not married, but there seems to be a stalemate at the moment, one is a business executive that doesn't like the weather here, one is a farm boy that doesn't like city life, they both have their own units,so one will have to be put on the rental market if there is a shift. My son stepped straight into a job managing a big Macca farm for a family, doing the same sort of work that he knows is hurting him.His future Father-in-Law,is a bloke my vintage or older, and wants to wind the business back a notch,so at present will not take any projects over one million dollars,so not sure where that's going. In the interim,I'm getting pretty familiar with the road to Coolangatta Airport Travel is a grey area,I already have roughly forty countries under my belt,I don't really want to go back to countries like Afghanistan,Iraq or Iran again, and unfortunately, drop kicks from these countries, are now making me wary of visiting the others. What we did,was we wanted to go to the UK,and we reckoned we could get there for the same cost traveling overland, using public transport,as jumping on a plane. It took six months to reach the UK,and we arrived in their Summer,so we used London as our base, visiting the Scandinavian countries, while it was warm, and we were flush with cash, and coming back to a live-in work positions in the UK,(which was an experience in itself),once it became too cold to travel ,we did this for two and a half years. On the trip, our first port of call was Bali, and my Mrs has been back a few times for a break, because it is close, but it is so touristy now at Kuta, that she stays at Ubud,up in the mountains, now with these current terrorist threats,I don't think she's real keen anymore, and like the farm,I would sooner remember it as it was. Wouldn't mind seeing New Zealand, and in Australia,up around Kakadu, plus around the top end but when and how is still an unknown. My son was going to Japan but changed it to the USA,so I'll see how enthused he is when he gets back. So that's my undie draw empty Alpha Just to keep it real, the hospital just rang to say I have to have my admission papers in tomorrow, then go and give an armful of blood, and then on the 9th have more Xrays done, plus spend the morning at the Orthopedic Clinic,so all starting to happen |

Never understood the attraction. Then again that may just be because I don't really do third world. Japan is really the only Asian one that holds my interest...though Korea, Singapore and HK can be fun for a visit. Love the states/Canada. Been to Europe twice, have no desire to go again (don't get me started on the decline they are going to experience over the coming decades), but never the UK, which I think I'd enjoy. |

We had to get to Nepal,as we had a two week trek booked,so we just island hopped from Bali, through the Indonesian Islands,Singapore,(which was fine) Thailand, then flew into Kathmandu, once was enough. It was so convenient then to put the van on a ferry,at Felixstowe, and hit Europe, and they have the tunnel, now, but with all the closed borders, with this refugee problem ,no thanks. Greek Islands, went there three times, now the favourite destination for refugees,Turkey, went back twice (mainly to revisit Gallipoli),now an ISIL assembly point. The UK,great,I think you would love it Wolfie! The history there,we set a task of traveling from John O'Groats to Lands End,and one of the best things we did was join the National Trust, they have 300 historical buildings under their care, and that's how we planned a lot of our trips, traveling from one to another.....the castles, and famous peoples homes, that were left just as they were living in them.Even our live-in work was great,I worked in a 600 year old pub, whilst living in Mrs Blackwell's of Crosse and Blackwell residence,we also lived in a grand old building that used to belong to Winston Churchhill in Epping Forest,I was the chauffeur/handy man,the Mrs the cook, the bloke that owned it then was the Ford Main Dealer for the south of England,Rod Stewart owns it now....lots of great memories of the UK |

In the news again QUOTE In a new twist, 7 News has learned of Mr Mehajer's cut-price cars. A Rolls Royce Silver Wraith that sells new for $645,000 was valued to the Roads and Maritime Services at $65,000. A Ferrari 458 worth $526,000 was listed at $34,000 - that difference alone saving $24,000 in stamp duty. If a person intentionally supplies misleading information to the RMS, heavy fines may apply. But if it's a genuine mistake, the right figure can be substituted and the full stamp duty paid. https://au.news.yahoo.com/a/30716404/salims...t-65-000/#pause |

Salim's going to be tied up in court processes for the next few years for all the dodgy shit that he's been doing. it'll cost him a pretty penny no doubt, though i can't see our soft court system sending him to jail for anything at the moment. but that's money for you, being able to afford the best representation and pay your way out of jail. |

QUOTE TWIN TURBO V6 Firebird!? 1320video Published on Feb 2, 2016 A 7-second V6 Firebird!? WHAT!? That’s right…a Buick V6 to be exact! And to top it off, it not only has one but TWO turbochargers strapped to this beautiful pearl white Firebird GTA! When this street car pulled up to the pits, we did a double take when we heard the exhaust note coming from the front bumper of this Stag 2 Buick powered monster. We can’t get enough of these unique power plants! This racer competed in Streetcar Takeover’s Street Racer Outlaw class down in Phoenix, Arizona! |

good news for our farmers, QUOTE AGL pulls out of coal seam gas across Australia, leaving farmers ‘ecstatic’
AGL is pulling out of coal seam gas in Australia, ceasing its exploration and winding down or selling its operational gas fields. Plummeting global oil prices was cited by AGL as one of the main reasons for the decision, in its announcement to the ASX on Thursday morning, as well as lower than expected production volumes from one of its fields in NSW. AGL said a review had concluded that “production of natural gas assets will no longer be a core business for the company”. |

The Australian, who retired at the end of the 2012 season, returned to the track for a private test last Saturday before joining the rest of the field at Malaysia's Sepang circuit on Tuesday and Wednesday. He finished ninth overall, but was fifth fastest on the final day - just 1.49 seconds behind reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo."All in all it's been a very good few days for us, and I'm surprised myself that I was able to do three days of testing," Stoner said. "It's been a really positive test, not only because we worked well with the bike, but also because I was able to get back up to speed right away. "Physically I feel great at the moment, but I'm sure I won't tomorrow." Stoner insists he has no intention to return to competitive racing, preferring to be trackside. The 30-year-old has signed on as Ducati's official test rider for 2016, having spent the previous few years testing for Honda. He won his first MotoGP world title in 2007 with Ducati, and second with Honda in 2011. The next official test is on February 17 at Phillip Island, although Ducati have said Stoner will not take part. http://www.smh.com.au/sport/motorsport/cas...tors_picks=true |
