this is the sort of thing that i'm happy to give the widest circulation possible so as to hopefully catch the culprit. video footage is in the link. QUOTE Thief robs Brisbane car workshop in plain view of cameras A thief has stolen more than $9000 of custom-made car parts from a Coopers Plains workshop, with his every move recorded on five security cameras. Footage shows the man selecting parts from the shelves of Evolution Coatings just before 5pm Sunday. He uses a crate to carry his loot and even tries to take a heavy welder before deserting it outside. The parts had been made for the custom restoration of a Holden Commodore VK, and the team and car owner involved have been devastated by the theft. “I was absolutely gutted. These boys worked pretty solid for me for three months on all those parts,” owner Graeme Anderson said. “He’s a scumbag, mate, he’s not going to use it for anything apart from trying to flog it off for one-tenth of what it’s worth,” parts maker Andrew Coles, from Spot On Performance and Fabrications, said. A custom-made radiator, intercooler and alternator were among the total $9341 of parts stolen. Mr Anderson and the team are hopeful the clear footage will help to identify the thief, and have offered a $4,000 reward to anyone who can name him. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. |

watch it while you can. will no doubt get taken down on account of violating youtubes anti piracy laws etc etc as soon as a complaint is made. How much of that show is scripted Alpha? It's the first one I've ever watched, and I thought after the first couple of minutes, there's no way I'm gonna go the distance, but I stuck with it hoping to see the Rednecks, get their arses handed to them on a plate. Unfortunately that didn't happen, but it was nice to see that Ute at the start spewing oil everywhere, can't see me being a fan of the show |

something for the bike lovers......... To me,that is way too much power for two wheels, and there is no way you could enjoy it safely. It all looks great on the video, because they've got it ratcheted down on the Dyno, but in real circumstances that would break traction in a nanosecond Tomorrow I'll post up a vid of half that horsepower, trying to get power to the Dyno, when you have light weight involved, and also,Alpha,a new 'Kid on the Block',you may, (or may not) be interested in |

OK I can see where you're going now. It was just that my young bloke put me onto a couple of series on vehicle restorations, where they buy a Classic, for as cheap as they can, then restore it to Concourse condition, and try and make a profit. One was as scripted as fcuk, but watchable(he said grimacing ),the other was much more credible does the bike in question that you're talking about having half the power have a sufficiently fat c**t sitting on it like the video i posted? or is it a skinny little stick figure? Sorry but I'm on my Tablet,so behind the eight ball,as far as doing tech shit goes, but you can see how much that Busa is pulled down onto the Dyno, and (I don't think even Dai would love to jump on it IRL),Tomorrow morning,' when you've still got your thumb in your bum,and your mind in neutral ',I shall endeavor to fulfill my promises, including the new kid on the block, for your identification , so stay tuned Padwan |

QUOTE Queensland Police helicopter Polair films 'stolen' ute speeding along motorway, colliding with truck
Dramatic footage showing a ute swerving along a freeway, colliding with a truck, and being driven along the footpath with the bonnet up in an effort to evade arrest has been released by the Queensland Police Service (QPS). The QPS helicopter, Polair, filmed the ute, allegedly driven by an unlicensed 17-year-old Parkinson man, from above as it sped down the M1 freeway south of Brisbane, at one point unsuccessfully trying to dodge between two trucks and being spun off into a guard rail. Police first attempted to intercept the vehicle, allegedly stolen from a Tanah Merah address earlier that day, about 11:40am on Monday. Police will allege the driver evaded officers as he entered the Pacific Motorway and proceeded south along the M1 near Stapylton. The ute was sighted again about 2:00pm in Springwood, where police successfully deployed tyre deflation devices on Dennis Road. A short, low-speed pursuit ensued before the vehicle came to a stop against a gutter and the driver was taken into custody. The 17-year-old has been charged with two counts of failing to stop a motor vehicle and one count each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a licence. He was due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday. |

This is Leon's Trike,it's powered by a 2.4 litre, twin turbo motor,),and is a weapon, considering what weight it's pushing,(mine's 1.8,supercharged).This is what happened, when they tried to Dyno it,because they just couldn't get the power to the rollers,(it actually pumps out over 200 BHP,at the wheels) |

There's a bloke at the bottom of the hill,(I live just the other side of that highest tree on the horizon,in the first photo),and he's always tinkering with cars.I noticed on the weekend that he has a new project. There was no one there, when I drove past yesterday,so I took a couple shitty pics from the road with my phone. Is this anywhere near the vintage of yours?I can try and get a couple of better photos with my camera, when there's some one home if you like

What sort of timber is it?Looks like the actual box has been carved out of one piece, either way,a lot of work gone into it, not sure, i didn't delve into the comments to see if someone mentioned it / took a guess. definitely not one piece of wood. there's a lot of shaping that's gone into it either with some sort of belt sander, possibly even a die grinder. timber choice has added to the effect. wooden doweling to attach individual pieces etc. i could get the general gist of it if i were to make it, but a very individual piece. |

The cradle and the lid plus the end bits that have been added, sort of look like they could be the same timber. That 'eroded' effect,I have also seen done using a sand blaster, particularly, when you have a combination of hard, and soft grain. As you said 'unique',looks like when you open the lid,it would be full of gold Doubloons |
