Salim Mehajer, a former deputy mayor of Auburn, Australia council, was one of the most visible mayors in the Auburn, Australia. Mehajer has a high school diploma. On August 15, 2015, Mehajer hosted his own wedding at the cost of £23 million and illegally closing Frances Street. Residents were unable to leave their homes and emergency services were blocked from passing through. Mehajer illegally left notices in residents' mailboxes notifying them that their vehicles would be towed if left on their private property. This was not approved by police or the council.

Salim Mehajer is now being investigated for fraud, money laundering, and illegal immigration. Mehajer has a previous criminal conviction for a hit and run on a mother and her child in his black Ferrari. The pair spent a month in hospital. Him, his new wife, Aysha Mehajer and known associate, Ibrahim Azam deny doing anything wrong.

His father, Mohamed Mehajer was previously in prison for trying to commit fraud on the Australian National Bank for over $3 million

Route 29 Batman is killed after his Batmobile breaks down along a Md. highway

The Route 29 Batman, whose roadside encounter with Montgomery County police three years ago made him a viral sensation around the world, has died.

Lenny B. Robinson, the 51-year-old Maryland man who drove a custom-made Batmobile and dressed as the Caped Crusader to visit sick children in hospitals, was struck by a car on Interstate 70 Sunday night near Hagerstown, Md., after the Batmobile broke down. He was coming home from a car show in West Virginia.

Robinson had just stopped at a gas station, where he met a family whose children were interested in his custom-made car, Maryland state police in Hagerstown said. Robinson gave the kids some superhero paraphernalia before leaving about the same time as his new acquaintances. When they saw him pull over, they did the same and witnessed the 10:30 p.m. accident, state police said.

Robinson was having engine trouble and stopped “partially in the fast lane,” according to a state police news release. He was checking the engine when the Batmobile was struck by a Toyota Camry. The Batmobile then hit him. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed. The driver of the car, who wasn’t injured, declined to comment.

Robinson’s devastated family and friends gathered Monday at his parents’ Owings Mills, Md., home, remembering him not just as Batman, but as a son, brother, father and uncle.

“He was my brother, my business partner, my best friend,” said his younger brother, Scott Robinson.

The family is aware that people around the world were sharing news of his death.

“He touched a lot of lives and made a lot of kids smile,” Scott Robinson said. “That’s all he wanted to do.”

Robinson spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, his brother said, on his custom-made Batmobile, costumes and the memorabilia he handed out to children, always autographed “Batman,”

The Post revealed Batman’s identity to the world in 2012, after Robinson was pulled over in Silver Spring, Md., in a black Lamborghini and full superhero costume. Video of his encounter with police, who had pulled him over because of a problem with his plates, emblazoned with the Batman symbol, made him an instant sensation on the Web.

The Dark Knight’s encounter with law enforcement began turning up in millions of Facebook news feeds. The episode even made it into a Jimmy Fallon monologue.

Robinson, who lived outside of Baltimore, had cleaned up in the cleaning business, making enough money to buy his own Batmobile, a costume that seemed more real than the one in the movies, and toys and memorabilia that he handed out to children with cancer at hospitals all over Maryland and the District.

On one visit to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, Batman reflected on the health of his own three children. “We’re lucky,” he said.

At Children’s Hospital, there were kids with tubes in their noses, with IVs in their arms. Batman handed out gifts: books, rubber symbol bracelets and other toys.

Batman made those kids smile. They all thought he was Batman, a hero.

“I’m just doing it for the kids,” he said.

Robinson worked closely with Hope for Henry, a D.C. organization that helps sick children. Founded by Laurie Strongin and Allen Goldberg after their son Henry died from a rare disease, the group threw superhero parties in hospitals. Batman was always the star.

“He made so many kids so happy,” Strongin said. “When I asked him to do anything, he always said yes.”

Robinson had never met Henry.

“But he called me every year on his birthday,” Strongin said.

Strongin has been crying all morning. The organization had just finished producing a video about the program. It starts with a little boy dressed as Batman. He has leukemia. He’s waiting outside a hospital. The real Batman — Lenny Robinson — pulls up in his Batmobile, gets out and hugs the boy.

“He was magic,” Strongin said.

His brother said he hopes more people are inspired by his late brother’s life to help sick children, but he knows nobody can step into that Batman costume.

“There will never,” he said, “be another Lenny Robinson.”

A woman traveling around New Zealand came home to find a bill from her wireless service provider totaling nearly $400 for the month of August, but she hadn’t used her service very much while traveling. The culprit, as it turned out, was Windows 10.

Microsoft has released a flurry of updates since pushing Windows 10 out to the public less than a month ago, and the company’s new operating system is configured to download those updates automatically in the background by default. The problem, as it turns out, is that many users aren’t aware of this setting, and the updates continue to download when users are tethered to wireless data.

Microsoft’s Windows 10 launch has, for the most part, been an all-around success.
The one cause for concern, though, is that we seemingly can’t go a week without hearing some new story about how Windows 10 is a bit on the intrusive side when it comes to user privacy. Even though users can opt-out of some of the OS’ more questionable privacy-oriented services, it’s still hard to ignore the fact that Windows 10 is seemingly spying on everything you do.Over the weekend, a number of outlets began reporting that Microsoft’s Services Agreement gives Microsoft the right automatically issue system software updates that can disable pirated software and even counterfeit hardware peripherals. Sure, you should of course steer clear of counterfeit items to begin with, but there’s something undeniably disturbing about the very idea of an OS always keeping a watchful eye on the software and hardware you may or may not be using.

According to Ars Technica, even after you tell Microsoft that Windows 10 shouldn’t make any Internet-related inquiries while you’re using it, it appears that Windows 10 still pings Microsoft for various information.
It also seems Microsoft keeps sending data to its servers via its Live Tiles. Windows 10 seems to download new tile info from Microsoft even if you clear all the tiles from the Start menu, and it uses unencrypted HTTP to do so. Ars argues that while the requests do not contain any identifying information, they shouldn’t be made in the first place since there’s no corresponding tile for them.
Furthermore, Microsoft might be collecting telemetry settings from Windows 10 machines even when such a feature is disabled.

Jessica Alba's company valued at $US1.7b

Alba, who is currently enjoying a summer getaway with her family in Cancun, Mexico, has yet to comment on the new valuation.

Actress Jessica Alba's natural lifestyle firm The Honest Company has been valued at $US1.7 billion ($A2.31 billion).

Alba has been focusing on the business, which sells non-toxic items including nappies, household cleaners and beauty products, since its launch in 2012.

Last year, experts estimated the firm was worth $US1 billion after racking up $US60 million in sales in 2013.

In the 12 months since that valuation, The Honest Company's sales have almost tripled to $US170 million, boosting its worth to $US1.7 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Alba, who is currently enjoying a summer getaway with her family in Cancun, Mexico, has yet to comment on the new valuation.

The financial news emerges days after The Honest Company hit headlines for all the wrong reasons after angry customers complained about the ineffectiveness of the brand's sunscreen products.

Alba responded to the controversy in a post on Instagram, writing, "Protecting our loved ones and yours is the reason we founded Honest. As parents, it pains us to hear that anyone has had a negative experience with our Sunscreen. Bombers cut Hird loose as AFL coach

While the departure of Hird has a distinct air of inevitability about it, the uncertainty remains as to what happens to almost every other facet of the club.

Essendon have ousted James Hird as coach of the embattled club after his failure to arrest the Bombers' alarming slide down the AFL ladder.

The Bombers announced the move in an open letter to fans on the club's website, saying Hird resigned after talks with the club's board.

Essendon chairman Paul Little wrote that while Hird would always be remembered as club champion, the side had failed this season.

"Our on-field performances in 2015 have clearly been unacceptable," he said.

"As the season progressed, it has become increasingly apparent to the board that change was needed.

"To his credit, James has always accepted that he is ultimately accountable for the performance of the team."

Little said there were "mitigating factors" for the Bombers' poor showing in 2015, "including injuries to key players and the ASADA/WADA process".

"However, across every measure, season 2015 has fallen well short of our expectations, and James' expectations," he said.

SALIM Mehajer had one of Sydney’s biggest weddings but when it comes to the units he sells, one investor has found his purchase shrinking.
The Auburn deputy mayor’s development company the Sydney Project Group altered the plans of a Western Sydney unit block so there were nearly double the number investors expected and the unit sizes were reduced.

Former astronaut Colonel Hadfield believes we're not alone in the universe

Former US astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield believes it's only a matter of time before we discover life on another planet.

Hadfield, who has travelled to space several times, worked on the International Space Station and is one of those rare human beings who's had the chance to actually walk in space.

He says it would be conceited to believe we are the only ones out there.

"We always guessed that we're not alone in the universe. We'd like to think that we're the centre of the universe, we'd like to think that we're the only life in the universe but with every big telescope we build, the more we can look. The more we can realise how insignificant we are," Hadfield told AAP in Sydney.

The former astronaut is Down Under to give a series of talks called A Spaceman's View Of The Earth.

But what truly put Hadfield's name on the map was his version of David Bowie's classic track Space Oddity, recorded from the International Space Station while in orbit and its video garnered almost 90 million views on YouTube.

Hadfield believes the astronomical advancements we've made in recent years have brought us closer to finding life elsewhere.

"Just in the last decade we have found thousands of planets around other stars where we can actually start to see the planets or at least the affects of them," he said.

There are even specific planets that Hadfield says potentially have the right conditions for life.

"We've seen over a thousand and out of those thousand planets at least five are earth-like. We don't know if they have life or not but they are similar to earth - the same sort of distance from the sun, the same sort of heat.

"... We know there are not just billions, not just trillions but septillions of planets out there," he said.

He does, however, concede that the distances from earth to these other planets with potential for life are huge but it's only a matter of time before we discover life out in the great beyond.

"The odds are overwhelming that we're not alone but we haven't found any evidence yet. And that's part of the reason we're exploring the universe to find out are we alone or not," he said.

*Hadfield's show A Spaceman's View of the Planet will take place at Sydney's State Theatre on Tuesday and at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne on Thursday night.

*His album, Space Sessions: Songs From A Tin Can, is out on October 9.
