Had a BBQ last night,and there was a storm warning for the Northern Rivers,so before I went down to start,I checked the BOM,and there was a cell down near Grafton,and the way it was tracking,it looked like it pass through Yamba.What I didn't take into consideration,was the fact that the cell might increase in size

Finished the Barbie,cleaned everything up,and was just knocking the last of my beer down in the garage,when the cat came piss-bolting inside......25mm in 20 minutes,would've had wet fetlocks if I'd been still cooking!

No winners in Powerball drawing - new jackpot is $675 million

Powerball has announced there were no winning jackpot tickets sold for its $500 million drawing on Wednesday. Without a winner, the next jackpot will be an estimated $675 million.

The next drawing is set for Saturday.

On Wednesday, the Powerball numbers drawn were 2, 11, 47, 62, 63 and 17.
The $675 million jackpot will be the biggest in U.S. history, topping a March 2012 jackpot of $656 million.

The grand prize hit $400 million over the weekend after another winner-less drawing on Saturday, and then hit $450 million on Tuesday. It climbed another $50 million since Tuesday morning, according to lottery officials.

An estimated 300 million new tickets purchased between Sunday and Wednesday.
"This is more than 10 times what we see when the jackpot is at the lower levels," Texas Lottery spokesperson Kelly Cripe said Tuesday when it stood at $450 million.

Nobody has matched all six numbers in one of the bi-weekly Powerball drawings since Nov. 7, 2015. That's 17 drawings with no winner.

Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Coles to exchange Dick Smith gift cards bought at its supermarkets

Coles insiders have hit back at criticism the supermarket chain promoted Dick Smith gift cards just weeks before the electronics retailer went into administration, saying a "10 per cent extra value" deal was driven by Dick Smith, not Coles.

The supermarket chain on Friday offered to exchange Dick Smith gift cards bought at its supermarkets before Dick Smith's collapse this week for Coles gift cards of equal value, in the first good news for Dick Smith shoppers this week. Coles has also written to Dick Smith's administrator, McGrath Nicol, urging it to honour outstanding gift cards.

Dick Smith called in McGrath Nicol on Tuesday, leaving customers with thousands of dollars of unredeemable gift vouchers and employees uncertain about their future.

I feel for Dick Smith,(the founder) in all this,it's his name being dragged through the mud,yet he hasn't owned the business since 1980,when Woolworths bought it.It's the current turkey that bought it from Woolworths in 2012,Anchorage Capital, led by former Myer executive Nick Abboud that's fcuked it,with pure greed,Trying to get too big too quickly

Patrick Stewart says he'd play Star Trek's Capt. Jean-Luc Picard again: on one condition

Sir Patrick Stewart may not be returning as Professor X in X-Men: Apocalypse, but there’s another beloved sci-fi franchise he’d be keen to return to.

And that franchise is, of course, Star Trek.

Before he was known as Charles Xavier, Stewart played Capt. Jean-Luc Picard on seven seasons on Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994) before reprising the role in four movies (Star Trek: Generations, First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis). His last appearance in a Starfleet uniform was in 2002's Nemesis, the last of the "traditional" Trek flicks, until Paramount revived the franchise and director J.J. Abrams made it all flashy explosions and lens flares in 2009's action-packed Star Trek.

Even though it’s been 13 years, would Patrick Stewart play the role again? Yep, but there's a condition.

Answering a fan question on Facebook during a Q&A hosted by Entertainment Weekly earlier today, here’s what the British actor (who recently revealed that he almost played Picard with a French accent) said:

“Absolutely... if it were a really good script. But, the poor soul is getting old and long in the tooth. He would probably need some help mounting his horse unlike the youthful captain of 30 years ago.”

Following that, another fan asked who he would see in the role of a young Picard:

“I would have to say it must be the actor, my son, Daniel Stewart.”

Patrick Stewart’s son Daniel appeared in Star Trek: TNG’s season-five episode “The Inner Light,” which is considered to be one of the very best episodes (it often makes top ten, five, etc., etc. lists of best Next Gen eps) the show offered fans over its illustrious seven seasons.
