OK,rant time!!! Is anybody actually using Windows 10?? It was launched July 29th.....Why are they jamming it down our throats,I have windows 8.1,I'm happy thank you!!Used to have a burned copy of Windows XP,and I was the biggest c**t inthe world, according to Microsoft!I've been legal for quite a few years now,the wife has Windows 8.1Laptop,and 'Moi' (French Alpha..........just kidding ),8.1 Desktop . I've tried deleting all the relevant files related to an unsuspected ANAL entry of Windows 10,but they keep trying to reinstall the same files, over, and over,It's not on the wife's laptop, but it's on my desktop. ...'let's download 10 muthafukka'What part of fcuk OFF!!don't they understand..what is their modus operandi?? End rant,I think was reading a tech site and they say yer go for it, its quit good, faster and easy to use.. and its free.. other thing they said was maybe wait abit till they iron out the bugs,, which it will have.. got a year to install it i think it was.. and if you dont like it easy to revert back to old version you had.. aslong as you dont delete the windows.old file.. |

it's only you trendies that updates things Shuff's. My biggest problem is the Mrs,she has Windows Defender on her Lappy, and it constantly asks her to update her files, she has the shits with this, and when it asks, she just installs whatever is there at the time.I uninstalled the file, for the Windows 10 icon, and the bullshit that goes with it,and because of the way she updates, she reinstalled it,then had the hide to say,"I thought you got rid of that icon". One saving grace is that Windows 10 doesn't appear to be ready to install on her computer (as it is on mine),but I just don't want to see her inadvertently start downloading it,because she can't be fcuked checking what she is actually installing was reading a tech site and they say yer go for it, its quit good, faster and easy to use.. and its free.. other thing they said was maybe wait a bit till they iron out the bugs,, which it will have.. got a year to install it i think it was.. and if you don't like it easy to revert back to old version you had.. as long as you don't delete the windows.old file.. Thanks for replying with your thoughts Doc,guess it depends on who's review you read,I'm not totally 'anti' it,but I just don't want it on my computer now,I'm happy with 8.1,and until they stop supporting it,or my computer shits itself, and I don't get the choice with a new purchase,I will stick with 8.1.I'm just sick of them trying to jam Windows 10 down my throat, despite all my efforts to fcuk it off, apparently after the twelve months free install period,if you want it on your computer,it'll only cost approximately $200. As I said, depends which review you read,if you want to revert to your old system,if you're not happy QUOTE What if you went through with the Windows 10 upgrade and there are problems or you don't like it? For 30 days after you upgrade, you can go back to the version of Windows you upgraded from. Go to Start>>Settings and choose the Update & Security icon. Then go to the Recovery section and under "Go back to Windows 8.1" or "Go back to Windows 7," click "Get Started." Windows will ask why you're going back, give you some warning and then do its thing. It's simple, although it could take a while. Unfortunately, it isn't a complete fix. Program icons might be missing or broken, even though the programs are still there. Also, clicking on links or files might not open them in the right program anymore. You'll spend some time recreating icons and telling Windows which programs you want to use. The moral of the story is that you should generally wait to jump on any new piece of software. Give it some time and many of the bugs will get worked out before you upgrade. |

A broken line of thunderstorms has developed over the far eastern Darling Downs and western parts of the Southeast Coast district, and is likely to move rapidly eastwards towards the southeast Queensland coast in the next hour or two. A few of the storms embedded in the line may produce strong to damaging wind gusts over the warning area over the next several hours. Not quite there yet with the random chance of hail / storms rolling in. to early in the season. my cat greeted my home coming, but i'm sure she was looking for food, and not a place to hide. |

Shit just hit the.....well everything !!!! Who Flung Poo in China !!!!!! http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/daylight...08946?cid=sm_fb QUOTE China Explosion: Daylight Shows Devastation in Tianjin, At Least 17 Dead
Chinese authorities have ordered a rapid rescue effort and a thorough investigation into a series of powerful explosions in the port city of Tianjin that killed at least 17 people and wounded more than 200, state media reported. Chinese President Xi Jinping promised severe punishment if anyone is found to have been at fault, according to state media. Firefighting efforts were temporarily suspended at the warehouse Thursday morning over concerns about what materials might still be on site, according to a government statement. At least 17 people were killed, and at least 238 people were hospitalized, with 32 in critical condition, state broadcaster CCTV reported Thursday morning. State media outlets reported that some firefighters died, but numbers varied. Earthquake monitors said the first blast had a 2.3-magnitude, the equivalent of 3 tons of TNT, while the second registered as 2.9-magnitude, the equivalent of 21 tons of TNT, state broadcaster CCTV reported. "It was like what we were told a nuclear bomb would be like," truck driver Zhao Zhencheng, who spent the night in the cab of his truck, told The Associated Press. "I've never even thought I'd see such a thing." The shockwave blew out windows in buildings more than a mile away. As the sun rose Thursday, daylight revealed scenes of devastation. A fireball appears to have swept through a parking lot of 1,000 new Renault cars, with the paint burned off and the cars left charred. Dozens of buildings collapsed, CCTV reported. Videos posted on social media showed stunning flashes of light in the night sky. Reports differed about how many firefighters died in the blasts. Xinhua reported on its Twitter page that six firefighters were killed, while state-run Beijing News reported that 11 were killed. It is not yet clear if those numbers were included in the tally of 17 dead. |

http://www.news.com.au/technology/online/d...medium=Facebook QUOTE Dallas Buyers Club will have to pay bond for details on Australian pirates, court rules
ILLEGAL downloaders can sleep easier tonight with the Australian Federal Court ruling that the names and addresses of pirates of Dallas Buyers Club will not be shared. The court ruled this morning that unless Dallas Buyers Club (DBC) LLC pays a $600,000 bond it will not be able to obtain the names and addresses of Australians accused of illegally uploading the movie. This comes after DBC LLC won the right in April to obtain the details of 4726 pirates that used Australian internet service providers to illegally upload the movie. Justice Nye Perram came to the decision as a way to prevent DBC LLC from issuing “speculative invoices” to alleged pirates. The bond means that if DBC does go ahead and issue speculative invoices it would lose the entire bond, which is worth more than the damages it would receive from copyright infringers. “Because DBC has no presence in Australia the court is unable to punish it for contempt if it fails to honour that undertaking. I will therefore require its undertaking to be secured by the lodging of a bond,” Justice Perram said in his judgment. “Having had access to what it is that DBC proposes to demand and the potential revenue it might make if it breached its undertaking to the court not to demand such sums, it seems to me that I should set the bond at a level which will ensure that it will not be profitable for it to do so.” Speculative invoicing involves sending a legal threat to someone saying that unless they pay a sum of money they will have to face court. Often that sum of money is a few thousand dollars, when the actual loss to the rights holders would have been no more than a few hundred dollars. People usually choose to settle outside of court — whether the sum is fair or not — because it would cost even more than that to take the matter to court. Justice Perram stated that DBC proposed four different ways it could demand money from copyright infringers. The permissible demands included infringers paying DBC the cost of a single copy of the film for each copy downloaded, and also covering the costs required to obtain each infringer’s name. However, Justice Perram said DBC’s other two demands were ridiculous and the reason he put the bond in place. DBC wanted to pursue the costs for a one-off license fee from each uploader on the basis that each was engaged in the widespread distribution of the film. But Justice Perram claimed that he would be satisfied that, if a case was brought to trial, it would be dismissed “as a case having no reasonable prospects of success”. He also immediately dismissed DBC’s desire to claim further damages if it was proven that an infringer was a serial pirate. Justice Perram said the bond was also put in place because DBC had not presented any clear figures on what it would be chasing in damages from infringers. |
