i posted up about this the other week, unfortunately he's now passed away...... QUOTE http://www.msn.com/en-au/entertainment/cel...KkAC?li=AAgfYrC QUOTE Wonderful Life singer Black dies age 53 Musician Colin Vearncombe, known as Black, has died after suffering head injuries in a car accident. The singer, from Liverpool, who had a global hit in 1987 with Wonderful Life, suffered swelling on his brain in a crash near Cork Airport on January 10. The 53-year-old had been in intensive care since then. His death was announced on his Facebook page on Tuesday night, with the simple message: "Colin Vearncombe. 26/5/1962-26/1/2016. You'll never walk alone". Black's wife Camilla and his three sons paid tribute to the care he had received in Cork University Hospital since the accident. "Colin received the best possible care from the expert and highly professional staff there and we are deeply grateful for everything they did," they said. Black was said to have died peacefully with his family at his bedside "who were singing him on his way". He was soon to become a grandfather, with his eldest son's child due on St Patrick's Day. Best known for 1980s singles Sweetest Smile and Wonderful Life, Black released 15 albums under his own name and also published poetry and staged exhibitions of his paintings in Ireland, where he lived for more than 10 years. The crash occurred as he drove on his own from his home in Schull, west Cork, to catch a flight from Cork to Edinburgh for a songwriting trip. The funeral will be a private one and a memorial service is being planned in Liverpool in the near future with a charity for donations in his memory to be announced. Black's management said they were aware many people will want to celebrate his life and work. They added: "No need to laugh or cry. It's a wonderful, wonderful life". |

you flunky i bet you that you miss falling into the creek every other week and just wanted to post pictures of tractors. A little bit of synchronicity, yesterday,my son had to visit an engineering place, just around the corner from the farm, that we used to use,and when he finished, drove past the farm.He said most of the machinery was sitting out in the weather, both the houses on the property looked abandoned, and most of the grass was waist height.A bean counter (accountant) from Sydney bought the place, but had also bought another smaller farm, two years earlier, which was also on the market.I think he had dollar signs flashing in his head, when he saw all the un-planted land on the place, even though we both warned him that because of the water table, the trees would not survive.Apparently,he planted an extra 1500 trees on his other farm in frost areas, and areas totally unsuitable, but when our place went on the market he dived on it (the real estate lady made $60,000,and didn't even have to put signs up).He had potential buyers for his farm, but nothing was in writing,so he wanted the tenants we had in the brick house to cut short their six month holiday in Pommy Land,so he could move in,but would live in the other house until they returned. Then his potential buyers pulled the pin,so he is now paying off,and running two farms,he could run his farm single handed, but ours needs two for a fair chunk of the year.I did hear on the grapevine he had employed some one,but that won't last long,if he doesn't have a cash flow to pay him. So Alpha the desire to re-visit the place,is not high on my agenda at this point in time,I think I would sooner remember how it was |

It became a little worse when one of the bigger hobby farms decided to open a Boutique Restaurant, which is frequented by lots of Macca growers that can identify all the nasty smells, that emit from a farm.I did get a laugh when my son told me he had this abusive phone call from the owner, for spraying on a windy day, when he had a restaurant full of patrons. The Bean Counter, who doesn't have any of the certificates required to do the job, thought it might be a good idea to spray with a howling Westerly, didn't hear what the outcome was,but my son just said, sorry, not me,new owner The straw came when my other hip started giving me shit, and my son decided he's going to move to Melbourne, his partner lives down there, where they have a large family owned business in the sound insulation industry. My son has a lot of back problems, sitting in a tractor all day looking over his shoulder, and I think he just wants a change, not sure if he intends working in the business, because he's a good all-rounder,but he does like working out doors. His partner can't handle the humidity here,so his only real option is to go down there and become a 'city' boy,he's bought a nice unit here, with great views,so he still has a base here,so now it's only up to me to decide which way I'm going to go,operation is a tad over three weeks away,a bit of down time, then maybe start playing up like a second hand chainsaw, and spending my hard earned |

Yeah I watched that 'vette,Viper video, and the comments were very similar to the other,it's great, but a bit of a handful.Maybe if I look at it this way....... Here's a question that's been on my mind recently: Does engine position and drive type matter a damn thing to handling? We're told all the time: mid-engine+AWD=the best possible track performance...and intuitively it certainly makes sense. I've had FE/FWD, FE/RWD, ME/AWD ME/RWD. All been very different on the track. Looking as seriously as I am at the Z06, it really made me re-evaluate. How the hell is a RWD car with a huge engine in the front one of the fastest cars in the world? Then I had a think and realised that MOST of the fastest production cars on the track are RWD, and many are front or even rear engined. Have we just had the marketing wool pulled over our eyes? Gratuitous shot of Z06 being rad. Mmmm yes it is a real quandry, I think shuffs covered it pretty well, if you read many stories of engineering from Lotus and the development of the MX5 etc, you will see the focus on weight balance, Centre of Gravity are higher than how the power is delivered. It does come down to the driving experience you really want, personally the vette does it for me as the whole package, you get the complete awesome sound, the rear wheel drive fun times on demand, plus not a bad daily, looks and practicalities. If the bias was more towards track days, the GTR would probably edge it in as the driver assists, the 4 wheel drive would make it a winner with less chance of clusterfking it when you have a lapse of concentration. Astons etc supercars etc the whole touchyness and stuff around I really could not be bothered with, the vette is just a commodore GTS with a different body etc, but many shared GM world car parts so it also get the benefit of cheaper performance parts and development. In short, front engined, high powered, rear wheel drive cars are just fun |
