good progress (highlighted section). QUOTE Girl in suitcase: Detectives identify a main suspect in killings of Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and daughter Khandalyce 1/16
Detectives investigating the murders of a mother and her young daughter have made a major breakthrough in their inquiries identifying a key suspect in the killings. Police in NSW and South Australia have been inundated with information and tip-offs from the public a day after they went public with the identities of single mother Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and her daughter Khandalyce Pearce-Stevenson. Fairfax Media has learnt that investigators in both states have made rapid progress in the investigation and have identified a male suspect. It is understood the man is in custody in a NSW jail, serving a prison sentence for unrelated offences. A spokesman on Thursday night said police were "keeping an open mind" to their inquiries. "Police are following a number of lines of inquiries in relation to the deaths of Karlie and Khandalyce Pearce-Stevenson," the police spokesman said. The revelation came 24 hours after they revealed that the body of a woman dumped in Belanglo State Forest that was discovered by trail bike riders in 2010 was single mother Karlie Pearce-Stevenson. Investigators said that she was the mother of Khandalyce Pearce-Stevenson, whose body was found in a suitcase in July off the Karoonda Highway, near the South Australian town of Wynarka. Police only learnt the identities of both victims in the last fortnight and that both homicide cases were related. The breakthrough came via a tip-off to CrimeStoppers on October 8. Their deaths are now the subject of a joint murder investigation by SA and NSW police and also involving their counterparts in the ACT and NT. South Australian police said on Thursday they had received 30 Crime Stoppers calls relating to Ms Pearce-Stevenson and her daughter. Dozens of calls have been received by police in other states, including NSW. The last known sighting of Khandalyce and her mother was on 8 November 2008, when they were stopped by police while driving down the Stuart Highway near Coober Pedy in South Australia. At that time, Karlie was aged 20, and Khandalyce was aged two. Ms Pearce-Stevenson went through primary school in Braitling in Alice Springs' northern suburbs, where she also spent part of her childhood. The keen netball player went to Alice Springs High School before leaving the Northern Territory town after 2006 with Khandalyce. A man who knew Ms Stevenson-Pearce as a teenager said she was a nice girl who met a horrific end. The man, who did not want to be named, said he knew her and a close friend from parties when they were younger. "I know she had her kid and then her and Andrew (the child's father) had troubled times," he said. He said he didn't know she had been missing until police revealed the breakthrough on Wednesday. "That's why the story shocked me yesterday," he said. Ms Pearce-Stevenson's step-brother, Luke Povey, still lives in Alice Springs and works as a glazier. Her step-father is also to believed to live in the town, along with extended relatives. Her mother Colleen Povey died in 2012. Police said Ms Pearce-Stevenson's extended family had believed mother and daughter had been living interstate alive and well. The family appealed for donations to assist with the costs of repatriating their bodies back to Alice Springs. According to the crowd-funding page, believed to be organised by Ms Pearce-Stevenson's cousin, the family "spent the last six years desperately trying to locate their whereabouts" after the pair went missing in 2009. "Our family is asking for assistance to help us raise the funds to bring Karlie and Khandalyce's remains home to Alice Springs so that they can be reunited and laid to rest together with family." In 24 hours, the family raised $3,940 from more than 40 separate donations. The family has since closed donations to the crowd-funding page after a local government offered the remaining assistance required to bury Ms Pearce-Stevenson and Khandalyce in Alice Springs. |

talk about getting older, you need to get your eye's checked grumbles doesn't look like i'm going to get my evening walk in tonight. i was cutting back this week on the longer distances in one hit (21km as often as my legs allowed / ie injury recovery time) and doing shorter walks of 12km each night. How often do you walk?Even 12 kilometers is NOT exactly what I would call a 'walk' This is what we had here last evening,no large hail thank God! Taken from Byron Bay lookout, looking south |

Yeah only seen that video properly today, some people need to be shot on the spot. Fortunately i'll only ever be on two wheels or dead lol. She suggested being a pillion sucks as you have nothing to hang on when shit goes wrong. I can finally tour in peace lol. Must admit,it doesn't look like a bike that would be comfortable to be a pillion on.Obviously great for you, which is testament in the distances you travel, but pillions on that style of bike, always seem 'perched',over seated. |

Actually I don't think so. I've never gelled with this car as much as I did the Merc. That said, I never gelled with the Merc as well as I did the Chrysler, and I never gelled with THAT as well as I did the Roady lol. |

so i sent an inquiry to see if i could find out more details about when to the nbn rollout would be completed for our area, this was the response now forget about the March commencement date as indicated by their website and the flyer we received i guess it's as i think vk134 said / hinted at, we can expect to be waiting a fair while longer yet..........middle of next year here we come I've given up on the NBN,it'll be years before we get it. Since 2004,we have been on a package, with Optus,36 Gig of DSL1 data, now costing $83,with every third month free, and the phone,(which we don't use),for $62,a month,so roughly $140 a month. Last month,we wiped Optus and swapped over to IPrimus,...300 Gig of ADSL2,plus phone, with all calls free, except international, for $69.So for half the cost,we now have ten times the amount of faster data plus the phone.Who's a silly old fart for not doing it sooner |

That was our problem exactly,we new that 36 Gig wasn't going to be enough with me being retired, and not that mobile, until I have my hip replacement,so we approached Optus for a different bundle, which we signed up for,and they then found out they could not supply it.We found out that if we wanted ADSL2 we would have to go with Telstra,or a company that is tied in with them, which IPrimus is.So here we are,and very happy |

That 36 Gig plan we had was 12 Gig,on,24 off peak, and the 12 Gig was what controlled the whole bundle speed PIA.Because the ADSL we are on now is so much quicker, the Mrs is streaming shit, and I'm spending more time on You Tube,so its easy to burn it,not that we could ever use 10 Gig a day. |

The ride down south wasn't too bad for her,the seat was like a 2x4 as the hours went on but i loved every minute and even wanted to keep riding after 11hours of riding. With the original handlebars unfortunately it did have that style where she would cop the wind that went over my helmet but with the helibars it had me sitting more upright and blocking the wind. I'm hoping that i will have the new to me bike in 2 weeks from tomorrow then it's straight to Sydney on it via back roads to see my sister. Should be two 14 hour days to get down there and some riding whilst there. |

A big fcuk off pod filter and one of those huge cannon mufflers would be worth an easy 500 horses. A big TRD sticker on the arse gets you another 100 easy. Finish it off by reclining the seat right back, chuck on some old sheets as seat covers and you're sweet. Happy to help. Can't forget the toothless bogan either. |

drama in Sepang.. this all started the other day when Rossi accused MM of helping JLo to get more points in the WC.. a few riders even said at Phillip Island MM was just playing with us.. he clearly had the speed to go to the front but he stayed with Rossi and Iannone to slow them down to get JLo more space at the front.. it did seem strange coz last lap Jlo had a 1sec lead over MM and within half a lap MM caught him and passed him to take the win.. but anyway.. Rossi said he just hopes every one runs their own race today as he and Jlo are battling out for a wc.. after seeing today i think alot of people will now agree with Rossi, could clearly see today after JLo passed MM for 2nd spot MM never challenged him back which is what MM always does.. instead his pace dropped off abit and he wanted to battle with Rossi.. they were have a huge battle with some of MM's passes right on the limit, i reckon he touched Rossi 3 times.. If rossi is penalized the WC is pretty much over.. yer im a big fan but what he did was wrong.. when i saw it i was like WTF... clealy slowed down into the corner.. has 2 big looks over his shoulder to see where MM was they bumped then again and Mm went down. now people are saying Rossi kicked him off.. from one angle it looks like that but pretty sure his foot came off the peg when they touched which made it look like he kicked him lol.. oh fcuk me.. couldnt get anymore intense.. other people saying Is race fixing illegal? What Marc Maquez did is clear race fixing. He could have easily caught Lorenzo but instead chose to slow down so that Rossi cannot catch up with Lorenzo. Is this legal at all? they will both have their own version of the race.. but clearly this one is not a racing incident.. then on the podium the crowd was booing JLo alot.. when it was time to spray the champers JLo walked off. didnt even stay for podium photo's.. i think yamaha bosses would not be pleased with that.. finish the job mate even if you are getting booed.. |
