i read that, it was on streetfx's Fb feed. not sure that its 100% legit / confirmed. i also read a counter story saying that it wasn't 'confirmed' as having happened. so will wait and see. but would agree that it doesn't look good. but also for consideration - and this is something i read, Jeremy Clarke has a column in one of Rupert Murdoch's newspapers, and Murdoch may pick up the Top Gear crew - they're all out of contract at the end of season. So......they may all appear on a rival network sometime in the not to distant future if the BBC can't resolve things or cancel the series. |

Chappie hasn't really appealed to me, who wants a sob story about a robot wanting to live / be human or whatever the premise of the movie is. ;) That pretty well covers it. It's got some funny and violent bits as well. I reckon the South African tourist board must be getting sick of Neil Blomkamp though. He never paints a flattering picture of the place. |

follow the link to see pictures and a video of the 'thing' flying. QUOTE Flying cars could be a reality by 2017
We got our hopes up for a flying car thanks to 'Back To The Future' and 'the Jetsons', but now this Slovakian company may deliver the goods. Stuck in morning traffic and all you can do is honk your horn aggressively? That may soon be a thing of the past if AeroMobil has anything to say about it. The company says it hopes its flying car will hit the skies by 2017. Speaking at SXSW in Austin Texas, AeroMobil CEO Juraj Vaculik argued that his flying car is more than just a prototype. AeroMobil 3.0, also called the Flying Roadster, runs on regular petrol, can sit two people and can be used on the road and fit into a car space. It also has the capabilities of taking off and landing on grass or any paved surface that is a few hundred metres long. As yet, not price for the hybrid vehicle has been set, but we are told to expect the price of a sports car combined with a light aircraft – ‘several hundreds of thousands of Euros.’ |

what do people think about this lot being allowed to play again with cocaine charges still hanging over their heads? QUOTE Gold Coast Titans reinstate five players stood down on cocaine charges; Greg Bird, Dave Taylor and Beau Falloon selected to play
Gold Coast players Greg Bird, Dave Taylor and Beau Falloon have been selected to play Newcastle on Sunday after their suspensions that followed last month's drug charges were lifted by the club today. Bird, Taylor, Falloon, Jamie Dowling and Kalifa Faifai Loa were all stood down by the Titans last month after being charged with supply and possession of cocaine. All five are due to appear in court again on May 8 and are expected to plead not guilty to the charges. The players missed the first two rounds of the NRL but have now been allowed to return to training and playing duties with the NRL squad. Bird, Taylor and Falloon have been rushed straight back into the Titans side to play the Knights on Sunday. The Titans board engaged the services of senior counsel Tony Bannon SC after the five players pleaded not guilty to the charges and had their cases adjourned. In a club statement Mr Bannon advised the Titans to "stay its hand on disciplinary action until the criminal proceedings have been determined." The statement went on to say: "On the basis of this advice the board has resolved to allow the charged players to return to playing and training duties pending the outcome of the legal process." Titans chief executive Graham Annesley said the team's 40-0 loss to Penrith last weekend played no part in the board's decision to reinstate the players. "I hope the general public understands that the board has taken a very deliberate and considered approach to this and made sure they received all available advice before making this decision," Annesley said today. "The board is still concerned about the reputation and damage done to the club and should anyone be found guilty through the courts then the board will take a hard line on that but we cannot pre-determine that outcome." The board said it would continue to take strong action when required to protect and enhance the club's reputation. The five current players plus former Titans Ashley Harrison, Joe Vickery and Steve Michaels were caught up in an investigation by the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) into a cocaine trafficking syndicate in the state's south. The investigation also saw Queensland Reds rugby recruit Karmichael Hunt plead guilty to four counts of cocaine possession. He was fined $2500 in Southport Magistrates Court earlier this month but also suspended for six weeks and fined $30,000 by the Australian and Queensland Rugby Unions. |

no surprises to see ratings nosedive off a very high cliff. QUOTE Top Gear ratings disaster over Jeremy Clarkson loss: 4 million viewers switch off The BBC’s decision to cancel Top Gear while it investigates Jeremy Clarkson resulted in a loss of four million viewers. Top Gear is the most watched programme on BBC Two, regularly drawing an audience of more than five million. Its Sunday night replacement, Red Arrows: Inside the Bubble, drew just 1.3 million – less than six per cent of the viewing public. The documentary, narrated by Eddie Redmayne, was screened on the channel last summer and brought in to plug a last-minute scheduling gap. Top Gear fans on social media voiced their frustration over the decision to pull the show from the schedules. But those who complained directly to the BBC have not been acknowledged. The corporation refused to say how many complaints it has received, citing the ongoing investigation as reason for the non-disclosure. Sunday’s episode of Top Gear was pulled from the schedule at the behest of Danny Cohen, the BBC’s director of television. It had been due to feature Gary Lineker as the star in a reasonably priced car. The BBC has also effectively cancelled a second episode of the top rating motoring series, as the investigation into the behaviour of Clarkson drags into a second week. A spokesperson for the show has confirmed via the Top Gear official website that it would not return to the studio this week. “We can now confirm that Top Gear will not be back in the studio this week,” the spokesperson said. “As such, the episode due for broadcast this Sunday night, 22nd March, will also be postponed pending the outcome of the investigation.” The spokesperson confirmed that Ken MacQuarrie, the director of BBC Scotland, had been appointed to lead the investigation. When the incident occurred, studio links were to be filmed for three remaining episodes of the show’s 22nd season. Because of Clarkson’s suspension, the production was unable to film the show’s studio links for last week’s program, forcing them to postpone. It is now expected that the BBC will most likely abandon the show’s 22nd season altogether. The series, hosted by Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, is the highest rating show on the BBC’s BBC Two channel. Clarkson was suspended after a “fracas” with one of the show’s producers, Oisin Tymon, after Clarkson was unable to get hot food after a day’s filming. After a string of mishaps, Clarkson was given a “final warning” by the BBC last year. Clarkson told UK media at the time he would be sacked if he made “one more offensive remark, anywhere, at any time”. The investigation is expected to conclude at the end of this week and an announcement over Clarkson’s future is expected by Friday. Clarkson has hinted that he may walk away from the corporation regardless of the outcome. Although the BBC owns the Top Gear format, Clarkson could host another motoring show for a rival broadcaster. |

will definitely be watching this when it comes out. QUOTE First Full Trailer for Thunderbirds Are Go! Over the last few months we’ve gotten a lot of promo material for the upcoming rebooted series Thunderbirds Are Go! There’s been a lot of teasing of what this series will be like, but today we have the first full trailer for you to watch. I’m not the biggest fan of the CG character designs. I understand they wanted to capture that old-school marionette feel, but I think these updated characters could have been designed a little better. I do love that all the sets are practical models that were built for the series, and I think it will be fun watch. Featuring effects by Weta Workshop, the iconic series is coming back and features a cast led by Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) as Lady Penelope and David Graham (“Thunderbirds” 1965) reprising his role as chauffeur and International Rescue agent Parker. Unstoppable inventor Brains will be voiced by Kayvan Novak, while Tracy brothers Gordon and John are both played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Love Actually, Game of Thrones). Rasmus Hardiker voices both the youngest and oldest Tracy brothers, Alan and Scott. The fifth Tracy brother, Virgil, will be played by David Menkin. Tracy Island matriarch Grandma Tracy is voiced by Sandra Dickinson and master villain The Hood is played by Andres Williams. Thunderbirds Are Go! will feature new characters including Kayo, the Tracy brothers’ friend and fellow island resident, who will be played by Angel Coulby, and Colonel Casey voiced by Adjoa Andoh (Doctor Who). This re-invention of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s much-loved series will be produced using an innovative mix of CGI animation and live-action miniature sets. |

make sure that you tell everyone, i don't want to see none of you nancies stuffin' up my shit experience. QUOTE 124-YEAR-OLD PATENT REVEALS THE RIGHT WAY TO USE TOILET PAPER
In 1871, New York businessman Seth Wheeler introduced the idea that the end of a toilet paper roll should be on the outside, or in the “over” position. Wheeler's Albany Perforated Wrapping Paper Company was the first company in the world to manufacture toilet paper. Wheeler also introduced perforations as part of his toilet roll invention. "My invention consists in a roll of wrapping paper with perforations on the line of the division between one sheet and the next, so as to be easily torn apart, such roll of wrapping paper forming a new article of manufacture," he wrote. Before perforation, tearing off the sheets by hand wasted a lot of paper, according to Wheeler. His concept was simple, stating that "the sheets of paper are only partially separated, having their points of attachment arranged in a novel manner, whereby each sheet will easily separated from the series as it is drawn from the roll, there being no litter occasioned, and any waste of paper is thereby prevented." Writer Owen Williams shared the discovery on Twitter earlier this week, posting a picture of Wheeler's patent for the toilet paper roll: So it seems the debate over toilet roll etiquette, was actually resolved over a century ago. |

Picked up the Qashqai on Monday, must say rather impressed for the whitegoods on wheels category of vehicle, I've only done 300k's but, ride extremely well, brakes have good feel, quiet, seems to have enough go, CVT is a weird feeling, but I haven't hammered it yet, I did the demo and it felt ok for a 2 litre in a largish car.

They have to be Gifs for a crook neck though there's gif's in amongst the pictures. last one's the bomb. wait til you see it Picked up the Qashqai on Monday, must say rather impressed for the whitegoods on wheels category of vehicle, I've only done 300k's but, ride extremely well, brakes have good feel, quiet, seems to have enough go, CVT is a weird feeling, but I haven't hammered it yet, I did the demo and it felt ok for a 2 litre in a largish car. Odd colour, it reminds me of a 74 Statesman or Fairmont colour, but nice all the same. And no I didn't choose the plates, it was 1 number off the perfect one for a VK commodore V8, I wish I known at the time, lol nice vk Yep, we are up for NBN here in May, It certainly sped things up finding them office space and places to do their briefings and store their equipment, but I do worrry when I see some of them struggling to remember there way around the building we're undecided whether or not to 'upgrade'. we pay $80 a month now for TPG offnet unlimited download 20mb/s plan, which is only 1mb realistically, but has served us well for the past 3-4 years (hence why it costs so much, no one pays that much now for an unlimited download - you can get it half that price through dodo - not 'offnet' though) and am unsure if we'll need to maintain a landline to access the broadband. must do more research as to what plans are available and the download limits etc. the 'thresh hold' with what we pay now is $110 a month for our internet / land line, so wouldn't want to be paying more than that. |
