Mother of Boston bomber says the US 'will pay'

The mother of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev condemned the guilty verdict delivered by the jury in his federal death penalty trial on Wednesday, calling Americans terrorists and proclaiming her son's innocence.

In an interview with the website Vocativ conducted over the WhatsApp messaging application, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva insisted on the innocence of her Chechen sons, Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who planted the twin bombs that killed three people and wounded nearly 300 others near the finish line of the 2013 marathon. She went on to say that the United States will ultimately pay for framing them.

"My sons are innocent, as innocent as all those who are being killed by your country," Zubeidat Tsarnaeva wrote, according to the website.

"Today they are killing Muslims and tommorrow [sic] will come your turn and he who doubts this is deeply mistaken!!!!!"

Tsarnaeva, who is of Avar origin and lives in Dagestan, wrote the text messages in both Russian and English, according to Vocativ, which obtained her phone number and verified her identity through dated selfies she provided.

"How can a mother feel whose son is in the claws of a predator preparing to tear him to pieces like meat???" she wrote.

"They will pay for my sons and the sons of Islam permanently! The tears of their mothers will be the fuel for them in hell and also their blood, I am doubtless and eternally glad that I know this from the words of the creator, not just anyone's words!"

In a separate note posted to a Russian social media site, Tsarnaeva thanked a family friend for her support of "my precious boy."

"The terrorists are the Americans and everyone knows it," she wrote.

"My son is the best of the best."

The jury found Tsarnaev guilty on all 30 counts for his role in the deadly attacks, which killed three people and injured nearly 300.

At the outset of the trial, Tsarnaev's lawyers admitted that he participated in the attacks.

"It was him," defence attorney Judy Clarke told jurors during opening arguments.

The jurors will now decide whether Tsarnaev will get the death penalty.

Tsarnaeva — who lived with her sons in Cambridge, Massachusetts, before returning to Dagestan in 2012 after being arrested for shoplifting — had been virtually silent during the trial. But in the days following Dzhokhar’s 2013 arrest, Tsarnaeva called the charges against the brothers "all lies and hypocrisy."

At an April 25, 2013, news conference in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, a defiant Zubeidat said her sons had been framed "because they were Muslim" and that the bombings were staged by the FBI using actors "doused in fake blood."

Spoiler Alert: The First Four Episodes Of Game Of Thrones Season 5 Just Leaked

Ouch. If you hate Game Of Thrones spoilers, you might want to keep your head down and your router disconnected for the next…like, month. Don’t worry, though: this post, at least, will be spoiler free.

The very night before Season 5 was set to premiere, the first four episodes of the season have leaked.

Rumors of this leak started circulating on the afternoon of the 11th; by 6 p.m., the files started appearing across myriad torrent trackers. In just a few hours since, over 50,000 people have grabbed the first episode.

Game Of Thrones is already the world’s most pirated show. This.. probably won’t help it lose that title.

Like each season before it, Season 5 of Thrones will consist of just 10 episodes. With this, nearly half of the season has leaked before the first episode even got a chance to officially premiere. Again: Ouch.

While not as awful as having the entire season leak, I imagine some pretty harsh words are being thrown around HBO HQ right now. HBO is banking on the Game Of Thrones premiere to funnel people into its new, long-awaited standalone streaming service, HBO Now… and now said service is going to be behind the pirates by a full month.

How can HBO respond? Do they ride it out and hope subscribers are willing to wade through spoilers for the next month? Do they release all of the leaked episodes in one blast in order to get everyone on the same page?

HBO has not yet replied to a request for comment.

Alaska Airlines Ramp Agent Found in Cargo Hold After Banging Alerts Pilot

A Sea-Tac airport worker fell asleep in the hold of an Alaska Airlines flight today and didn't wake up until it took off, but the pilot, hearing banging, turned the plane around, the airline said tonight.

The pilot of Alaska Airlines flight 448, bound for Los Angeles, heard banging after takeoff from beneath the plane, the company said in a statement.

"The captain immediately returned to Seattle, declaring an emergency for priority landing. The aircraft was in the air for 14 minutes," the airline said. "After landing, the ramp agent was found inside the front cargo hold, which is pressurized and temperature controlled. The ramp agent appeared OK, and was transported to the hospital as a precaution. We are actively investigating the matter."

In a blog on its website, the airline said the agent was an employee of Menzies Aviation and had passed a drug test this afternoon.

"Upon exiting, he told authorities he had fallen asleep," the airline said.
