QUOTE Audi and Skoda report 3.3m 'cheat' cars
Audi and Skoda say they have a total of 3.3 million cars fitted with the software that allowed parent company Volkswagen to cheat US emissions tests. Some 2.1 million Audis affected worldwide include 1.42 million in western Europe, with 577,000 in Germany, and almost 13,000 in the US. Czech-based Skoda said 1.2 million of its cars were involved, but has yet to give a country or model breakdown. Separately, German prosecutors started a probe against VW's former boss. Former chief executive Martin Winterkorn will be investigated over "allegations of fraud in the sale of cars with manipulated emissions data," German authorities said on Monday. The Audi models affected include the A1, A3, A4, A5, A6, TT, Q3 and Q5 models, a spokesman told the Reuters news agency. New chief VW said last week that 11 million cars within the group could be affected. The scandal was revealed after the US Environmental Protection Agency found that some diesel cars were fitted with devices that could detect when the engine was being tested and could change the car's performance to improve results. The German company apologised for breaching consumers' trust, and on Friday announced that Matthias Mueller was replacing Martin Winterkorn as chief executive. Mr Matthias promised a "relentless" investigation to uncover what went wrong. There were also unconfirmed reports on Monday that senior R&D heads working across the car group had been suspended. Reuters said the suspensions involved staff from the Audi, Porsche and the VW brands. Meanwhile, Volkswagen shares continue to fall in morning trading, sinking a further 6.6% in addition to last week's tumble. The scandal has badly tarnished VW's name, left it exposed to up to $18bn in US fines, and wiped a third off its stock market value in a week. German authorities have demanded that VW set out a timeline by 7 October on how it will ensure its diesel cars meet national emission standards without using cheat technology. There were widespread German media reports at the weekend that the government ignored warnings two years ago that VW was using the software. However, on Monday, a government spokesman denied this. |

I'll never get Japan's weird no sex thing. Apparently all the men have just gone off sex. If you have ever been to Japan and looked at the quality on offer, this boggles the mind. Lots of weird things, their strange obsession of doing crazy things with/to cats, springs to mind immediately, but yeah the women I'd be like a kid in a candy store if I went there.I have a mate that left last Thursday,to do a three week push bike riding jaunt (of all things),I'd be happy to sit and Oh what a feeling. Picked it up today You will have a lot of fun with that K,is it diesel? The angle of that photo, looks like a 'selfie',thinking how many times 'til you 'nailed it',maybe Alpha was right about hanging off the gutter. |

Once again it would be looking very ominous out to the west for you Brisbanites, and it looks like we are going to get the very bottom of it raced home from the gym to avoid the storm. you'd be amazed how many traffic lights / train signals and generally slow driving fcukwits you encounter when you're trying to get your car home and into your garage to avoid the hail |

just leaving this here....... In fifty years time, once the wrinkles start kicking in,she's going to look like a screwed up old magazine you need these guys out at the farm Shuff's, if only your trees could be trimmed this quickly lol Impressed!Bet they had tired arms after ten thousand trees though, and they would've needed a ladder for the trees on the farm, because most of them are over ten meters high, not that the farm is a worry for me anymore,it's sold.A bean counter (with more money than sense) from Sydney bought it |

QUOTE Street Outlaws Star Murder Nova and Chief’s Shop has been SHOT UP! HELP FIND HIM! Street Outlaws Star Murder Nova (Shawn’s) Shop has been SHOT UP! HELP FIND HIM! It’s pretty unfortunate that when somebody blows up and has their own fair share of hard earned success, there’s always somebody there to try and drag them down. This time, the level of attack is escalated to an all new high. If you haven’t heard yet, Midwest Streetcars was recently the victim of a few semi-automatic bullet holes as somebody decided to roll up on their shop while the doors were closed and shoot the place up, leaving a huge mess and tons of damage and surprisingly taking nothing with them. As if that wasn’t enough, shortly after the perp headed over to Shawn’s (Murder Nova) personal residence looking for more. We got the chance to hop on the phone with Shawn and he tells us that he was alerted by a doorbell on his front gate which made him spring to action. After making sure it wasn’t his son coming in, he went out the garage door, which you can see as the light at the top right of your screen goes on, in the video below, at which point the armed suspect was found standing by Shawn’s truck and ran away to either hide momentarily or take off all together off as Shawn gave chase and tried to find him. Right now, we’re in the process of trying to figure out who was behind these heinous actions and Midwest is offering up a $5000 reward to anybody who can offer the tip that could lead to the apprehension of the criminal behind it all. Even though it’s not right by any means, attacking a place of business is one thing, but going to a place where somebody’s family resides is on a whole new level of unacceptable. Shawn tells us that he’s not even that mad, but just really wants to know why somebody would be provoked to carry out such a plan in the first place. Check out the video surveillance footage below from Shawn’s personal shop outside of his house that shows the suspect walking past, not even acknowledging the shop as he goes straight for the house which was when Shawn came outside. We aren’t really sure what type of person would even think to do something like this. If you know anything at all that might help in bringing justice to the situation, Contact Midwest Streetcars via Facebook message directly. Hopefully, they can get the footing that they need to bring this case to a close. Read more at: http://tr.im/mtZu2 |

How would that affect me being a QLD license holder?. I rarely speed around anyway. Sorry Dai,I'd just about finished my post and my Mrs bought a 'Quick hide all the grog, neighbor'down to my refuge, and I've only just gotten rid of him.To be honest I have no idea what happens with interstate drivers, will Google tomorrow. What I was halfway through typing, was that Sunday is a big VW drag meet at Warwick,I normally go up with my son,he has a Golf, and a '74 L Bug,,but even if he takes the Golf this year,I don't think I'll go,so if you're in the area, and you want to touch base, and eat a few insects together I can PM my mobile number,or vice versa.I haven't started it in a couple of weeks,so just have to kick it in the guts, and put some fuel in it.So let me know |

here's another QUOTE 'Vegemite is racist because it's black': American woman's bizarre anti-Aussie rant sparks online outrage - but can she be serious? Cassidy Boon uploaded a video explaining her farcical theory on YouTube The 20-year-old believes the yeast paste is a tool for racial oppression She launched a #banvegemite hashtag in hope of boycotting the spread It’s well known that Americans find Vegemite difficult-to-digest, but this woman's explanation of why is probably in bad taste. Self-proclaimed feminist Cassidy Boon-best known for her #MaleLivesDontMatter campaign-has declared that Australia’s national spread is a tool for racial oppression. In the baffling video titled ‘Eating Vegemite is racist towards Aboriginals - because it is black,’ the 20-year-old presents her farcical theory and calls for the snack to be boycotted. ‘If you eat vegemite, you’re literally what’s wrong with the world’ she explains. ‘Ever since the 1950s-or whatever-vegemite has been a way to symbolically make white Australians feel superior to Aboriginals by literally eating their f*****g skin in a jar.’ The passionate activist claims she lived in Australia for seven years, a time which made her ‘ashamed of all of you.’ She vows to launch a #banvegemite campaign to raise awareness about the oppressive spread, which was developed in 1922. ‘Together, we can get Vegemite banned and give Aboriginals the justice they deserve.’ It comes after a American comedian Steve Higgins tasted the yeast byproduct live on air last year and declared it is ‘not for the American palate.' Evidently he wasn’t kidding. |

How would that affect me being a QLD license holder?. I rarely speed around anyway. OK,in answer to your question, double demerit points will be applied to your NSW driving history, but the fine and points applied to your license will be the same as if you committed the offence in QLD. QUOTE If a Queensland driver licence holder commits a traffic offence in New South Wales during a double demerits point period, the offence will be recorded as a double demerit offence on the driver’s New South Wales Traffic History. The New South Wales Driver Licensing Authority will then report the offence to Queensland Transport who will record the offence on the driver’s Queensland Traffic History. However, in relation to the driver’s Queensland Traffic History, Queensland Transport will only impose the number of demerit points that the offence would have attracted if the offence had been committed in Queensland. I will be doing it Saturday hopefully,i'll google map the distance later and work out the overall time but that should be fine. I should be around on Saturday,As I said,Sunday is the only 'iffy' day,and that will be dependent on if/what vehicle he wants to take to Warwick.Today I might poke the Trike in the pants,as when I'm not running the Supercharger,I use a twin throat Weber, and because it has a small float chamber, can be a bit cantankerous to start if it's been sitting for a while.I'll PM you my mobile number, and if you feel like it,you can either, ring,or text me,and I'll ring you back, when you're in the area if you want,up to you |
