As an aside:
I'll be in Japan week finalising some things.

Here's a few pics of one of the neighborhoods in Tokyo I'm considering.

Denenchofu was designed as a "London style" garden suburb in the 50(?)s.

Forty three years,on the third of February VK unsure.gif

My marriage has gone into the Y WHY phase, she doesn't say NO,just WHY?'When that TV shits itself,I'm going to replace it with a bigger one'.....WHY?Because the border around that TV is 75mm,the new ones are 10mm,so even the same external dimensions,it will be a bigger TV,because of that..........'WHY?It's a dick thing isn't it,like with cars'.So that's where I'm at,if I get a WHY,it might as well be a NO

dunno.gif

But there is some good news with the TV's,I managed to replace a 41 inch Plasma with a 48 inch Sony, and still stay within her guidelines ( I don't want it hanging off the ends of the cabinet!),and the 60 inch in the Family Room has a bit to play with before it hangs over,so Shuffs will probably end up getting his BIG DICK!
41 to 48 inch

Trip to flicks a "reel" rip for Aussies

A trip to the flicks used to be one of the most affordable nights out, but it is no longer the cheap go-to event.

The cost of movie tickets in Australia has reached staggering heights, with viewers paying almost twice the price as consumers in the United States, according to the National Association of Theatre Owners.

In America, the average movie ticket hit a record high of $8.70 ($A12.60), almost half the average price of an Aussie adult ticket which can range upwards of $20.

So why are Australians paying the price?

Taking your kid to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens on a VMAX screen at Event Cinemas in Sydney's Bondi Junction (if you haven't already), will set an adult back $25.00 and a child, $20.00.

Add some large popcorn and of course, the mandatory choc top, and a family trip to the flicks is well past the $100 mark.

Don't think Hoyts is any better.

The cinema charges $31.00 for an adult and $26.00 for a child at IMAX cinema.

God forbid you don't own 3D glasses, because they will charge you for that, too.

Despite the cinema being Australia's favourite cultural venue - according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics - the crippling prices are deterring film fans from the big screen.

"As ticket prices go up, it discourages people from going to the cinema," Yavor Dimitrov, a production coordinator for film company, Heckler, told AAP.

"It becomes more affordable to wait for the film to be released on Bluray or on an online service like Netflix.

"Going to the movies becomes less of a shared community event where we enjoy good storytelling and more of a product to be packaged, sold and catering to the mass market."

Even the more alternative movie venues including Moonlight Cinema have glammed-up prices, with "Gold Grass" tickets an expensive $35 and children aged three to 15, priced $14.50.

Yes, you heard right, that's $14.50 for a three-year-old.

Last year, box office revenue hit a record $11.1 billion in the US.

"The problem of increasing movie prices isn't only due to inflation and competition, it is also because of the ever increasing quantity of large budget blockbusters (like Marvel films) being made," Mr Dimitrov added.

"In today's world where we are surrounded by digital advertising and products, what sells has become more important than ever, overshadowing the basic idea of cinema, a place where we can share in a good story."

i've had to change it's spot out in the back yard, the birds were still managing to aim their derrieres to successfully strafe my car.

other than that i pulled it out the front into the driveway today and gave it it's first 'good' wash. finished under the bonnet, under the boot lid, pulled up the boot rubber and cleaned in there, some touch up cleaning inside the doors and interior where it needed a bit more attention. may have gone a bit overboard to bother drying with a chamois, but meh.

every time i touch it go over it i'm learning a bit more about it, finding those little things that i need to address in restoring it. i've still got to put it up on ramps and dig into the wheel arches / floor pan / tunnel / rails etc but it all looks good enough for a project.

researching more parts last night, narrowing down the prices on the parts required, or just putting things onto my watch list on ebay. An oil cooler for example, $100 delivered, from a 'china' source, or what may be a slightly superior oil cooler from pwr for $520 or so. you find the same sort of price differential when looking at intercoolers and radiators as well............

cars in the garage now for the next couple of days ahead of the SevenofClubs Australia day cruise on Tuesday. all clean and ready to go / fueled up, fluids checked, tyre pressure etc.

Doctor Who: Steven Moffat quits, Chris Chibnall new showrunner

Series 10 of Doctor Who will be Steven Moffat's last, and won't be screened until 2017. Chris Chibnall is his replacement.
It's confirmed: Steven Moffat is to leave his post as showrunner on Doctor Who after series 10. The BBC has confirmed that he will be departing the show, and that regular Doctor Who scribe and Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall will be taking over the job.

There are a few ramifications to this, so bear with us.

Doctor Who: Steven Moffat quits, Chris Chibnall new showrunner© Den of Geek Doctor Who: Steven Moffat quits, Chris Chibnall new showrunner
Firstly, there won't be a series of Doctor Who in 2016, as had been previously rumoured. There will be a Christmas special in December (as you might expect), but that's your lot.

Moffat's final series, series 10, will then air in spring 2017, and will run for 12 episodes. Chibnall will then be able to start his run with series 11 in 2018. It's unclear as of yet who will be in charge for the 2017 Christmas special.

Steven Moffat has said that it "feels odd to be talking about leaving when I’m just starting work on the scripts for season 10, but the fact is my timey-wimey is running out. While Chris is doing his last run of Broadchurch I’ll be finishing up on the best job in the universe and keeping the TARDIS warm for him".

Of his successor, Moffat said that "it took a lot of gin and tonic to talk him into this, but I am beyond delighted that one of the true stars of British Television drama will be taking the Time Lord even further into the future. At the start of season 11, Chris Chibnall will become the new showrunner of Doctor Who. And I will be thrown in a skip".

As for the reason for holding series 10 until next year, BBC One controller Charlotte Moore said that "I have decided to schedule Steven’s big finale series in Spring 2017 to bring the nation together for what will be a huge event on the channel. 2016 is spoilt with national moments including the Euros and Olympics and I want to hold something big back for 2017 – I promise it will be worth the wait!".

As we get further developments, we'll bring them to you.

Best way to find faults with a new vehicle,is to give it a tub, especially,if you polish it after.I'm glad you've moved it from the proximity of that tree,I had a bad feeling in my water with it living there thumbsup.gif

Is your $100 Chinese oil cooler,a 'performance' part, for when you fit the Rotary? When it comes to intergral parts for the conversion,if it were me,I would be very wary buying a 'cheaper' substitute that could cause another component to fail, but that's just me thinking out loud ph34r.gif

If your paying $20+ for a movie you really have to reconsider your choices. I go to the cinemas at Victoria Point, they are modern and comfortable. $6.50 for a student or like $8 for an adult(?). Food is priced well too, small popcorn is like $2. Not expensive at all.

i tend to go to Chermside, but it's pricey, over the $20 a ticket range, if you're seeing something in Vmax and 3d then it's closer to $25. I can get cheaper Telsta Thanks Movie tickets through my phone account which save about $5-8 dollars for a ticket though. I don't go that often, every few months when there's something fairly good, like Star Wars. the new James Bond movie i waited for a 'source' etc.

Yeah, you get what you pay for with cinemas these days. Any half decent screen/sound setup is $20+.

Miami doctor Anjali Ramkissoon caught on camera attacking Uber driver
Hospital places Ramkissoon on leave after tantrum video goes viral

MIAMI (KRON) — The young Florida woman caught on video being belligerent and attacking an Uber driver may have avoided a night in jail, but she could be out of a job, according to her employer.

According to a statement from Jackson Health System, Anjali Ramkissoon, a fourth-year neurology resident, “has been placed on administrative leave, effective immediately, and removed from all clinical duties.”

Video of Ramkissoon’s outburst was posted to YouTube Tuesday along with the title, “Drunk Girl Tries To Hijack An Uber and Destroys His Car!” The clip has since garnered over 1.5 million.

Juan Cinco, the videographer who posted the video on YouTube, says that he was on the phone Sunday night with the Uber driver waiting to be picked up when “out of nowhere the girl in the video gets in the backseat of his car and won’t get out.”

“We told the driver it was ok, to just cancel our ride, but he did not want to take her anywhere so he kept telling her to get out,” he says.

The driver eventually lures the woman out the car but the situation turns violent. That’s when Cinco fired up his camera and recorded the wild tantrum.

Cinco’s video shows the woman Anjali Ramkissoon attempting to slap the driver and then kicks him in the groin area.

The two struggle a little longer before the driver climbs back into his car. Ramkissoon jumps into the front passenger seat and starts tossing out papers and other items out of the car.

“Get the f*** in the car you piece of f*** disgusting s***,” she hollers at the driver.

Miami Police responded to the scene after receiving calls of a disturbance. The Uber driver reportedly refused to press charges and Ramkissoon gave him money as an apology.

“Once in handcuffs, she then tried kicking some of the police officers on the scene. It was only when they put her in the police car that she started crying, apologizing, and claiming that she would lose her medical license (she claimed to be a neurologist) if she got arrested,” Cinco says in his YouTube post.

Cinco, citing the driver’s own words, wrote “‘…she was crying (and) said (she) was sorry for everything.” I don’t want to disclose the amount the driver was paid, but can say he could only use the money to pay his cellphone bill and maybeee his cable bill.'”

Ramkissoon employers say they are conducting their own investigation into the incident.

“Jackson has launched an internal investigation. The outcome of the investigation will determine if any disciplinary action will be taken, up to and including termination,” the statement says.

Uber also announced that Ramkissoon’s account has been suspended.
