I won ACDC tickets and $375 cash today on Triple M.
I've seen ACDC a couple of times....and loved it.But decided against buying tickets this time, just worried it's gonna let down how good they were in the day.
That being said,not going to say no to freebies!

Funny,I watched this on Youtube,and was confused,because the write up said it was powered by electric motors,yet it had exhausts,plus a nice rumble when they were unloading it.Reading some of the comments,apparently the guy driving it said that the engine was actually plastic,and,when the vid finishes,there is another video,taken on the same day,showing them loading it back on the truck,where it doesn't make a sound.

I'm not an anti-gun nutter but taking a gun to school is taking the piss. That said the alternative of stricter gun controls probably won't work in the US as there's just so many guns.

i noticed the same thing, but thought, there's got to be an engine in there somewhere or why would the car have exhaust tips.

Julian Assange: Scotland Yard ends 24-hour guard on Ecuadorian embassy

Police officers have stopped guarding the embassy in London where the Wikileaks founder took refuge, saying it is no longer "proportionate"

Scotland Yard has removed the permanent police guard from outside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London where they have based since Wikileaks founder Julian Assange took refuge there in June 2012, it has been announced.

Officers have been stationed outside the embassy building in Knightsbridge, west London, round the clock for the past three years after a warrant for Mr

Assange’s arrest was issued when he failed to surrender for extradition to Sweden where he is wanted for questioning on allegations of sexual assault.

It is estimated to have cost the taxpayer in excess of £10 million to maintain the police guard outside the embassy and a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said it had been decided that the deployment was no longer “proportionate”.

The spokesman added that if Mr Assange attempted to leave the building “the MPS will make every effort to arrest him” and would use “covert tactics”.
In a statement Scotland Yard said: “Whilst the MPS remains committed to executing the arrest warrant and presenting Julian Assange before the court, it is only right that the policing operation to achieve this is continually reviewed against the diplomatic and legal efforts to resolve the situation.

“As a result of this continual review the MPS has today Monday, 12 October withdrawn the physical presence of officers from outside the Embassy.
“The operation to arrest Julian Assange does however continue and should he leave the Embassy the MPS will make every effort to arrest him. However it is no longer proportionate to commit officers to a permanent presence.”

Mr Assange’s lawyers have claimed that if he was sent to Sweden he would subsequently be at risk of being extradited to the US, where he believes he would face political persecution for WikiLeaks’ disclosures of sensitive information.

Mr Assange, 44, was alleged to have raped a woman known as SW, then aged 26, and committed other sexual offences against AA, a 31-year-old woman.
The lesser sexual allegations have now lapsed because of the Swedish statute of limitations, or the maximum time within which criminal charges must be brought, but the rape allegation could see charges brought as late as 2020.

Shane Warne launches social media campaign to bring back Tasty Toobs: Heartfelt loss or clever marketing spin? 6/37

Retired cricketing great Shane Warne has come out swinging at the news Australian junk food snack Tasty Toobs are no more.

Smith’s Snackfoods Company cited lack of consumer demand for the junk food as a reason for pulling the product from supermarket shelves across the country last week, prompting some consumer outcry on social media.

Warne took to his own Facebook page this week to lament the removal of the snack and even posted a video about the “demise of the Toobs”.

In the video posted to his social media page last night, Warne told his fans the snack is one of the things he looks forward to when he comes back to Australia, and finished by calling on others to campaign to get Smith’s to bring back the snack.

“Where are the Toobs, I read in the paper yesterday they’ve shut down Toobs. This cannot be happening,” Warne said.

“Toobs must come back, Toobs cannot disappear.

“Smith’s, get in touch, I’ve got a campaign.”

Warne added two hashtags to his “campaign”: #WhereAreTheToobs and #SaveToobs

Consumers have had an off and on again relationship with the snack in the past, with the Toobs first disappearing from production in 2001, only to come back in 2007.

Nicole Reaney, director of InsideOutPR, told SmartCompany this morning a social media campaign from a celebrity such as Warne could potentially have a huge impact on a brand’s decision to pull an item.

She says Warne’s campaign is an example of how social media influencer marketing is becoming more prevalent.

“If you consider Shane’s following, which is about 500,000 followers on Facebook and about 2.3 million on Twitter,” she says.

“If that resulted in 5% in people buying Toobs or campaigning with him I’m certain this brand could be restored by Smith’s, it could become a good awareness campaign.”

Reaney says while Smith’s may have pulled the product for commercial reasons, a publicity campaign spearheaded by the likes of Warne has the potential to restore “brand love”.

“It could even bring out a limited edition to get people back on board,” she says.

Reaney says she wouldn’t be surprised to discover it is a smart publicity campaign with Warne purposely brought on board to boost the brand.

“Brands are really tapping into influencers online; this is a great way to generate awareness and a following for the brand,” she says.

Reaney says such a campaign could result in the brand reappearing at some point.

“It’s reminding consumers the product’s out there and they need to support the product in order for it to stay on the shelves,” she says.

MH17: Downed Malaysia Airlines flight shot down by BUK missile fired from eastern Ukraine, Dutch Safety Board says 1/13

Dutch authorities have officially confirmed crashed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by a missile fired from eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board.

Delivering its final report on the tragedy, the Dutch Safety Board said MH17 crashed as result of the detonation of a warhead to the left of the plane's cockpit.

Parts of the missile were found in bodies of three crew in the cockpit who were killed instantly, the board said.

Passengers on the flight not killed by the missile were unconscious within moments, it said.

Authorities said 61 airlines were flying over eastern Ukraine when the Malaysia Airlines flight crashed, but said airlines flying over the area should have recognised the dangers.

The board said Ukraine should have closed the airspace over the country's east.

International regulations should also be changed to increase transparency about flight routes as a result of the crash, it said.

MH17 was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur in July 2014 when the Boeing 777 crashed over eastern Ukraine, where Russian-backed rebels were fighting Ukrainian forces.

The Dutch lost 193 citizens and 38 Australians were onboard.

Before officially unveiling the report at the Gilze-Rijen air base, families and media were able to view a partial reconstruction of the doomed plane, made from pieces of wreckage brought back from the crash site.

The long awaited findings of the board, which was not empowered to address questions of responsibility, did not specify who launched the missile.

Moscow has vehemently denied any involvement in the crash, pointing the finger instead at Ukrainian government forces who were battling a fierce rebellion by pro-Russian separatists in the east.

A criminal inquiry into the flight's downing is still underway. That report is not due until the middle of next year.

Get rear ended at 80km/h but the car was travelling a lot faster[i made motions to stop tail gating in a town 5 mins down the road],pushed into a ute in front and old mate kept accelerating forcing us sideways into said ute,once the rear got traction it popped us out into the centre line where my headlight clipped a caravan heading in the opposite direction thus making it roll and catch on fire. I rode the bike till the end and ended up getting smacked by it once i left,my partner slid down the road and is having surgery on her hand/knee tomorrow,myself on the other hand has permanent neck/shoulder injuries.

MotoGP Australia: Rossi remaining calm ahead of pivotal Australian MotoGP 14 October 2015
With just three rounds now to stand in the way of a potentially historic MotoGP title win for Valentino Rossi, he insists he is approaching the race-by-race.
Valentino Rossi insists he is not calculating what he can do to protect his MotoGP World Championship advantage over Jorge Lorenzo, despite coming into the final three rounds with a comfortable 18 point lead.

The Italian remained on course for his first MotoGP title since 2009 with a measured drive to second place in the Japanese Grand Prix, crucially just ahead of third place Lorenzo.

With Yamaha now confirmed as the riders' champions for 2015, Rossi is looking forward to getting back to an iconic MotoGP venue at Phillip Island for the Australian MotoGP event – where he was a winner last season -, he maintains he is not focusing on the temptation to settle for points if necessary.

We hope for a good weekend like last year and we will try to ride a good race to arrive on the podium, in front of Jorge. I think it's best to take the championship race by race, focus on Phillip Island and try to make the most of it.

Phillip Island is a very particular track. I like it, as does the majority of the rider, but it's always difficult to find the right setting and the conditions are often tricky with lots of wind and cold temperatures.

Jorge Lorenzo says he will do everything he can to overturn the 18 point deficit to Valentino Rossi with three rounds of the 2015 MotoGP World Championship remaining.

After finishing behind his title rivalling Yamaha team-mate in Japan, Lorenzo now faces a steeper mountain to climb in Australia, where Rossi was a race winner last season, knowing three wins won't necessarily be enough to clinch the title is Rossi finishes second.

Frustrated to lose out to Rossi in Motegi when drying conditions saw him slip back in the closing stages, Lorenzo insists he will throw everything at his efforts to recover the ground in the remaining Australia, Malaysia and Valencia rounds

After another strange race I lost some value points in Motegi but I'm still in contention for the championship title. It's true 18 points behind Valentino is a difficult margin to cut down but I will try with all my efforts. If I'm able to win all the races and Vale makes any mistake we can win the championship.

Now we are facing another nice race. Phillip Island is a track I like a lot but also Vale enjoys it here so it will be interesting. It's a very demanding track for the setting of the bike, also because of the tricky weather conditions, so we need to be prepared for anything.
